Mexico: Teacher Evaluations Cancelled in 2 States

Following a series of violent protests, Mexican authorities cancelled teacher evaluation exams in the states of Oaxaca and Michoacan. The controversial evaluations, however will proceed in the rest of the country. The dissident teachers movement charges that the standardized evaluation exams do not take regional and development levels into account and are a step toward privatizing education. teleSUR
