During a relatively calm weekend in Quito, members of the Citizen’s Revolution gathered to celebrate the positive changes made by President Rafael Correa’s government. Yet right-wing protests have not let up. Members of the country’s oligarchy continue to organize them in one city after another. Some analysts believe that a “soft coup” is taking place in the country in an effort to generate chaos and make it impossible to approve some or all of the proposed constitutional reforms.
