00:00 It all began as a simple private aircraft flight nearly ended in tragedy, twice, after
00:04 a small plane went down in Florida and crashed into a remote area of the Everglades.
00:10 This video was just released by Miami-Dade Fire Authorities, showing the rescue of the
00:14 pilot.
00:15 The plane went down on Halloween at around 4am, but despite surviving the crash, they
00:20 then had to survive for hours before they were rescued.
00:23 In the meantime, they waited in the swampy Everglades, an area known for its deadly alligators.
00:28 The rescuers say when they arrived by helicopter, they saw the man sitting on the wing of the
00:31 plane, explaining in an official statement, "Due to the remote location of the incident
00:36 and difficult terrain, MDFR's Air Rescue North arrived on the scene to conduct a hoist
00:41 operation in order to rescue the patient from the downed aircraft."
00:44 It's still unclear why the pilot was flying his aircraft at 4 in the morning or what caused
00:49 the small airplane to go down.
00:50 What is clear is that the pilot of the Cessna Skyhawk 172M aircraft is lucky to be alive.
00:57 Rescuers say the man will survive and was airlifted to a local hospital for minor injuries
