00:00So we got Detroit number one in the Eastern Conference, the only undefeated team left, 3-0.
00:04And the Philadelphia 76ers look really good.
00:06Now, I did think that the Philadelphia 76ers were going to be good with LeBron.
00:09Yeah.
00:10He's holding it together.
00:11They got a great team.
00:12They started off slow against Detroit.
00:13Look at the champions.
00:15Guys, guys, everybody here in L.A., look at the champions.
00:20Oh, and three.
00:20In 13th place.
00:22Ha, ha, ha.
00:23Look, you know.
00:24Elijah, if you're watching, no te duro mucho gusto, my friend.
00:27No, here's the thing about the Knicks.
00:30I enjoyed their win last year, but I felt that they had to play their best every game
00:34because they're a smaller team, they're an older team.
00:37So I don't know that they can sustain that kind of energy two years in a row.
00:40I don't think nobody has them as a repeat winner.
00:43No analyst that I've read has them as winning.
00:46Again, Philadelphia and the King LeBron playing a really good level, 3-1.
00:51Detroit surprisingly in first place.
00:54And let's go to the Western Conference where the Rockets and the Lakers
00:59are beating the odds, my friends.
01:03Yeah, that's crazy.
01:03Even on top of Oklahoma, Memphis, Minnesota, they're all perfect record.
01:07It would be a travesty if James Harden ever got a ring.
01:11Not that I hate James Harden.
01:12It's just, I, I, I, what, somebody that just used to me.
01:15How do you feel about beardless James Harden?
01:18You know, it's weird.
01:19I don't, I'm not getting used to this new look.
01:21Yeah.
01:22I don't know where to find him on the court.
01:24But what, so what's interesting is the Lakers and the Thunder are in second and third place.
01:28Now the Thunder lost.
01:30Is it the Thunder that lost Jalen Williams, Miguel?
01:32Yep.
01:33Yeah.
01:33He tore his ankle off.
01:34Can we talk about that horrible injury?
01:38I can't even look at it.
01:39Like, I don't even, we decided not to play the clip here because there's no need for that
01:43level of gore.
01:44But it was, you could see how affected the whole team was because this is a player that
01:48is a really good player, but also that has been struggling with injuries all of last
01:53season.
01:54A lot of hamstring issues.
01:55There's a lot of extended, um, bouts on the yard, but I'm wondering if, okay, maybe it's
02:02just me, but does it seem that the athletes are getting injured more often these days?
02:06Without a doubt.
02:06I think that the, the, the, the level of competition is higher, but I think that there's this as
02:12a, as a sports parent myself, I can tell you that I've seen the ship.
02:17I started working out as a swimmer when I was seven years old, but swimming is a type
02:22of sport that is very gentle on your joints.
02:25Right.
02:25There's no impact.
02:26Right.
02:27When you see the kids as young as three, four, five years old, they're getting multiple hours
02:32of week of practice.
02:34By the time that they get to 20, 25, 30, they were, they weren't there is very big.
02:41So these athletes, they already come with the longest load in history.
02:47Modern athletes have been doing more exercise and working out for longer than at any
02:52previous time in history.
02:53So it's not surprising to me now there's a lot of data.
02:57There's a lot of science behind injury prevention, but also the business of his
03:01sports is so relentless that the pressure that these players feel to come back as
03:05quick as possible from an injury them to, to be in the fold.
03:09Sometimes it rush things and creates worse.
03:13But this one, to be honest, it was just a freak accident.
03:15He went up almost at the end of the game, terrible, reckless foul on him.
03:20And then he just landed awkwardly.
03:21Yeah.
03:22So I tore my Achilles playing basketball when I was 29.
03:25I remember landing.
03:27I wasn't quite sure what happened.
03:28I thought somebody hit me in the back of the ankle and the guy that was nearest to me,
03:32which was about 10 feet away, says, no, I heard that you tore your Achilles.
03:34I walked myself to my car with my foot flopping.
03:38Yeah.
03:38A year later, I was back in the basketball court.
03:40You know, it's, it comes to, you know, injuries come with the territory.
