00:00WWJ's Luke Sloan in Grosseal this morning, right in front of the Grosseal Toll Bridge,
00:05which as you can see is completely shut down. The sign says, road closed.
00:10And if you zoom in, you can see the reason why the bridge is not closed.
00:14According to Grosseal Township, there were training exercises happening on the bridge.
00:19And during those exercises, there was some kind of malfunction, mechanical problem,
00:23and it did not allow the bridge to close. Right now it's swung open like a gate.
00:27But crews are here on scene making repairs to the bridge.
00:31There's no timetable on when it will reopen.
00:33In the meantime, drivers are asked to take the Grosseal Free Bridge,
00:36and I'd plan for some extra time if you do plan on taking the Free Bridge to get on the
00:40island
00:40because there is some extra traffic because there's no cars right now on the Toll Bridge
00:45because the bridge won't close due to some kind of mechanical malfunction during training exercises.
00:51As you can see here, kind of bizarre what the scene looks like right now.
00:54The only way on or off the island is by using the Free Bridge.
