00:19The alerts first started to come in a little after 2 o'clock this afternoon.
00:22An F-16 fighter jet from Texas crashed in Blair Township, that's south of Traverse City.
00:28This happened during a training exercise.
00:31The emergency call recorded to air traffic controllers indicating that a different pilot was concerned.
00:37The jet hit a bird.

00:46Their township supervisor telling WWJ the lone pilot was able to eject safely and is conscious and alert.
00:54Grand Traverse County Emergency Management issuing an evacuation order for anyone within one mile of that crash site.
