00:00BetOnline sent me some recent odds, including the favorite in the NFC East as of today.
00:05Ralph, who is it?
00:08The Cowboys.
00:09The Cowboys after we all kind of leaned towards the Giants on Monday.
00:14Bob?
00:15I didn't say I was right.
00:17Cowboys.
00:18See, you already got...
00:19It's already happening.
00:20It's already happening.
00:21Am I right?
00:23You are right.
00:25Did you read my email?
00:26I did.
00:27Wow!
00:28I read odds yesterday, or two days ago.
00:31Cowboys, 6-5, plus 120, are the favorites.
00:35The Giants, 7-5, plus 140.
00:38And then the Commanders, 7-1.
00:41Eagles, 16-1.
00:43Ooh.
00:44Ooh-hoo-hoo-hoo.
00:45Fly, Eagles, fly.
00:46Is that just protecting against better talent and a starting quarterback?
00:51Yeah, probably.
00:53Is 16-1, like with the 16-1 number you mean?
00:56No, for the Cowboys to be favored.
00:57Oh, okay.
00:59Yeah, I would guess, right?
01:01Like, that's just more you're waiting for the shoe to drop with the Giants
01:04and thinking Dallas will start picking up these victories against Arizona and Indy,
01:10although they've beaten Arizona once in their last nine games against them.
01:13Yeah, they're just protecting against having the best quarterback.
01:19Like, that's really what it is.
01:20They don't want to give whoever the best quarterback is in any division that much of leeway with odds.
01:27Because I hate looking at the next three or four for the Giants at the Eagles, host the Commanders, host
01:32Jacksonville at Indy.
01:35So, that could be seven and three for them.
01:39And they're what now?
01:40Four, two, and one.
01:42Yeah, I mean, I'm thinking, like, they would split those games.
01:46Like, if you're a Giants fan, you should split those at worst.
01:50Right?
01:50That's your low end?
01:51Yeah, low end.
01:52Yeah.
01:52And then, you know, Jacksonville has not played great.
01:56You can obviously beat the other teams.
01:57You can beat Washington.
01:59Jacksonville's been really good this year.
02:00Last two games, they've, I mean, they lost to Houston.
02:03They lost to Philly.
02:04Or they barely beat Philly.
02:06Yeah.
02:07But, yeah, you're right.
02:07They've been really good this year, the last two games.
02:09They kind of, but those were also in London.
02:11The spread for Arizona is seven.
02:16It's creeping up.
02:17Your favorite by seven with a 54 and a half over under.
02:21That might be the highest we've had this year.
02:23I've seen it.
02:24I remember 53 and a half a couple of times.
02:26That might be the highest one we've seen this year.
02:27That might be the highest in the league.
02:29I don't recall a higher one.
02:30Maybe the Buffalo-Detroit game was higher.
02:34That's a really, really big number.
02:37Last night, I was on Arizona Radio.
02:40Wolfley, huh?
02:43No.
02:44Gambo?
02:45Was it Gambo?
02:45It was Gambo.
02:46Gambo.
02:46Is that the guy we can never track down or get on?
02:48I should have made a trade to where I'm like,
02:50not going on yours unless you come on ours.
02:53We got the better guest anyway.
02:54Yeah, it might be him, Gambo.
02:56John Gambadoro?
02:57Yeah.
02:58Yeah, it might be him.
02:58They were entertaining, but I was like,
03:02hey, tell me something.
03:04Josh Sweat.
03:05How good is he?
03:07And they're like, nah, he's fine.
03:09He's not going to be a difference maker.
03:11A little bit of a down year.
03:13Maybe a little pouty that he's not getting his new money.
03:15And that extension.
03:16I'm out on Josh Sweat.
03:17I'm out on Josh Sweat for what it will cost.
03:20I'm out on Josh Sweat for what it will cost.
03:23And then I'm out on Josh Sweat for what he will do for this defense.
03:27So I'm out.
03:28Unless it's going to be.
03:30What's the assumption on the cost that you're saying you wouldn't want?
03:33A second or a third.
03:35Okay.
03:35And then I don't want to sit there and pay him if he is just a good player.
03:43So if it's way under market value, like if there's no market for him and they unload him for a
03:48four.
03:48In.
03:49Okay.
03:49But he's still got to pay.
03:51I mean, he's had one double-digit sack year.
03:55Last year he had 12.
03:57Fantastic.
03:58He's had eight, six and a half, seven and a half.
04:00I'm sorry.
04:01He's had two double-digit sack years.
04:02So 12 and an 11, that's good.
04:05But I'll just go off for them.
04:07Bobby, you a big fan of his, Josh Sweat?
04:09I like him.
04:10He's not Crosby or anybody else like that.
04:13It's not like a guy of like, ooh, everything's solved.
04:15But I like him.
04:16He's good.
04:16But right now, just overall, buy, sell, hold mode.
04:21You're in buy mode.
04:22Why?
04:23Because you're like, the chips are already there.
04:24I've already committed with Joey.
04:26Yeah.
04:27I mean, just so to me, sell is kind of not an option.
04:31Because that just means pickens and you're going to move him in the offseason anyway.
04:35I don't know that you're getting more for him now than you will in the offseason.
04:38So to me, it's like, all right, sell isn't really an option.
04:41So you could just stand pat, not like sacrifice any resources.
04:45And that's fine if they do it.
04:47I would lean towards just if like Max Crosby is available on a deal or something, I would
04:51just go get him just for the next two to three years.
04:54Like Jerry says, it wouldn't, can't be a rental.
04:57Like this team's not worth a rental.
04:59But if you're telling me it's somebody who's good for the next two to three years or here
05:02for the next two to three years, yeah, I'll go make the move for him.
05:04What do you think they get for pickens in the offseason versus now?
05:10It depends on how much things change.
05:13If it was, you know, if he's like playing this way the rest of the season, the way he's
05:17played so far, then a second, they probably have to negotiate a second, something like
05:21that.
05:21Yeah.
05:22Ben Solak with a trade.
05:23I love all these trade ideas and possibilities and all these scenarios being thrown out.
05:28So he was making this.
05:29Ben Solak pickens, picket, picket, picketers.
05:32Yes.
05:33Josh Clark, Aiden, don't do us dirty with the recap.
05:36Would you trade him for this and this?
05:37This is Ben Solak trade idea.
05:40Right.
05:40And this is to the Chiefs.
05:42So this is an article.
05:43This is a longer form piece on the Chiefs and who they are.
05:47They want to get a wide receiver.
05:48George is going to have to go around and smack somebody before.
05:50Yeah, Antonio Brown, Tyreek Hill.
05:52Who else have committed crimes?
05:55Justin Tucker.
05:56Yeah.
05:57One option, and I'm going to use this one as a comparative deal.
06:03They send Xavier Worthy and a three to Jacksonville for Brian Thomas.
06:11Okay.
06:13They send a fourth to the Eagles for Dontavian Wicks.
06:18All right.
06:20And they send a three and conditional five to the Cowboys for George Pickens.
06:28No.
06:32That's, yeah, that's reputation-based compensation, I'm guessing.
06:37That's not enough for me to do a deal with them.
06:39No.
06:40No.
06:40I thought you were going to throw a three and a five?
06:42You should be the one having a cardiac arrest over that.
06:45I am.
06:46Because, like, is Worthy and a three better than a three and a five?
06:53Yes.
06:53I would think so.
06:54Yeah.
06:54So, Brian Thomas.
06:56Now, Worthy's been hurt and has not, like, totally become the guy that he was supposed
07:01to be there yet.
07:02But you're getting, like, it's still, like, you're getting Xavier Worthy.
07:05Like, whatever he is, whatever he has left.
07:07I mean, he's played three years.
07:09Yeah.
07:09Like, so whatever you can get out of him.
07:12I mean, to me.
07:13You've got to hide your wife from him, too.
07:15Oh, wow.
07:16To me, I'd rather have Worthy and the three than the three and a five.
07:19So, that's telling me that they value Brian Thomas more?
07:22Surely not.
07:24Surely not.
07:24I mean, a lot of people think Brian Thomas is still a good player.
07:27Like, we were just talking yesterday when his name came up.
07:29You guys were like, what happened to him out there?
07:31A lot of people just think he's, that is a change of scenery case.
07:35Like, he just needs to get out of there and that he'll be good again.
07:38Jacksonville just kind of fell out of love with him last year.
07:41The write-up is, if Pickens would recoup a third-round compensatory pick in free agency,
07:46the Chiefs can sweeten it with a future pick conditional on production levels
07:50and give the Cowboys their third-round pick back
07:53without having to manipulate the formula this offseason.
07:57How they play in weeks eight and nine will have a big impact here.
08:00Dude, if he goes for a three and a five, first off, the Picketers,
08:03they're going to lose their mind.
08:05When he leaves, which I'm 90% at least that he leaves,
08:09they'll lose their minds over that.
08:11If he got dealt for a three and a five.
08:13Cannot do that.
08:14Oh, my word.
08:15What if you use the fifth for Josh Downs?
08:17And then you get Pickens.
08:19You get a third in Josh Downs for Pickens.
08:21Josh Downs requesting out of Indianapolis with the fire sale.
08:25You're trying to put that together?
08:27I'm like, Josh Downs is good.
08:29Josh Downs is really good.
08:31And his brother.
08:32No doubt.
08:33To quote Gavin Dawson, I would guess.
08:36But he's a really good receiver.
08:39Now, the only problem is he's a little smaller,
08:41as is the case with the Downs boys, a little smaller.
08:45But, man, I think he's like, if you are going to move on from Pickens
08:49and there's availability there and there might be, like, a value to get,
08:54even if you're not going to move on from Pickens this season,
08:56you've got to reshuffle your room the rest of the year with Flannoy
08:58and having four guys in there, I would go make the move for Downs
09:00if you're saying I'm going to need a third receiver next year.
09:03San Francisco is talking receiver, and they had our boy Mark Slareth,
09:07weekly guest on the G-Bag Nation, and they asked, is it Stink or Skank?
09:12Stink.
09:13Stink.
09:13They asked Stink, what do you think about the 49ers trying to get old GP?
09:18I think you've got to always be careful about, you know, who's on the open market.
09:24Like, I'll just be honest with you.
09:26The name that keeps coming up to me is George Pickens.
09:28I wouldn't put that guy on my football team if my life depended on it.
09:33Yeah, he'll make the spectacular.
09:35He will.
09:36But then, you know, you'll see him standing around killing grass half the game.
09:42You know, he's not going to get involved in blocking anybody.
09:45That just does not fly with Kyle Shannon.
09:49Boy, football people don't like Pickens.
09:52That's what I like.
09:52I mean, honestly, that's what a lot of it comes down to.
09:54Players like him, but I mean, like, football analysts, people who coach and everything else,
09:59whenever they talk about him, they always ding him.
10:01It just doesn't appear like he goes all out.
10:04Yeah, and a lot of it is just kind of the style he plays.
10:07It really is just kind of a, like...
10:10But as Jesse Hawley said, DallasCowboys.com, he's like, hey, man, I could show you Randy Moss,
10:16Jerry Rice.
10:18Stop putting all this emphasis on this man to block.
10:20You didn't bring him in here to block.
10:22Brian Schottenheimer is not going to fight that battle.
10:25He's not going to win that battle, so stop trying to fight that battle.
10:29Go ahead and throw the man in the football.
10:31You did bring him in, though, to, like, make a difference in, like, the key game of the year,
10:35like, against Detroit.
10:36And you do not see Jerry Rice and Randy Moss, like, unless it's the Raiders' Randy Moss,
10:41loafing routes in a big game like that.
10:44Speaking of trades, a regrade done for Quinton Williams, the new leader of the Dallas defense?
10:49New leader, yeah.
10:50Yeah, they went and re-
10:51Schottenheimer's like, he gave this epic speech.
10:53I'm not going to tell you guys.
10:54You can ask him about it.
10:55As Nick Eatman's going to find out, Quinton's probably not going to tell you anything.
10:58But that's this great speech that Quinton apparently gave, as he has really played well the last two games.
11:04So they regraded this, and, you know, I don't have a...
11:07It didn't say that they took into account what the Jets did with the picks for the Cowboys,
11:13but they did take into account what the Jets did with the picks for the Jets grade.
11:18So, like, if, you know, obviously if the Jets had gotten, you know, the second coming of T.J. Watt
11:23with their draft pick,
11:25that could have dinged the Cowboys.
11:28They didn't do it like that.
11:29So they did grade this.
11:31They did give the Cowboys a B.
11:32A one-year-later grade of a B grade gave the Jets a C.
11:36And the trade was, it was Mozzie, the second-round pick last year,
11:41which the Jets traded in the draft and it wound up becoming D'Angelo Pons.
11:46I think the original pick wound up being Derek Moore out of Michigan, the defensive end.
11:52And then they also get the Cowboys' first-round pick this year,
11:54and it will be the better...
11:56Better.
11:57The better of the two, so they get their choice.
11:59So they did give the Cowboys a B grade, and the write-up is Dallas defense still a disaster.
12:05Quinton offers solid run-stopping ability.
12:08Six tackles for a loss.
12:10The first six games, they were the most by a Cowboys defensive tackle since 2013.
12:16And were tied for the most of any defensive tackle in the league this year.
12:20He is delivering what they paid for when they parted with all those draft picks
12:24inside of the $105 million extension, even if it's short of the all-pro caliber production
12:28he had in New York.
12:30It is not translated to an improvement on the defensive side of the ball as a unit, though.
12:34Well, they paid for all-pro player.
12:38So that's not correct in the analysis of, like, they got what they paid for.
12:42No, they didn't.
12:43That is not what they paid for.
12:43What they paid for was to get an all-pro player.
12:45I still think the deal is worth it.
12:48I would still trade for Quinton.
12:49I would do what they did to get Quinton Williams here.
12:51But, yeah, he's got to be...
12:53What do you think he's been here, grade?
12:55I thought it was really great when he first got here, and then this year he's been figuring
12:59things out with the scheme.
13:00So it's a little incomplete, I guess.
13:01But I'd say...
13:02B?
13:02B-plus?
13:03B-plus.
13:04Yeah.
13:05B-plus.
13:05Yeah.
13:06I mean, look, if you get a bunch of B-pluses on your team, I mean, that's a hell of
13:09a team.
13:09Well, what would your grade be?
13:11You.
13:14I was hoping for more, so I would have to, like, that's clouding my judgment.
13:19I was hoping for an easy A.
13:21But I think he's been...
13:22There's nothing been, like, wrong with him.
13:24I would say a B.
