Australian Antarctic division preparing to retrieve million-year ice core

The Australian Antarctic division will begin its 'most ambitious scientific mission ever' this summer- to retrieve a million-year ice core from the centre of Antarctica. Today the division completed the first successful test of its ice drill, but that's just one small part of this enormous logistical challenge.
