00:02Since 2018, the 790 Duke has defined what a mid-class naked bike should feel like.
00:07Light, agile, direct.
00:11Rightfully, it earned the name the Scalpel.
00:14Now we have taken that idea and pushed it further.
00:18The outcome is the most comprehensive evolution of the model history of the original Scalpel.
00:24This bike isn't built to overwhelm you.
00:26It's built to respond.
00:27Everything on this bike is about rider connection.
00:32What you ask is exactly what you get.
00:35This is the new KTM 790 Duke 2027.
00:41And we have focused on three things.
00:44Control, design, confidence.
00:48And each one plays a specific role.
00:58Starting with the design.
01:00It's inspired by the large Duke models.
01:03But it clearly has its own stance.
01:05The bike looks more grown, more mature and more planted.
01:09That's not by accident.
01:11Mainly driven by the new front section and the larger front fairing.
01:16That's what gives the bike the strong presence.
01:18At the front you see a new LED headlight.
01:21A single projector integrates both high and low beam.
01:25Surrounded by a positioning light running along the outer profile.
01:29And importantly, the space between the projector and the light stays open.
01:35That creates this very technical and almost floating look.
01:38Light, precise, premium.
01:41The tank is now flatter.
01:44More integrated into the bike.
01:46Which gives the overall silhouette a sportier, more horizontal stance.
01:51And at the center of the bike, the blackout engine cases becomes part of the overall design.
01:58Everything is cleaner, more focused.
02:01You see it in the details.
02:02A mix of high quality painted surfaces and technical textures.
02:06Built to look precise.
02:09Because that's what the bike is.
02:12Also, the exhaust is completely redesigned.
02:16From the muffler to the end cap, the heat shield and the heel guard.
02:21Everything fitting seamlessly into the bike.
02:24At the rear, positioning and brake light are integrated into the indicators.
02:29Which creates a much cleaner tail section.
02:33The LC8C engine stays true to its character.
02:37799 cubic centimeters.
02:39105 horsepower.
02:41Or 95 horsepower in Europe to meet the two license requirements.
02:45And delivers 87 Newton meters.
02:47We didn't change the character.
02:48Because it already fits this bike perfectly.
02:51Responsive.
02:52Powerful.
02:53Predictable.
02:54Exactly where you need it.
02:56And to support all of this.
02:57The new 5 inch TFT display comes in a new housing and coating for better clarity.
03:03Fast.
03:04Easy to read.
03:05The KTM 790 Duke has three ride modes as standard.
03:09Rain.
03:09Street.
03:10Sport.
03:11And optional track riding mode.
03:15Connectivity is available when you want it with the KTM Connect app.
03:19With features like turn-by-turn navigation, music or making phone calls.
03:24And based on rider feedback, we removed the demo mode.
03:29Optional, the bike can be equipped with the track pack or tech pack.
03:33One of these things would be the riding mode, track mode.
03:36Among other things, you will find the launch control, lap timer and much more.
03:42And the bike comes with four years Premier Manufacturer's warranty.
03:45The difference is not on paper.
03:48You feel it.
03:49The moment you turn in.
03:51It's lighter in your hands.
03:52More precise at the limit.
03:54More confidence everywhere.
03:56Talking about suspension.
03:59Confidence comes from knowing what the bike will do.
04:02Which is why the 2027 KTM 792 comes with fully adjustable suspension.
04:07At the front operates a WP Apex 43 mm open cartridge fork with 150 mm travel.
04:15The fork uses the known spit function design.
04:18Meaning, compression and rebound are separated.
04:22Which allows a more precise tuning of fork performance.
04:25Soft at the beginning of the stroke and becoming firmer, deeper into the travel to prevent bottoming out.
04:33Even more important, it's fully adjustable with a simplified 5-click system.
04:40Compression on the left fork and rebound on the right fork.
04:44You don't get lost in settings.
04:46You feel every step immediately.
04:49At the rear, we have a new WP Apex monotube shock with 5 mm longer stroke.
04:55At a total wheel travel of 170 mm, which is 20 mm more than the previous model.
05:01This results in better sensitivity over small bumps and more support in the initial travel.
05:08The rebound is adjustable with the same easy 5-click logic.
05:12Preload can be set manually.
05:14We want to encourage riders to use the 5-click system, so every rider can find their setup.
05:21No confusion, just confidence.
05:24Important to note, if you're on the shorter side, our Powerpads catalog offers a lowering kit.
05:30It reduces the seat height by 25 mm by reducing the stroke of the suspension.
05:42Braking requires both control and confidence.
05:46That's why the KTM 790 Duke has a completely new braking system for 2027.
05:53Including front and rear calipers, master cylinders and levers.
05:58Developed in-house by WP.
06:01In the front, 300 mm floating twin disc with radial-mounted 4-piston calipers.
06:06In the rear, 240 mm single disc with radial-mounted single-piston caliper.
06:12Even the rear brake ergonomics are improved for better accessibility.
06:16Overall, this results in more braking power, less lever effort, smooth mutilation, predictable response.
06:24So you always stay in control.
06:33Talking about control.
06:35The biggest improvement is how you connect to the bike.
06:39We developed a completely new rider triangle.
06:42The seat height stays at 825 mm, but it's narrow towards the tank.
06:49So you reach the ground easier.
06:52From the seat, you connect to the new reshaped 13.5-liter fuel tank.
06:58It gives you natural contact with your knees.
07:01No pressure points, but more stability in corners and also if you ride a little bit more sporty.
07:07The next connection point is the handlebar.
07:11Now with a new angle.
07:13Wider, more open.
07:15This results in a more front wheel orientated position, which gives you better control and more confidence on the front
07:22wheel.
07:23In addition, the handlebar can be adjusted in two positions by rotating the riser.
07:28Up front, we reworked the triple clamp.
07:31The forged aluminum design is tuned for stiffness and matched to the fork characteristics.
07:37That further improves front end feedback.
07:40To complete the rider triangle, we didn't leave the foot pegs untouched either.
07:45The rider foot pegs are repositioned for sportier stance.
07:49Meanwhile, the passenger foot pegs are repositioned for better comfort.
07:54And together, this defines the new rider triangle.
07:58The subframe is redesigned to optimize airflow to the airbox and to reduce weight.
08:04Despite the more grown appearance of the bike, we reduced the weight by two kilograms.
08:09Means we have 185 kilograms ready to ride.
08:13And we listen to rider feedback.
08:15The bike now comes with new Pirelli Diablo Rosso 4 tires.
08:20For better grip and more confidence on the road.
08:27The new KTM 792 comes in two trims.
08:31Electric orange like here.
08:33And pitch black.
08:34Electric black.
08:39Electricak.
