00:12It works for flexibility with my family.
00:16I'm able to make more time with my kids.
00:19And his boss is all for it.
00:21We just thought, let's put it out there for remote working
00:24because it actually suits our business.
00:27Estate agent Will Benici already has worked from home arrangements
00:31in his two Victorian offices,
00:34but is angered by the move to enshrine the right legally.
00:37I'd like to think that as a business owner,
00:40that I'm the one that is making the decisions
00:42on how best to run my business without legislation telling me how to do it.
00:48Mr Benici also runs an office in New South Wales
00:51and says he'll consider shutting his Victorian operations
00:54if the changes go through.
00:56This is just yet another factor of a government meddling in an area
01:01that's not their area of expertise.
01:04Wodonga's business chamber believes the proposed laws
01:07will mean increased costs in Victoria
01:10and fears businesses will pack up and head across the Murray River
01:13to Albury where there's less bureaucracy
01:16and no work from home entitlements.

01:19This is another incentive to employers
01:22that maybe we shouldn't be doing business in Victoria any longer.
01:25Hayley Foots says she can see the issues
01:28with laws preventing owners from running their businesses
01:31how they want to,
01:32but says if they help workers do their job better,
01:35everyone wins.
01:36We're all about the workers
01:38and let's try and do what works for them
01:40and let's get the best out of them.
01:41The state government is undertaking consultation,
01:44but wants the laws in place before next year's election.
