00:24It brings out my inner child.

00:28We became friends through OMG,
00:30and it's just been...

01:38or...
01:39Ooh!
01:40Ooh, we just need to ooze out all of it.
01:42Get a real, like, Diana Ross.
01:45Yeah, okay.
01:46You know what I'm talking about.
01:47That's the cream.
01:49When I found that I was creative director for this,
01:51I immediately went to their old stuff first
01:54and immersed myself into their catalog.
01:56And I saw who were their influence.
01:58You could tell right away who were their influence.
01:59So I immediately went to TLC, I went to Destiny's Child,
02:03I went to all the local Atlanta, like black, 702,
02:06just all the girl groups.
02:08I saw that, I wanted to combine their references
02:12with their youth, with what the future is now.
02:15You know what I mean?
02:15And just trying to embody all of that into one magic ball.
02:21Very excited for this tour.
02:22It's our first headlining tour.
02:24Everybody, all components.
02:25Look at Anthony right here.
02:27Yes, he's been killing us in a great way,
02:29making sure we are great.
02:30And we appreciate that every day, ha!
02:32What I learned through this process is that
02:34the most important thing is to be well rested
02:37and to have a lot of energy.
02:38And our schedules have been packed,
02:39not only with rehearsals, but also press days,
02:43promoting our newest single, T.
02:44OMG, the OMG girls!
02:46Yes!
02:47You could walk on their first headlining tour.
02:49Yes!
02:50The OMG girls.
02:51Rehearsals have been full of energy,
02:54lots of stretching.
02:56Hands here, stretch, stretch the bottom leg,
02:57stretch the bottom leg.
02:58Lots of cardio.
02:59Get me there, get me there.
03:01And lots of bad work, too.
03:03Eight singles.
03:03Eight, seven, six, five, four.
03:07You gotta, like, have it tight so you can hold up right.
03:10Period.
03:10So it's the official first day of tech,
03:12and we are five days out before our first show here in Atlanta.
03:16And it's just now connecting all the dots.
03:18We've been putting all these sections together
03:20to see how they fit and flow.
03:22And everything is working.
03:24It's just, you know, hurry up and wait.
03:26You know, slow cook.
03:27We could do that.
03:33That could be crazy.
03:34Sure.
03:34I'll lose it.
03:35Woo!
03:37That could be crazy.
03:38I swear I'll let you do it.
03:39OK, OK, OK.
03:40No, yeah, I'm just trying to, you know, piece it together, too.
03:44What's up, y'all?
03:44This is Gordie Maxx.
03:45I am musical director, arranger, drummer for OMG girls.
03:49Right now, we are making edits to the song Make a Scene.
03:53We are basically making a better transition.
03:57Gordie is amazing.
04:05He's an amazing musician.
04:06And I think he just really put a lot into the sound of the show
04:10because we really have to tell a story with the music.
04:14Today feels absolutely amazing.
04:16I think because we've been in rehearsal for the past month,
04:19just like getting it right, now it's kind of just getting
04:22everything else surrounding the show right,
04:23integrating everybody into what we've been rehearsing.
04:27It's been a lot of hard work.
04:28It has not been easy.
04:29We've been having 10 to 12 hour days pretty much every day
04:32this month.
04:33Dancing is not something that I really
04:35enjoy doing or learning, but I feel like this process
04:38kind of made me come to love it.
04:40I definitely think that me feeding into that insecurity
04:44of like feeling like I couldn't dance is kind of what
04:47was stopping me from progressing.
04:49And I think that throughout this process,
04:50it just kind of awakened something in me to be like,
04:54you know what, I have to dance.
04:55And it has to look good.
05:01And as you can see, you hear that voice?
05:03It's raspy.
05:04Well, I have a naturally raspy voice,
05:05but it's hoarse because I may have used it a little too much.
05:09Myself, I am not just rapping.
05:12I am also singing.
05:13So I'm a person that likes to hype people up when I'm
05:15having a good time.
05:17And I've had to keep it quiet because she'll go away
05:20and go on vacation and then I have to go find her.
05:22And sometimes she just takes longer than what it should.
05:25So I put myself on vocal rest, made sure I stayed on top
05:28of my green teas and honey.
05:30And taking care of the vocal cords better.
05:36Atlanta!
05:37Let it breathe for a second.
05:39I wasn't going to say that.
05:40That's not my line.
05:41The long rehearsals have been really crazy,
05:44trying to juggle being a parent and being an artist.
05:48I'm always in mama mode, as y'all can see.
05:51I had to go pick my baby up before I came to rehearsal.
05:54She's here.
05:55I got her a lot of toys, and I'm hoping
05:57that that keeps her occupied.
05:59I feel like as moms, when we can't always
06:01be there for our kids, we put all this pressure on ourselves
06:04and feel like maybe I'm not doing the best thing for my kid.
06:07So I have to remind myself that when my kid is not with me,
06:10she is still fine.
06:12Watching Zonnique as a mother and juggling her career, it just
06:15reminds me of myself.
06:16Because when she was Hunter's age, I was doing the same thing.
06:20So it's like I love seeing her in her element.
06:23And I'm glad that Hunter is able to see her in her element.
06:27And they see you in that light.
06:28They get to see who mommy is and what they really do.
06:31And I love that for her.
06:32And she's doing a great job.
06:34My mode and full effects.
06:36I don't know how I'm doing it, y'all.
06:38But I'm doing it.
06:39All right.
06:39This is the intro to Gucci Diz, the namestays tour.
06:43Yeah.
06:44Y'all ready for this?
06:46If you know this, sing along with us.
06:48Gucci Diz, Gucci Diz.
06:50But y'all, one second, one second, one second, one second.
06:54All the transitions have talking moments in every song.
06:57There's always somebody saying something.
06:59There's never no dead moments.
07:00In between that, the instrumental moments,
07:03somebody always have to give a beat, a talk, something
07:05so we can hear y'all.
07:06It can feel personal.
07:07It can feel like, you remember this?
07:09We want, you know, how many?
07:12How many of y'all remember this one?
07:13Okay.
07:14I need y'all to sing this one with us, too.
07:15Or something, just something in that vein
07:16where you're inviting them and you're keeping connected.
07:20I think overall, Anthony's amazing.
07:21He just looks at the bigger picture.
07:23He wants us to look amazing.
07:25And also, he wants for us to feel confident
07:27in our performance.
07:28Very grateful to be working with him.
07:30Okay.
07:30Oh, great in the industry.
07:32What are the different textures and elements
07:34that we can incorporate?
07:36Like Destiny's Child and like, you know,
07:37think about how strong their looks were
07:39and like how different they were at the same time.
07:41Yeah.
07:42Honestly, I think that it's kind of crazy
07:45that we're so close we haven't seen any,
07:47you know, wardrobe looks.
07:48I feel like the great thing about EJ
07:50is that he just understands like the vision
07:52and like the look of OMG.
07:55And he hasn't missed.
07:56And he won't.
07:57Yeah.
07:58He won't.
07:58Yeah.
07:59All right, so I think we're in a good space, y'all.
08:01I think movement-wise, y'all hitting your beats.
08:03You're making your marks.
08:05You know, you're getting your ad-libs.
08:06We got the script.
08:08The process is continuous.
08:09As long as we keep going on in this like upward trajectory,
08:12I think we're in a good space.
08:14I don't want to get comfortable.
08:15I want to continue to push this narrative
08:16and, you know, push for that, for Excellent Street, baby.
08:19Yeah, okay, we got you, baby.
08:21Okay, baby.
08:21I love you, baby, baby.
08:23Okay.
08:24All right.
08:25Let's get to it.
08:26I think me and the girls have found a different type of voice
08:30within our team.
08:31Like, wow, you know, they're not little girls anymore.
08:33I think they look amazing.
08:36They sounded good.
08:37Thank y'all.
08:39You got a couple more days for amazing.
08:40Yeah, I mean, well, I did see a couple of those things
08:43where they were kind of like, what's going on?
08:45Don't start that moment, please.
08:46So starting the OMG Girls, I just knew that my daughter could sing.
08:51Of course, you know, Neek Neek and Baja grew up together.
08:53They were together since they were in the womb.
08:55And so I was like, hey, like, this is dope.
08:58Like, let's put them together.
09:00It was a passion for me to create a girl group.
09:03What makes them special is that they are vibe.
09:06Like, you know, they fresh, they cute.
09:09They have talent.
09:11Their stage presence is over the top.
09:13I think that this show is definitely a true reflection
09:16of who we are as individuals and as a group.
09:18It shows just us in a new light, just us being mature,
09:22you know, really just grown women.
09:25Y'all ready for this?
09:26We're not a player.
09:27I believe they go by the name OMG.
09:33I've worked with Gordy in the past.
09:34You know, I felt like he has a young, youthful, fresh perspective.
09:38And it works for what these young ladies are doing for their reemergence.
09:42I just enjoy being able to, like, come in and just tell him my ideas.
09:46And he'll execute.
09:47So, yeah, I debuted the intro yesterday.
09:49In my process of creating and arranging, I typically do my intros last.
09:53It kind of gives me that bigger picture idea and how I should move.
09:57And it's crazy because I did it maybe about three to four hours before debuting
10:01because I was just in my head about it.
10:03I wanted to make sure that the intro was what it needed to be.
10:06It took every bit of the third day of rehearsal to be like, I got an intro.
10:10The pressure was on for sure this week.
10:13It was definitely on.
10:14Gordy created this last night.
10:16I know we up to the crunch.
10:17But he had this idea to come up with something for the intro.
10:21So he's going to let us hear it.
10:22Oh, and G-Girls, Donnie, Granger, and Brie, and the Omnibus!
10:38Star, Babydoll, Beauty, and we are the Omnibus.
10:43The Omnibus.
10:45It's the name stays tour.
10:48Three, two, one, go!
10:52Ladies and gentlemen, the O-M-G.
11:14Go, go, go, go.
11:15Yeah!
11:17Oh!
11:18Oh!
11:18Oh!
11:19Oh!
11:19Oh!
11:20Oh!
11:21Oh!
11:21Oh!
11:22Oh!
11:23Oh, I love that!
11:24You ate that!
11:25Or you put your foot on the neck, and the neck is broken.
11:27Like...
11:28Give him a sprain.
11:29Yeah.
11:30Shout out to Gordy.
11:31He killed that, okay?
11:32My favorite part of the show, honestly, is the opening.
11:34Oh, my God!
11:35Like, no notes.
11:36Beautiful.
11:37Woo-hoo!
11:38Yeah!
11:39Yeah!
11:40Yeah!
11:41Yeah!
11:42Yeah!
11:43All right, now.
11:44You got a piece of the puzzle, okay?
11:45Come on.
11:46Come on.
11:47We got a show now.
11:48We got a show.
11:49We got a show.
11:50All right, ladies.
11:53So we just sold out our first show.
11:57Yeah!
11:58Yeah!
11:59Yeah!
12:00Yeah!
12:01I wanted them to have an elevated moment, a moment of surprise.
12:06So we sold the show out!
12:07Yeah!
12:08Yeah!
12:09Yeah!
12:10Yeah!
12:11Yeah!
12:12Yeah!
12:13I've been busy, but I was gonna come tell y'all that.
12:15Hey, we need to do a post then!
12:16Okay!
12:17Yeah!
12:18We sold out!
12:19Yeah!
12:20It's amazing to do this in our hometown and, like, them to sell out the way they did.
12:22Team OMG do not play.
12:23They don't.
12:24Okay?
12:25No, they do not play.
12:26When it comes to our fans, they are very interactive.
12:28They're gonna tell you how they feel.
12:30They keep tabs and receipts on everything.
12:32Love them down.
12:33Shout out to Team OMG.
12:34We have the show just to run down.
12:36Yeah.
12:37We have all our steps.
12:38Yeah.
12:39All our talking points.
12:40Mm-hmm.
12:41And now we just have to just run it without the mirror.
12:43Yeah.
12:44That's the thing I'm like, we gotta, yeah.
12:45That's the tough part.
12:46We're all in alignment together.
12:48We're just so chilled that it's like nothing can come our way and separate us.
12:53Like, this is just my favorite girl group.
12:54Like, even if I wasn't in the group, I would still, y'all would still be my favorites.
12:57Ooh.
12:58I agree.
12:59I was.
13:00It's me.
13:01I said, is that true?
13:02It is.
13:03I feel that.
13:04Y'all two, y'all are two my favorite artists, period.
13:06Aw, thank you, Bri.
13:07Well, now I have to say something sweet.
13:10I just feel like you guys inspire me so much.
13:13The two of you watching y'all do what you do, even though I'm alongside of y'all.
13:17I like to watch y'all.
13:18Yeah.
13:19I love standing next to you, ladies.
13:20Okay.
13:21I love you.
13:22The girls and I, we're all extremely talented.
13:25We all love music.
13:26And doing it together is one of our favorite things to do.
13:29So just to have a second chance in itself is really, I feel like, out of passion.
13:34You know, when I come into this process with the girls, it just, it humbles me.
13:38I trust them enough to ride with them, even if it might be something that I don't agree with.
13:44You know what I mean?
13:45Because I know that they have the same vision that I do, which is what's best for all of us.
13:50Let's cheers to our first city being sold out.
13:52Yes!
13:53To our first headlining tour.
13:54To the namespace tour.
13:55I can't wait to do many more with y'all.
13:57I love y'all so much and I'm so proud of us.
13:58I love y'all.
13:59I love you, ladies.
14:00I'm so proud of us.
14:01We done got to the end, baby.
14:02Woo!
14:03All right, stand by.
14:05Have fun, ladies.
14:06This is actually show number one.
14:09Work through the mishaps.
14:11Play back, go.
14:33To get to this point and there's still little things that are going to happen, but we can prevent them because it's in y'all and y'all know it.
14:55But I feel, I feel encouraged.
14:57I hope y'all feel encouraged.
14:58Like, just to sit back, I was entertained.
15:00I was engaged.
15:02Okay.
15:03Y'all killed it though.
15:04Like, I'm not gonna hold you.
15:05Like, you know what I mean?
15:06The mess ups were saved, but it's just like, I saw a baby just said, ooh, one time.
15:10I'm like, ooh.
15:11I was like, ooh.
15:12I was like, ooh.
15:13I was like, ooh.
15:14I was like, ooh.
15:15I was like, ooh.
15:16I was like, ooh.
15:17Okay.
15:18Because I always did.
15:19When I was like, ooh.
15:20When I was like, ooh.
15:21When I was like, ooh.
15:22There's a lot of stutter steps, Bri.
15:24You got a lot of stutter steps.
15:25You know what I mean?
15:26It's just, I mean, it's not personal.
15:28You know what I mean?
15:29I'm just saying.
15:30Like, so can we?
15:31I was saying that.
15:32I ain't saying they need this one.
15:33They take this one.
15:34Well, as you can see, there's still work to be done.
15:37See you at the show.
15:38You know, if you need more, if you need more music, you need your hair just right in your hand.
15:53I'm not confident in that walk-up, y'all, and that's the first thing.
16:20I mean, I guess the walk-in is the only thing that I don't feel certain about, but hopefully
16:36I just get up there and it works out.
16:38I'm just very calm, I just kind of want to be quiet, so I'll be excited after it's done.
16:45Oh my gosh, this looks so good!
16:48I'm excited, I don't know what's going on, but they all here.
16:51So how you doing, y'all?
16:52I'm AJ King, celebrity stylist.
16:54And today's look started from, we did a shoot for Rolling Stone, and it was the first time
17:03the girls kind of did all black, they kind of did leather, it was a bit more edgier.
17:07And so I wanted to kind of recreate a vibe like that today.
17:12I'm like, why not start off the tour with this momentum and kind of vibe, but it's the new
17:20revamped OMG Girls.
17:22The outfits are about to be fire, like put that ish on.
17:25We had a great sound check.
17:26I'm feeling good, I'm feeling great.
17:27I'm getting to the place where poor y'all like to zone in.
17:30Get on that level of like very zen, because I need all the energy for tonight.
17:36And even my boys, I need to be home.
17:38But the girls and I be right there with each other, and we like, you know, hype each other
17:41up, pray.
17:42That makes me feel better.
17:43His name is Chris, Christopher.
17:46He passed away at 27 years old, um, on a motorcycle.
17:51So Nick keeps him in her ear.
17:53We love you Chris.
18:00It is an hour before the show.
18:02I'm starting to feel the little nerves coming in.
18:06As soon as we finish with his hair, I'm going to start feeling butterflies, because it's
18:11about to be time to hit the stage.
18:13And I know we about to kill it, because we have been rehearsing day and night, 10 hours
18:17a day.
18:18So we don't have no choice but to eat it up.
18:24The OMG Girls.
18:26The OMG Girls.
18:27The OMG Girls.
18:28We have Veja, Brie, and Zonnie.
18:32It's the Namestays Tour.
18:33Three.
18:34Two.
18:35Go.
18:36Baby Doll.
18:38You think?
18:39Yeah.
18:54Baby Doll.
