00:00And today we are announcing that we want to make it cheaper for families to go on holiday.
00:05As Nigel has said, this is a time of year where millions of Brits will be going on holiday,
00:11catching some sun in Mallorca or Tenerife,
00:14and millions more will be sat at home over the Easter holidays thinking about booking a family holiday.
00:20And this year of all years, that will be a tough decision because household finances are just so tight.
00:26And so we want to make it cheaper.
00:28That's why we're announcing today that a reformed government in our first budget will get rid of the family holiday
00:36tax.
00:37Air passenger duty will be gone for short-haul family trips.
00:43That will save a family, on average, £45 on their flights, whether that's abroad or £48 if they're going on
00:53holiday here in the UK.
00:55That means that if you are catching a flight, for example, as a family to Malaga,
01:00you would save 23% on the cost of your flights.
01:05You it's worth noting that if you are a family and one of the young people,
01:05who's a family of decades is dealing with the delivery tax,
01:05The imitation of your family and I don't need the figure in mind.
