00:00There's an unbelievable community of women building companies, growing companies, and
00:04so just getting to know all of these different women and all of their different kind of definitions
00:10of what it means to be a modern woman is very inspiring to me.
00:21The idealized female in modern culture is so varied, like we don't just have this blonde
00:27pin-up, like silent movie star anymore, and really being feminine or authentic is more
00:34about being truthful and honest and vulnerable.
00:37People kind of stereotype and say that emotions aren't strength, so women are kind of looked
00:42at as the weaker of sex.
00:44We're realizing that emotions are very strong and to release your emotions is I think maybe
00:49a part of modern femininity that wasn't really looked at or accepted back in the day.
00:55I think we're at a really interesting point right now in which some of the old stereotypes
01:00about what women are like are starting to change.
01:03So we thought like, okay, well what if we told these stories, and we just really felt like
01:06no one was talking to women specifically.
01:09I'm going to let her tell this story.
01:11We met through my dear, dear, dear ex-boyfriend, whose name we shall never utter.
01:18Just doing Fashion Week together side by side and tag teaming it.
01:22I don't know, what season was that?
01:24Let's not say.
01:27One morning I went into yoga and there was this tall, gorgeous, supermodel string bean
01:31in the corner.
01:32And I was like, that's annoying, who wants to do yoga next to a model?
01:36I went home and Googled her.
01:37You did?
01:38Because I finally found out her name.
01:39I was about 19, and Bruce Springsteen walked into the store and he was wearing the most amazing
01:44pair of Levi's.
01:46I just wanted to ask him about his jeans.
01:48I wanted to know where they'd been and where they'd seen and how long he'd had them.
01:51And so we thought like, okay, well what if we told these stories?
01:54Yeah, we joke that we would make a killer angel investing pair as well.
01:58The nice, smiling one who's actually tough as nails underneath.
02:00The super organized one over here.
02:03We kind of have the same kind of personality.
02:06Like a little like feminine, but also like a little, I don't want to say hard-ass.
02:10Tough.
02:10You can cut that out.
02:11Yeah, a little tough.
02:12She has idea diarrhea.
02:14It just comes out like .
02:15I do have a lot of ideas.
02:16She gets annoyed with me because she really has to focus.
02:19And then she's like, okay, let's go.
02:20I was like, no, we have to go back to this.
02:23Bread, chocolate, and cheese, or jeans?
02:26Jeans.
02:26Dark and Stormy's.
02:28Oh my god.
02:30Jeans.
02:30That's a lot.
02:32I came along for something she was filming.
02:34You know, and we felt really proud and really happy to have, to be a part of you and
02:39your future.
02:40I'm sorry.
02:42I'm sorry.
02:43I'm like so emotional.
02:44No.
02:45No, it's going to make you cry.
02:47But that was, I think for me it was a moment where I realized like my friend, you're going
02:51to go miles beyond, but it was like a moment of like real success watching you.
02:56Later in your life, not that we're senior citizens, but to make real friends like after,
03:01like it just is so rare.
03:03You just need your friend, like the friends we make later in life.
03:05I need them to just be able to like always just be my like truest, rawest.
03:11There's no bullshit.
03:12Yeah.
03:13There's no time.
03:14There's no time.
03:15There's no time.
03:16I need them to count.
03:16Right.
03:17Right.
03:21All that time.
