00:04My name is Ruby Keane and my artist in residence is Open Your Heart.
00:09I personally use my art as a means to escape.
00:12I use it as a form of relaxation, it's a really therapeutic thing to me.
00:19It's a time when I can just sit and create and use my hands
00:24and that's a really important process that I like to bring into my everyday life.
00:33The part of the process I love the most when collaging is deciding the imagery that I'm going to use
00:41and thinking about the colour and the texture of the piece.
00:48So much of my work is built on the different images and the different materials I use
00:53and sourcing and finding and developing that kind of initial stage is really exciting.
00:58I like to think of snapshots into another reality.
01:02A lot of it comes from what I see in the world.
01:07I wanted to create a space for people to create windows into their identity and into their reality.
01:15I hope people take away a desire to create using their hands and make space to create.
