00:04Do you want me to start at like the very beginning?
00:09Trust your instincts and not try and fit yourself into a mold or genre of what other people
00:16are doing so that your work is more acceptable.
00:19Make work that you really believe in and then find the market for it afterwards.
00:24It's putting in the hours and trying to be brave enough to just put yourself out there
00:30as much as you possibly can.
00:32The first photography class I ever took, I remember watching a print come up in the developing
00:39bath and it felt like magic and at that moment I knew that photography was what I wanted to
00:45do with my life.
00:48My personal key to success is no social life and working relentlessly.
00:56Very little about the job is actually pushing the camera button.
01:01It starts with sort of having dreams about things and being inspired and then I get to
01:05go treasure hunting to find props and wardrobe and a team of people to work with.
01:10I'm particularly drawn to taxidermy because I'm really fascinated by animals in particular.
01:17You know, it's a lot easier to handle a piece of taxidermy than a live tiger would be tricky.
01:25I love the small details of things and finding things that I feel like other people haven't
01:30noticed.
01:31I get to have donut parties with pigs and hang out of hot air balloons and kiss frogs and
01:37I get to be a mermaid and see the circus and really anything that I can think of I can
01:44recreate.
01:45So I basically get to make the world the way I want it.
01:48Who doesn't like that?
01:50My name is Claire Rosen and I am a fashion and fine art photographer.
