00:00Work is wrapping up this morning on the brand new Charlevoix streetscape project here in Grosse Pointe Park.
00:08We're talking about Charlevoix from Beaconsfield, which is in the park, all the way to Alter, which is in the
00:13city of Detroit.
00:14As you can see, it's all ready to go and it's opened up to drivers again.
00:18But the main focus of this is the pedestrians.
00:20As you can see, curbless streets, new sidewalks, new crosswalks as well.
00:26The whole point is to make it more walkable and pedestrian friendly.
00:30There's going to be a big party later today to celebrate the grand opening of the new Charlevoix project.
00:35All the Grosse Pointe mayors will be here, Mayor Mary Sheffield as well.
00:38As you can see, they're putting up the mums.
00:40It'll be a Halloween-themed event.
00:43But there are a lot of bars and restaurants and shops and a coffee shop here as well along Charlevoix
00:48and Grosse Pointe Park.
00:49And now it's going to be a whole lot easier to walk to all those popular spots.
