00:00 Hello everyone my name is Dominique Fluecker and I'm the lifestyle editor at Essence.
00:04 We were exclusively invited to the south of France, specifically Cognac, to learn
00:09 how the popular spirit is made. The trip also included several intimate dinners
00:13 and activities to celebrate Bastille Day. After a long travel day from Los Angeles
00:18 I finally arrived in Bordeaux. From there I took a 1.5 hour drive to Cognac to
00:23 stay at the exclusive Chez Monet InSpa Hotel. Later the group had a beautiful
00:28 welcome dinner in town at La Maison with Sullivan Doe, D'Usse's brand ambassador.
00:33 The next day we learned how Cognac is made at Ruchu Vineyard Tour. Later that
00:38 evening we had the unique opportunity to tour Chateau de Cognac, D'Usse's brand
00:43 home and experience a tasting and three-course meal. The next day we
00:48 traveled to Paris and had a fun cocktail hour and dinner at the swanky
00:52 Bonnie restaurant. Friday we all enjoyed some free time before the Bastille
00:56 celebration so of course I went to visit the Eiffel Tower. Later the group
01:00 experienced a Sien River cruise and viewed the Bastille Day fireworks at
01:05 Gigi Paris rooftop. I greatly enjoyed my return to France ten years later to
01:10 learn about beauty and tradition of Cognac.
01:15 (upbeat music)
