The whitest entry in the series, and the hardest to judge by eye.
Two locations, both of which remove the visual information you'd normally use to estimate distance.
The first is an underhang: a slab structure of district scale, filmed from beneath, with support columns spaced widely enough that the arrangement doesn't read as sufficient. There is no visible joint where slab meets column, which is either a construction detail or a rendering one — either way it removes the cue.
The second is a snowfield, where an enormous structure rests at an angle no building should rest at, and a vessel with masts sits at the edge of frame at an unreadable distance. One figure stands mid-field: the only dark object for kilometres, and the only reliable scale reference in either location.
Because the concrete and the sky occupy the same tonal range in both shots, there is no horizon to measure against. The result is a specific kind of discomfort that has nothing to do with horror and everything to do with arithmetic your eye keeps trying to do and failing.
For viewers drawn to brutalism, megastructures, minimalism, liminal spaces and quiet dystopian worldbuilding.
