Nvidia may co-sign the loans for a giant AI data centre built for Anthropic. 🏗️💸
What was reported (October 29-30, 2026):
• On October 29, The Information reported that Nvidia is in talks to guarantee billions of dollars of debt for Nscale, a British AI cloud company. Bloomberg confirmed the talks, and Reuters carried the report.
• The money would help build Nscale's Monarch Compute Campus in West Virginia.
• Anthropic has signed a deal worth about $45 billion to use the first building, a 460-megawatt building expected to use Nvidia's Vera Rubin chips (Nscale's IPO filing, as reported by TechCrunch).
• The proposed structure is a residual value guarantee: if Nscale missed its construction payments, Nvidia would step in, temporarily take over the facility and help find a buyer and a new tenant, according to The Information.
• Nothing is signed yet and the terms could still change. Nscale declined to comment to Bloomberg and Nvidia did not respond, The Next Web reported.
• TechCrunch called it "a sign of how hard the AI industry is working to keep its buildout plans afloat as investors grow jittery".
