Salesforce, the customer software giant, is buying a military AI startup. 🤖
What Salesforce announced on October 29, 2026:
• Salesforce signed a definitive agreement to acquire Rune Technologies, which builds TyrOS, AI-powered software for military logistics and sustainment.
• Rune's software helps frontline teams forecast supply needs and plan logistics, including in places with little or no network connectivity (Salesforce).
• Rune was founded in 2024 by David Tuttle and Peter Goldsborough, whose team has leadership experience at Anduril. It is already deployed with the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps (Salesforce).
• Rune will join Missionforce, Salesforce's defense business. Salesforce says Missionforce is growing 80% year over year and has a 10-year U.S. Army contract with a ceiling of $5.6 billion.
