00:00Now, let's scout the Arizona Cardinals.
00:05This is a team that they have only won at SoFi Stadium this year,
00:10beating both the Chargers and the Rams.
00:12But that's just a weird factoid.
00:15And here's another thing I want to go back to.
00:17You know, people are like, don't get too charged up about beating the Eagles.
00:22They suck.
00:22Agreed.
00:23But, I mean, you had to beat them.
00:26And if you look at your schedule ahead, it's not particularly daunting.
00:31You have San Francisco.
00:32That could be tough.
00:33You have Arizona.
00:34They stink.
00:36Although they have the Cowboys number, it feels like.
00:38You have the Colts.
00:39They're in the middle of a fire sale.
00:41You have Tennessee.
00:42They're one of the worst teams in the league.
00:44And then you play Philadelphia again, and we just established that they're horrendous.
00:49You need to go, or you should go, 4-1 in these games.
00:53But with the Cowboys, who the hell knows?
00:56So whenever you're talking about, like, oh, you didn't beat a good team, fair enough.
00:59You don't got a lot of good teams right ahead of you on the schedule.
01:03Kevin, Jerry Jones is involved in getting three stadiums built in the NFL.
01:13Allegiant Stadium in Nevada.
01:15Yep.
01:15Key proponent and advocate behind the Oakland Raiders relocation.
01:18Guess what?
01:19Cardinals do not play at Allegiant this year.
01:23AT&T Stadium, which we've been a part of.
01:26Yeah, that's our stadium.
01:27And SoFi Stadium, where he was a key instrumental broker and voting proponent helping Rams owner
01:33Stan Kroenke secure a 30-2 owner approval for construction and relocation.
01:40Do you think that Jacoby Brissett just wants to beat Jerry Jones that bad?
01:45That he's only willing to win games for the Arizona Cardinals in Jerry Jones-influenced stadiums?
01:52I do not.
01:54Okay.
01:54I think he's trying to do it so he can keep his job.
01:58If they go 3-14, though, and only win games in Jerry Stadiums.
02:02That would be kind of funny and weird.
02:05Yeah.
02:05But also, there's been a lot of buzz building that Gardner Minshew should be the quarterback.
02:12I bet there is.
02:13If you have a choice between him and Jacoby Brissett, neither one is a good option.
02:17Now, there is thought that Carson Beck will be back this week ready to practice.
02:22He's been out because of back spasms.
02:25So, you need something from Brissett, and you haven't gotten a lot of it.
02:30But part of the reason for that is the offensive line.
02:35So, Jacoby Brissett, this past weekend, he was hit 10 times on Sunday.
02:40A big part of the reason that that part has happened is last week against the Broncos,
02:46the Cardinals started their fourth different offensive combination.
02:49Keep in mind, they've only played seven games.
02:53And Hayden Conner, who's making his first career start, became the eighth different offensive lineman to start a game for
03:01Arizona this season.
03:02I'm not here to argue to you that Jacoby Brissett is awesome by any stretch of the imagination.
03:09But it certainly doesn't help that you've had a revolving door at offensive line, and he's been getting his ass
03:16kicked.
03:16Yeah, no, no, look, man, when you're having to put out different combinations of offensive linemen,
03:21it's brutal for you to have any synchronization, any true understanding of what responsibilities are, communication across the line.
03:29You see what happens.
03:30This offensive line this week looked really good.
03:32They did.
03:33Now, again, not a lot of blitzing against them, but they looked very good against what is considered a very
03:38good defensive front there.
03:40And that's because after a few weeks of working together, everybody's on the same page again.
03:44That's a big deal for sure.
03:46Do you want to stick with the offense?
03:48Yeah, let's...
03:48All right.
03:49So, it looks like Jeremiah Love is practicing today.
03:57He is.
03:58And he is going to be available for week eight.
04:00Are you concerned with him?
04:02I don't know that for a fact.
04:04He should be practicing today.
04:06But I don't know if that means he'll be back, but obviously that would lead you to believe that is
04:12the case.
04:12He has struggled mightily.
04:17Again, it could be the offensive line.
04:19It could be.
04:19But 3.7 yards per carry is not what you expected out of him.
04:22Absolutely not.
04:23And it's kind of giving you some of that, let's just say, Ashton Gentry vibes, right?
04:29Not necessarily just in terms of he might end up being overhyped, but he's not giving you production.
04:35Is the reason he's not giving you production because the offensive line?
04:39Well, guess what?
04:40Sure doesn't look like that offensive line is going to be totally fixed up this weekend.
04:44Yeah.
04:44So, if that's the case, then fine.
04:47So, this could easily backfire on me.
04:52Just like when I said if Green Bay didn't have all of the explosive pass plays, we would win.
04:57Whoops.
04:58I don't think I am concerned about Jeremiah Love because of a couple of different reasons.
05:03First of all, he's only had really one workhorse game, and that was against San Francisco, and their offense was
05:11humming along pretty well in that game.
05:13But he didn't put up devastating numbers or anything like that, even in the passing game when they were like,
05:19pass the ball, pass the ball to him.
05:20He was great for a fantasy perspective because he caught five passes, but none of them were long.
05:27And Bam Knight, for them in the running game also, he's one of those guys where if the game's close,
05:33they can utilize the run more.
05:34But when the game gets 15 points out, they're like, hey, let's try and use Jacoby Brissett's amazing arm to
05:40go do it.
05:40So, the run game itself, it got a lot of questions about what it is.
05:45There's one dude.
05:46There's two people on this offense, Kevin, that I think scare you, and one of them has zero drops this
05:52year.
05:53Is that Trey McBride?
05:54It's Trey McBride.
05:55Colo State, baby.
05:57I don't know if you've ever heard of him or not, but Trey McBride is fantastic, and he is terrifying
06:03because he's a No. 1 receiver, and he plays that way.
06:06Yeah, yeah.
06:07It is interesting.
06:10At a tight end, he's a No. 1 receiver.
06:12He leads the NFL in receptions with 59, and I think that is absolutely a fair point.
06:18What's interesting to me, though, is that hasn't translated to many touchdowns, although you probably won't be surprised to know
06:30that the Arizona's one touchdown the last two weeks, of course, came from Trey McBride.
06:37But think about...
06:38He's got the four.
06:39Everybody else has one.
06:41Yeah, and it...
06:42Oh, no, I'm sorry.
06:43Tegan Quattroiano has two.
06:45My apology.
06:46Who is that again?
06:47Tegan Quattroiano.
06:50You think he got it?
06:51Also a tight end.
06:52That's the director, huh?
06:53No, that is Quentin Tiagrano.
06:55Also a tight end.
06:55Just kidding.
06:56That's Quentin Tarantino.
06:57So receivers don't have two touchdowns.
06:59In the red zone, in the last two weeks, they have gotten to the red zone ten times.
07:06You're going to feel pretty good about that.
07:07If you make it to the red zone five times in a game, you're like, oh, hopefully we won that
07:12game.
07:12You know why they...
07:13I guess they did win the Rams game, but you know why they didn't win this last week?
07:18They're one for ten in scoring touchdowns.
07:21And I'll take my chances if they kick six field goals again like they did against the Rams.
07:27But yeah, the last two weeks, ten trips to the red zone, one touchdown.
07:33So the question has to be, not can the Cardinals move the ball?
07:36Because first of all, I have no doubt that they can move the ball to a certain extent against this
07:40Cowboys defense
07:41because they haven't shown us anything differently yet.
07:43But can they actually convert into touchdowns?
07:47Because that has been a massive problem for them these last couple of weeks.
07:50Interesting.
07:51I went and looked at his splits for Trey McBride.
07:55Okay.
07:56Twelve catches in the red zone for four touchdowns.
08:00So that's it.
08:01I don't have the targets there, but it's only twelve.
08:03And all four touchdowns, obviously.
08:05He's not breaking away for a 60-yarder.
08:07Right.
08:07He's got 30 catches between his own 21 and 50.
08:11So he has 307 yards in that area.
08:14That's where they really love to get him the football is as they're trying to get out of their zone.
08:19And then it seems like you would want to use him, I guess, not as many trips there and doing
08:25it frequently enough.
08:26From the 615, you take that back, Kevin.
08:30We got rolled by one hamstring Barkley.
08:32Take it back now before you jinx them.
08:34I don't necessarily believe in that, but I definitely don't believe in that for this defense.
08:40They can lose of their own accord without any help from me.
08:45All right.
08:45We'll talk some more, I think, about Trey McBride, surely, tomorrow.
08:50Okay.
08:50Do you want one more fun Trey McBride factoid?
08:53Did he win the lawsuit against that referee?
08:56There was no lawsuit.
08:57I think the referee just got suspended.
08:59Oh.
08:59When he said F you.
09:00Oh, yeah, he yelled at him.
09:02Yeah, yeah, yeah.
09:03Yeah, go ahead.
09:04Trey McBride also has seven-plus receptions in all seven games this season.
09:09No player in NFL history has done that for more than five games.
09:13And he has done it for seven.
09:15So that's going to be one of the questions, right?
09:18Is Trey McBride going to kill you once you get into Cowboys territory and move you into the red zone,
09:24and then you have to settle for field goal, field goal, field goal?
09:27Or is he going to finish off that and get into the end zone?
09:31That right there feels like that will be a huge decision maker in who wins that game.
09:37All right.
09:38For defense, well, guess what?
09:41Cardinals have a lot of problems on defense as well.
09:44We'll incorporate more.
09:46They also have a solution on defense.
09:48A solution for the Cowboys defense.
09:51Oh, there you go.
09:53All right.
09:53I like what you're doing.
09:54They gave up some huge plays against Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos.
09:59Going into that game, people were like, this offense is terrible.
10:03You're talking about the Denver offense.
10:04The Denver offense, yes.
10:06And so Arizona was like there to say, don't worry about it.
10:09We've got this.
10:11Bo Nix took off in a 62-yard scramble for a touchdown.
10:14He also hit a screen pass to RJ Harvey that ended up going for 52 yards.
10:21So Arizona gave up 377 yards and 222 passing yards to one of the least explosive offenses in the NFL.
10:31And so if the Broncos, who struggle stretching the field, had a couple of not only explosive plays but explosive
10:39touchdown plays,
10:40one would hope, perhaps think, that the Cowboys can really exploit that.
10:47I just hope, I guess, Kevin, my big deal is that 62-yard run, Bo Nix ran 19.9 miles
10:53per hour.
10:54You don't believe Dak's going to be dialing it up to that?
10:58There's hope, though, you know?
10:59I don't know if I do hope that happens.
11:01You think that that would be a terrifying thing for him?
11:03Yes, I do.
11:04Don't do that.
11:05No.
11:06Jog slower.
11:07Correct.
11:08I want him to run at the top speed that is Saquon's hamstring hurts speed.
11:14That jog off the field that Saquon was doing.
11:16That's the speed.
11:18That's the speed I want him to go at.
11:20Or about as far as he needs to run is what I'm hoping is that two-point conversion he had
11:25and the lanes as big as that was.
11:26That was a super, super fun up play right there.
11:31All right.
11:33Let's talk big picture for the Cardinals defense.
11:37The Cardinals are giving up their 24th in the league in yards given up per game.
11:44Not great.
11:45And this will put it into better perspective.
11:47They're only 19.4 yards fewer per game than the Cowboys.
11:51And I feel like that's the barometer I'm going to start to use, right?
11:54Because we're still not thrilled with the Cowboys defense.
11:57And I'm like, they're not that much better than the Cowboys defense.
12:00And you're going to be like, ooh, that's not good.
12:02Well, guess what?
12:03But they're worse than the Cowboys defense when it comes to scoring defense.
12:08They give up 29.7 points per game.
12:11That's four more points per game than the Cowboys.
12:14And this is where I think it's really interesting.
12:16So we talked about the Cardinals offense.
12:19They can move the ball.
12:21They can get into the red zone.
12:23But they cannot convert in terms of touchdowns.
12:26But it's the exact opposite when it comes to their defense.
12:30Their defense is, you know, bottom fourth defense when it comes up to giving up yardage.
12:35But they drop from 24 to 32 when it comes to the points.
12:40So while the offense can't convert for the points, their defense does nothing but give up the conversions for the
12:47points.
12:47Yeah.
12:47And that's a catastrophic combination right there.
12:51You know, quite honestly, when you look at their defense, Kevin, across the starting board, you're like, oh, there's some
12:58massive holes there.
12:59Sure.
13:00Talent-wise.
13:01You have some names that you're like, okay, that's interesting.
13:04That's interesting.
13:06But for the most part, this is a not very deep defense.
13:09Right.
13:10And a not very talented defense that for some reason can keep it close with the Rams.
