00:00I know people have a lot of problems about the Browns talking a lot and then not showing up.
00:04I more have a problem with them not showing up.
00:06I would just rather have them, you know, if my options were talk a lot and not show up
00:12or not talk and show up, I think you know what I would choose.
00:15Yeah.
00:16But I think the idea that them talking so much is why they lost is silly.
00:23It might be a symptom of them showing up and acting like they had already won the game.
00:28But no, the Cleveland Browns seem to be the only team in football that is not allowed to talk any
00:36sort of smack
00:37because people are afraid of what it might do.
00:39I don't hear any other fan base or really any other media have this kind of problem up front
00:45about back and forth in rivalry games.
00:48Now again, I'm saying that after the fact that the Browns talked a big game and got their ass handed
00:54to them.
00:55But the idea that, oh, they talk too much.
00:58No, guys, no.
00:59No, they just got their ass kicked.
01:01Yeah, they just got beeped.
01:02And once they got punched in the mouth, they couldn't stand back up.
01:05I mean, how many former athletes could we talk to last week?
01:07Brian McFadden is the one that's staying in my head, though.
01:09And he's like, yeah, once the game gets going, nobody cares about the crap talk.
01:12Nobody cares about that.
01:13Now, I do think it was obvious.
01:14I mean, it's very obvious that even day of when Jared Verse does what he does in the pregame,
01:19not only is he cognizant of it, it's definitely rumbling around in his brain,
01:23but that doesn't change whether or not you get dog walked.
01:25You got dog walked.
01:25And honestly, I don't think Jared Verse's performance had anything to do with him commenting earlier.
01:30No, we watched him play that way all year long.
01:32Yeah, he hasn't been very good this season.
01:34And I think that is like, here's the lesson if you would like it.
01:38If you go out and talk a big game, show up on Sunday and don't get dog walked.
01:44You can lose, and people will go ahead and back you if it is a close loss and a productive
01:51loss.
01:51People will find silver linings.
01:53Even in a loss to Pittsburgh, people will do that.
01:55But when you talk a big game and then you don't show up on Sunday,
01:59and Jared, this has to be for you most of all, because you cannot be these two things.
02:04You can't be underperforming on the field and talking too much off the field.
02:10You can't use words like dominate and then go out and get dominated.
02:15You cannot, because while we like when you talk a big game, we only like it if you then back
02:23it up.
02:23Yeah, well, and that's why now it feels like for maybe not the rest of the season,
02:27but at least for a few weeks, they're going to have to be quiet as a church mouse now.
02:30Like now they can't, they don't have the ability to then talk smack during the week.
02:34And it's not because it dictates anything that happened during the game.
02:38It's just when you talk that much smack and then you don't back it up, nobody wants to hear from
02:42you anymore.
02:43I mean, it is a week-to-week league.
02:44So if you blow out the Saints on Sunday, you can get right back to it.
02:48That's just kind of how the NFL works.
02:49Nope.
02:50I don't think anybody will take it seriously for a little bit.
02:52I think fans will forget about it.
02:53I think fans have shorter memories.
02:55Sorry, shorter memories.
02:57I almost said shorter members.
02:59Shorter memories than fans do.
03:02You think so?
03:03Yeah, I absolutely do.
03:04The memory or the memories?
03:05Which one?
03:05Memories.
03:05Which one?
03:06Memories.
03:06Yeah, I don't know.
03:08It just feels like, I'll tell you where I'm at with it right now.
03:10I don't want to hear them talk smack for a little bit.
03:13I want them to take a little bit of a hiatus from walking around with your chest out and
03:17talking smack.
03:17Just a little bit of one.
03:18To me, it's mostly Jared.
03:20And even last week when we talked about it, we were like, all right, Jared's going to talk
03:25a big game here.
03:26You got to go out and have a big game on Sunday.
03:30When the most, listen, he did have a nice hit early in the game on Aaron Rodgers that
03:37forced the Steelers to punt.
03:39The third down play.
03:40Yeah, yeah.
03:40So that was a nice play.
03:41That's the one I can remember.
03:43The biggest play from the game is a special teams play where he got dumped on his head
03:48by Mason McCormick.
03:49Which, by the way, the one problem I have with anyone's reaction to that is, guys, we shouldn't
03:55be agreeing with Steelers fans because we're mad at Jared Verse.
03:58It was a dirty play.
03:59Mason McCormick is a dirty pirate.
04:02That's not what our guy Pinkston said.
04:03And Pink is wrong.
04:05I don't think Pink watched the play.
04:06And that sounds like a shot.
04:08Oh, that's heavy-handed.
04:10He didn't even think he watched the play.
04:11He's got access to the internet.
04:13He's right in one way, in which when somebody goes up, you are taught to, especially to try
04:17and bring their hands down and to try and bring them down.
04:19That is correct.
04:20You don't then twist your body and turn them into a lawn dart.
04:24That is, the last half second of that play is where Mason McCormick took it from a football
04:30play.
04:31And by the way, if it was just a football play, why was it flagged for a penalty?
04:35For a 15-yard penalty?
04:37This idea of, oh, well, this is what you're taught to do.
04:40Speak out up in the air.
04:41What happens, happens.
04:42I've watched that a million times.
04:43And I've never, I shouldn't say never, but I've rarely seen a special teams player get
04:49turned into a lawn dart.
04:51Hurst really wanted to call them dirty after the game.
04:53He knew he couldn't.
04:53He had no legs to stand on.
04:55He really wanted to call them dirty.
04:56The things he would have said if the game had been reversed would have been electric.
05:00And with respect to Jared, because everyone's piling on right now, and I don't want to be
05:05just another schnook piling on, but he kind of needs to hear this.
05:10Jared, you talk too much after loss two.
05:14It's one thing to talk entirely too much before the game and use words like dominate and then
05:19go get dominated, when you have things that you said, like I stand by everything I said
05:24and I went out there and stood on business.
05:26You didn't stand on business.
05:27You got stood on by the business.
05:29That's what happened yesterday.
05:31So that is like, there are, but again, every, there's a lesson in every loss.
05:36There's a lesson in every domination.
05:38And if the Browns want to learn it, then this, this will be, it's a great test of the Todd
05:42Munkin era.
05:43It's a great test of that locker room.
05:45You guys got dog walked.
05:47There is no one, even Harold Fannin Jr., whom I love, even Harold Fannin Jr. can't walk
05:54away from that game saying there wasn't one play that he could have done 5% better, which
05:58might've given you an incremental chance to win that, or just be more competitive in that
06:03game.
06:03That was a total team loss.
06:05Everybody failed.
06:07None of you get passing marks.
06:08All right.
06:09For one week only, y'all stank booty cheeks.
06:12All right.
06:14There is another game coming up and how you respond to that will tell you even as much
06:19as this last week and getting dog walked after talking about the game going into it.
06:23It's losing to Jacksonville, getting embarrassed in week one and not letting that define the
06:26season and then spiral out of the way.
06:28And so like, they have to now go back to that.
06:29Well, and they have to find a way to, to answer for what was an atrocious game and a game
06:34that
06:34I don't know that anybody saw coming necessarily from that much of a domination by Pittsburgh.
06:39I'm sure you can, there's all sorts of people that believe the Steelers were going to win
06:42ask Pony.
06:43My goodness.
06:44I can't imagine what he was feeling and thinking as that game is going on, understanding that
06:49there's no world that has to exist where he eats dog poop.
06:51That's nice for Pony.
06:52I think he just wanted to eat the poop.
06:54I don't, I don't know.
06:54I want Pony to know the offer still stands for him.
06:58Mongo dropped a couple of bombs this weekend.
07:00I'll go out.
07:01We'll get a glove on.
07:02I'll fetch them.
07:03I'll overnight.
07:04I'm just happy we didn't have a poop off.
07:05I worried one of the local hosts here would then turn around and be like, and oh,
07:09I'll eat poop.
07:09If, and then you have a scenario where someone's eating poop.
07:12Yeah.
07:12We didn't have that.
07:13That part's nice.
07:14Who was going to be, who was going to, who was going to challenge someone to a poop off
07:18by the way?
07:18I think it was going to happen.
07:19I don't know who.
07:19Yeah.
07:20Not me.
07:20It's not Volnick.
07:21It's not you or I.
07:22Tell you that much.
07:23Not Baskin or Phelps.
07:25Somebody wanted to get in the mud.
07:26That's probably that cannoli in the morning.
07:28That cannoli.
07:28Yeah.
07:29Somebody, somebody wanted to get in the mud.
07:30Talk about making your name out there.
07:32Yeah.
07:32And by the way, there's, cause Lima is also Italian.
07:35It's not Lima.
07:35Yeah.
07:36It's, it's the, it's the, the Dunce producer they have there.
07:39216-474-0092.
07:43You kicked it old school.
07:44Okay.
07:45I can't help it that nobody likes him and everybody thinks he's kind of an idiot.
07:49Okay.
07:50No, I, no, I'm sorry.
07:51Kind of.
07:52Jax, you laughed too hard at that.
07:54You laughed too hard at that, Jax.
07:56Vincent in Virginia.
07:56Welcome to the show.
07:58How are you guys doing?
07:59Doing all right.
08:00What you got for us?
08:01Uh, I never was on the delusional Browns are a good team.
08:07They've beaten the Titans, the Ravens with a backup quarterback.
08:11Yeah.
08:11The Steelers.
08:12They, they beat Steelers.
08:14That's only good team they've beaten.
08:16That's still a team.
08:17That's still a good team.
08:18Yeah.
08:19The Steelers are a good team.
08:20I get them crowded for that, but I'm telling you what the quarterback play and with the line
08:24play, you're not beating teams like the Steelers on a regular basis, Jacksonville, Kansas City,
08:31Denver, they will get blown away.
08:33How many of those teams are left on their schedule?
08:37Um, none.
08:38I believe they have, uh, they have, they're going to lose Sunday.
08:42They're going to lose to New Orleans Sunday.
08:44If you lose to the Jets, you're going to lose to New Orleans.
08:46I'll tell you right now, people are acting as if the Saints stink and they do, their defense
08:49is atrocious.
08:50You're not, the Browns are not going to be favored in that game.
08:53They're not.
08:53They're already at two and a half.
08:56Yeah.
08:56The book of wine, the book of wine line already has the book ahead line, excuse me, already
09:00has them as, uh, I saw it at three.
09:02You saw two and a half, but yeah, they're not, they're not going to end up favored in
09:05this game by the time we get going.
09:07And then one other thing, um, I think Monk in wants, uh, Gabriel's backup quarterback.
09:12I don't know if they're going to trade Shadour, but he should have let Shadour play the
09:16second half.
09:16And then that way you can at least evaluate whether it's the line is totally garbage or if
09:23Shadour can do something differently with the line.
09:26Vincent, which one of Shadour's three passes on Sunday do you think gave you hope that
09:32he could get the ball out quicker than Deshaun did behind that offensive line on Sunday?
09:36Well, I mean, he came in, he came in, in, in, in a crucial situation, yard, uh, backed
09:42up with the, uh, uh, yard age.
09:45All I'm saying, give him an opportunity to just to see if it was any different.
09:50It's not a Shadour to Deshaun thing.
09:52I want to see if this quarterback gives me any difference than Deshaun in the sense, getting
09:59the ball out, this, that, the other, and not getting sacked 33 times.
10:03You know, in a game.
10:05Vincent, we appreciate you.
10:06Thank you very much.
10:072-1-6-4-7-4-0-0-9-2.
10:10Uh, Annick Wilson says, at J. Peter Lynn, did the talking come back to haunt the Browns?
10:16Is, do you think the talking led to the, uh, butt beating that you saw yesterday?
10:21Uh, we'll get more into the Deshaun stuff in the three o'clock hour.
10:24Um, I, I don't, uh, Shadour looked like he was very much overwhelmed by the moment as
10:32he should have been because everybody else looked overwhelmed by the moment once Shadour
10:36came in.
10:36And it's not a Shadour fault then.
10:38That's what I'm trying to say.
10:39I'm saying Shadour wasn't necessarily going to be able to calm the troops down in that
10:43moment.
10:44I don't see putting him in the second half.
10:45It looked a lot like it did last year when he had no offensive line as well, too.
10:48That's the funny thing out of this game is that everyone's like, oh, no offensive line.
10:52And they were awful.
10:52And it's like, yeah, yeah, we watched this.
10:54We watched it.
10:55It was all last year when they rated out the worst offensive line in the sport.
10:58But I do think this is just one loss.
11:00I do.
11:01I don't, I can't really sell you a lot because you got dominated in every facet of the game.
11:06Now you got five wins by a combined 16 points and you have three losses by a combined 50.
11:10So what we're learning here is that your, your wins are, you're just eking out wins in one
11:14score games and your losses for two of them have been absolutely atrocious.
11:19I just, the, the, the peace of mind that I want to give everyone is you still have a
11:24very doable schedule.
11:26The final nine games, uh, the saints game is a winnable game.
11:30Like it is right there for the Cleveland Browns.
11:33It doesn't take any salt out of the wound today.
11:35And the fact that that game happened against the Steelers where it felt like you were on
11:40the precipice of finally pushing through.
11:43Okay, guys.
11:44Well, like we said on, we said on Friday, I said on Friday, Hey, this is an opportunity to
11:48steal this rivalry back.
11:50The Browns showed you they weren't ready for that.
11:52And that's okay.
11:53It doesn't mean that they'll never be ready.
11:56No, it does kind of lean towards the idea that maybe they're, maybe they're a little
12:00bit further away than people were thinking when you got up to a five and two start.
12:03That doesn't mean you're cooked.
12:04The schedule, as you mentioned is incredibly easy moving forward.
12:07The only team that'll really give you any sort of pause or scare is the bangles at best
12:11outside of that.
12:12I mean, it's all, it's all right there for you to win a lot of games.
12:14You're not going to be taken very seriously.
12:16I don't think that's going to ever really come into play this year, but that's okay.
12:20All right.
12:20So we have a piece of audio from Todd Munkin.
12:22We're going to play in the next segment, but I actually just want to, I actually want
12:25to play this bit of Jared Verse talking about after the game, his comments and obviously
12:32his reaction to this game.
12:33I stand by everything I say.
12:35And as a man, you have to naturally do that.
12:37I think we could have definitely did more to just present ourselves as the team that we
12:40are.
12:40We didn't, I don't know who the hell that team was that walked out there and presented themselves.
12:43We didn't do enough across the board from the first, you know, from the first quarter
12:46to the last quarter.
12:47All right.
12:47Now I want to play Jaquan Brisker who called out Jared Verse's performance.
12:52Well, he should have kept his mouth shut.
12:54All that talking and, you know, to come out with zero tackles, I mean, that's bad.
12:57You know, you didn't stand behind with your words and you didn't stand on business.
13:01So he got to look himself in the mirror and, you know, get better.
13:03All right.
13:04Now here is Mason McCormick talking about versus play.
13:07I really had no idea who it was.
13:09Just felt somebody jump.
13:11And we're told to get jumpers hands down.
13:14That's really it.
13:15Yeah.
13:15I don't know why that was.
13:16Yeah.
13:16Well, I am like a Persian rug out there.
13:18That's ridiculous.
13:19Listen, if you want to go into the coach speak of this, of this is how offensive linemen
13:23are played.
13:24Okay.
13:24Then just admit, you knew it was Jared Verse.
13:26Which I think everyone would have been fine with.
13:28Because I think once you lie that you didn't know it was Jared Verse, everything else has
13:32to be thrown out.
13:33Wouldn't that have just been so obvious?
13:34Like, yeah, of course I knew it was Jared Verse.
13:35I was trying to pile drive his body into the ground.
13:38Yeah.
13:38Yeah.
13:38I didn't like his smack talk.
13:40And I didn't like the fact that I thought he cheap shotted me in the Thursday night game,
13:43hitting me in the jaw.
13:44And I wanted some comeuppance.
13:45That's a man that's worried about his fine.
13:47Yeah.
13:47That's a man that's worried.
13:48But anyway, in that instance, take your fine and move on.
13:50It's going to be $13,000.
13:52You're getting it regardless of what you say in the postgame anyway.
13:54Take your fine and move on.
13:56Fine's not enough for me.
13:57I want him suspended.
13:58He's not getting suspended.
13:59Yeah, but I want him suspended.
14:00You default to suspension a lot.
14:02Yeah, because I don't think people get suspended enough.
14:04If you were commissioner, there'd be a lot of suspensions out there.
14:07I hit him with the pocketbook.
14:08Especially jabronis from South Dakota State that forgot that he looks like...
14:12The old Jackrabbits.
14:14Oh, Pugsley from the Adams family.
14:16Yeah.
14:16Yeah, that's what Mason McCormick looks like, and he's dumping people on their head.
14:19By the way, Coach Reisland is going to join us at 340,
14:23is also continuing to disagree with me.
14:26I don't care, Coach.
14:27I disagree with you as well.
14:282-1-6.
14:29About the play?
14:30Yeah.
14:30Yeah.
14:31Well, we'll get him on at 340.
14:32I want to hear Coach's explanation.
14:33I'm shocked that football guys tend to protect other football guys.
14:36I'm very surprised by that.
14:37I think he's protecting somebody?
14:39I think he's just...
14:39I mean, football's...
14:40The whole point of the football culture is to downplay and to insulate the thing.
14:48And, like, again, make a Fitzpatrick hit.
14:50Not dirty.
14:50Just a bang-bang play.
14:52Okay.
14:53That's crock.
14:54That's a crock of crap.
14:55No, I mean, I hear if you leave your feet, you get to pick somebody up
14:57and toss them into the stands.
14:58I hear that's what happens, right?
14:59Don't you?
15:00If they leave their feet, Nick, you're taught you can basically do whatever you want.
15:04That's why I'm glad.
15:04You want to bring out a chainsaw?
15:06As long as they lift up their feet, whatever you want to do.
15:09Yep.
15:10Open season.
15:10You got a baseball bat.
15:11Open season.
15:12That's what they're taught to do.
15:13Once those feet get off the ground, it is open.
15:15Let's see.
15:15Let's do it.
15:16Let's give totop
15:16Let's go.
