00:00And Abdul had every opportunity to love the place where he grew up, and he had every opportunity to love
00:08the place and feel grateful for it.
00:11He had every opportunity to feel gratitude for a country that gave him a happy upbringing, that gave him high
00:18-quality schools with good teachers, that made him captain of his high school sports team.
00:24But instead of feeling gratitude, or instead of feeling love, he chose, he made a choice to embrace the politics
00:34of grievance, one that is hell-bent on our national self-suicide.
00:41You listen to the man talk, and it's clear, Abdul doesn't love this community, Democrat or Republican.
00:48He doesn't love the people who live here.
00:50He hates the history of the United States of America.
00:54He calls our nation irredeemably racist.
00:58He calls the United States of America genocidal.
01:02And he hates the people who built it.
01:04People like my grandfather, who was for 40 years a union welder at the Middletown Works of Armco Steel in
01:12Ohio.
01:13Abdul says that men like this, men like you, men like your father and grandfather and your son, were bigots.
01:23He said, my papa, one of the greatest men that I have ever known, the man who raised me when
01:30my own mom and dad struggled, was incapable.
01:33And he said this, go and look it up, that my papa was incapable of loving my darling wife and
01:40our amazing second lady for the simple fact that he was white and she is not.
01:46Abdul said this despite being raised in part by his own white step-grandfathers.
01:53And I can only imagine, if he says that in public, what he says about you when the cameras aren't
01:59on.
02:02So deep is Syed's contempt for this nation that he lies about the most fundamental parts of who he is.
02:10He's introduced himself, and I quote, as an immigrant from North Africa.
02:16Well, ladies and gentlemen, I think that while we love anybody who wants to make a better life in this
02:22country,
02:23you ought to be damn proud of coming from the state of Michigan, and you ought to sing it from
02:27the rooftops.
02:38But you can't make this up.
02:40He invented a totally fictitious background for himself, not as a Michigander born an hour north of where we stand
02:48today,
02:49but as a foreigner who came here from 6,000 miles away.
02:53What does it say about your love of your community when you literally lie?
02:58You are so ashamed of this place that you lie about where you came from.
03:04Now, if you look at his history, he's told similar lies across his career.
03:09Here, for over a decade, he has falsely claimed himself as a dual citizen of Egypt, just to sound less
03:17American.
03:18My friends, ask yourself this.
03:21Why?
03:23Why would he lie?
03:24What is it that animates Abdul El-Sayed and drives him to seek public office?
03:31It is not the well-being of his fellow Americans.
03:35It's not the hopes or aspirations of the amazing auto workers of Detroit or the students of Ann Arbor or
03:42families in Flint.
03:43No.
03:44What excites him is this prospect of wielding the power of a country he hates.
03:51He wants to litigate ancient grievances with your tax dollars, and he wants to use the grievances of faraway lands
03:59to punish you.
04:01Well, I say on November the 3rd, send a message to Abdul El-Sayed, punish him, don't send him to
04:06Washington, D.C.
04:12You know, I'll be honest with you.
04:15I feel bad for Abdul El-Sayed because I don't understand, I don't understand how this man could have so
04:25much hatred in his heart for the people and the places that gave him so much opportunity.
04:32I don't know why he resents the things that he does.
04:35Perhaps it's because he sees them as too white or too proud or too American.
04:39But what I do know is this, that Michigan deserves better.
04:53You deserve better than a little weasel who should shut his mouth and show a little gratitude to the country
04:59that gave him everything.
05:06You deserve a senator who is grateful to this country.
05:13You deserve a senator who spent his life serving it in uniform and out.
05:23You deserve a senator who looks at this state and sees something to protect and to build upon, not something
05:30to apologize for.
05:31Ladies and gentlemen, you deserve Senator Mike Rogers.
05:53So let me ask you a question, my friends from Michigan.
05:57Do you promise me that you will never be ashamed of where we came from?
06:07Do you promise to get out there and vote for Mike Rogers on November the 3rd?
06:15Do you promise to bring 10 friends with you to the polls?
06:21And finally, do we promise to make Mike Rogers the next United States senator?
06:30Then, ladies and gentlemen, let's go do it.
06:33And let's remind the entire country that Michigan belongs to those who love the United States of America, not those
06:40who hate it.
06:41God bless Michigan and God bless our great country.
06:45That is a group of people that let us know.
