We are into the final week of campaigning before Election Day, November 3rd. Just before kicking off a 'Knock Out The Vote' tour in Detroit on Monday, Michigan U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed joined WWJ's Jackie Paige and Chris Fillar live in studio. He talked about the difference between himself and Republican Mike Rodgers, and what it is he wants for Michiganders.

Note: We have asked several times for Mike Rogers to come in for an interview, and are waiting on a response.**Editor's note: We have asked several times for Mike Rogers to come in for an interview, and are waiting on a response.

00:00Here's the difference. You heard what President Obama and I and all of us on that stage a couple
00:05nights ago were talking about. We were talking about the price of gas. We were talking about
00:08the price of groceries. We were talking about the insanity of this war and the ridiculousness
00:11of these tariffs. And then you heard what Donald Trump and Mike Rogers were talking about yesterday.
00:16They were talking about me. I'm not running to defend myself. I'm running to defend the 10 million
00:20people in the state who deserve a lot better than they've gotten. So you can tell, you know,
00:24right now in the closing arguments of a campaign, the real question is why are you running? I'm
00:28running because I want people to have healthcare. I'm running because I want people to afford their
00:31lives. I guess they're running because they don't like me. That's a bad reason to run. And it tells
00:36you what their focus is. And in the end, Mike Rogers has been very clear. He's running because
00:40Donald Trump called him up and asked him. He wanted another vote in the United States Senate
00:43to backstop his policies. What has that gotten us? More expensive gas, more expensive groceries,
00:48lies about, oh, we're never going to go to war again. And then here we are going to war again.
00:51It makes no sense. We can do a lot better.
