00:00I was hearing things from the PGA Tour about how they were going to structure this with Liv, and it
00:06sounded so bad.
00:07It was horrendous.
00:10Just think about this.
00:10Can you give us like one?
00:12Yes, absolutely.
00:13Give us a couple.
00:14This is what we want.
00:14This is what we want right now.
00:18So what's the dude's name from Saudi?
00:21What was the guy's name?
00:22Yasser, I'll remind.
00:22Yasser.
00:23So Yasser was going to put up all the cash for like a Liv PGA Tour sanctioned event.
00:29And they were going to have X amount of these events throughout the calendar year.
00:34If there was a lot of things that happened over the last three years, but like this was one of
00:38the things that was kind of on the possibility or the radar of intertwining in the schedule of like, all
00:46right, how are we going to get these guys together?
00:49And they were going to have Scotty Shefford.
00:52You're going to have a Victor Hovland, a Colin Morikawa, Justin Thomas, and they were all going to be captains.
00:59And they were going to pick their team and they're going to have the live guys play on their team
01:03and the U.S. guys pick and play on their teams or whatever.
01:05And I was just sitting here listening to this and I'm like, so you're telling me that these guys are
01:11finishing up playing a stretch of Bay Hill Players Championship and wherever you want to say like three, three week
01:20in a row run where they're just gas.
01:22Now you're going to see Scotty Shefford show up to play in a exhibition team event and he's going to
01:29have to do it how many times a year?
01:31And he's like, X, you know, it could be four to six or something like that.
01:34It's like no chance that these guys are going to do this.
01:36It just it what was going to eventually happen was that if it was if that was something that was
01:43either mandatory or something that was too hard to pass up because the money was too good, it was going
01:49to affect and hurt so many tour events.
01:52And of guys of like, hey, this is a week that that I kind of like you just can't turn
01:58down the money to go and play.
01:59And next thing you know, it's like you have four to six events that you might play on the PGA
02:03Tour season of a let's say it's a Honda or a Valspar cognizant apologies or an Amex, wherever it is.
02:10Like these are the events that these guys like to mix into their schedules.
02:14And now that they were going to have to go and play at these events where it's just exhibition live
02:20first PGA, where I don't know how it's going to work.
02:23And I'm just saying, like, man, this is so bad.
02:26It's just like nobody was going to like it.
02:30And it would have been cool maybe the first week.
02:32But past that, people have been like, this is so dumb.
02:34What's going on with professional golf?
02:36These guys are just making so much money.
02:38And like we have lost the plot.
02:40And that's like where we were potentially heading with a possibility of working with live and PGA together.
02:47That it's it's wild.
02:48And it's also it's like, man, what a bullet we dodged.
02:52And we're looking at the way that this thing's being reformatted and what's happening in lieu of that in the
02:57offseason.
02:57Thank goodness.
02:59This is this is where we've ended up, because for me, I just I don't want to be too critical
03:05of some various like team stuff that's popped up, you know,
03:08over the last couple of years.
03:10And I appreciate the desire for innovation and tapping into new markets.
03:15And, you know, there's the cliche version of growing the game.
03:17But there is one that really is interested in trying to find new people and bring them to the game
03:21of golf in a way that they find interesting.
03:23And I applaud that.
03:24But we know which team events we care about.
03:27Like, that doesn't have to be said out loud.
03:29Like, we already have those things established.
