00:00Nearly £9m could be spent tackling traffic jams on Soddy Hall's Chester Road. The council wants
00:07to widen sections of the A452 between Moor End Avenue and Coles Hill Heath Road into dual
00:12carriageway. Junctions will be improved with cycle lanes moved off the main road and pavements
00:17resurfaced. Consultations showed strong support for these improvements. The scheme aims to improve
00:24access to Birmingham Business Park, the NEC and the planned HS2 station. Counselors have approved
00:30the appointment of a contractor. Funding approval from the West Midlands Combined Authority is still
00:35needed though. If granted, work could start in April 2027 and take around a year.
