Transcript
00:00 When it comes to being prepared for severe weather, every tool you need is right here
00:05 in the palm of your hand with the AccuWeather app.
00:08 With the app, you can get watches and warnings to the palm of your hand any time active weather
00:13 is around.
00:14 But here's the thing, you have to make sure your push notifications are turned on for
00:18 your local area.
00:20 Let's show you how to do that in case you need a refresher.
00:22 We'll start with this.
00:23 Go to the three lines at the top left of the app.
00:27 Once you're there, go down to settings.
00:30 Once you're in settings, go to manage notifications.
00:33 Turn on your government alerts and from there you can select the notifications that apply
00:37 to your area.
00:39 For example, here at AccuWeather HQ, we're in State College, Pennsylvania, so we have
00:43 our State College, Pennsylvania notifications turned on.
00:46 But maybe we don't necessarily need them today for Hays, Kansas.
00:50 You can go into edit locations and remove Hays.
00:53 Hopefully this helps you and we will always be here to help you through the storms.
