00:00I just kind of just pulled a list of guys that, you know, figuring out what they currently stand.
00:04So in case John Roms announced he's out, Sergio Garcia got his contract terminated with live.
00:10He stated plans to rejoin the DP World Tour.
00:14I'm not sure how that works, because if I remember correctly,
00:16he was one of the guys that resigned their membership when he left the DP World Tour.
00:19David Pooge confirmed out he's going to go pursue DP World Tour membership.
00:23Adrian Murak just won the Dunhill Lynx and will pursue DP World Tour membership via that win.
00:29I wonder how that works for him in that scenario,
00:33because would he have been playing on some type of sponsor's invite, I assume,
00:38and then wins and all of a sudden does he get this hat?
00:42Now, like he's in a position where he has full status and isn't in as much of a need to
00:46negotiate with the DP World Tour
00:48as maybe a Sergio, like you're talking about, or maybe a, well, a Tyrell Hatton has like a deal with
00:54them.
00:54But for the players that don't have structured deals, that's the confusing one,
00:59because Rahm was, at one point, like didn't even have a deal structured with the DP World Tour
01:05because he was playing hardball.
01:06That's right.
01:06And all of a sudden now he's like, wait, I need a DP World Tour jacket like that I can
01:11put on
01:11because he's going to be wearing it all.
01:13He's going to be needing to play it all next year.
01:15That was like the Eugenio Shakara path.
01:17You know, when he left Liv, had to kind of like work his way back through, you know, exemptions.
01:21He's good, by the way.
01:22I've been watching him a bunch this fall.
01:24Second on the DP World Tour, you know, Order of Marriage, he's going to get his tour card.
01:29He kind of reminds me of like a senior tour player.
01:34Like he reminds me like a Vijay Singh.
01:37Yeah.
01:37Like I don't know why.
01:39It's the broomstick, just the way that he kind of carries himself a little bit.
01:43But there's some like Vijay Singh to to Chicago.
01:47He kind of like, you know, like Rory's got the bounce.
01:51He's kind of got like a little bit of a plod.
01:53He kind of plods around and he's got a certain type.
01:56He's not like this.
01:56He's not like this fit, dude.
01:58Like he wears the same shirt every day.
02:00It seems like the same outfit.
02:01Like there's not there's nothing that's from just a brand standpoint.
02:07The guy just like shows up every day and just like good at golf.
02:10But he's not very impressive when you just like watch him just kind of carry himself.
02:15Well, and if you look at that list of guys, I'm scrolling down here to get the deep, the current
02:20DP World Tour list where there is a number of the I mean, Patrick reads, of course, at the top
02:27of that list of the guys that golly.
02:30He still hasn't made us.
02:31He still hasn't made a start yet on the PGA Tour.
02:33I was kind of thinking that we see him play this fall.
02:36I think I mean, I think he's first on that race to buy list, and I'm sure that's a lucrative
02:40thing to finish first on that.
02:41So probably want to see that out and then get his card that way.
02:44But he's like, he's played the PGA Tour.
02:46Like it's yeah, it's not going anywhere, going anywhere for him.
02:49Yeah.
02:50He and Eugenio Shikari are the top two on that list right now that are both in line to get
02:53their tour cards.
02:54But I think I think what's going to be really interesting, and this is something we're going to continue to
02:58delve into this fall as we get more of this promised information that Brian Rolaps talked about, is what happens
03:05when they look at these 10 DP World Tour cards they were handing out before.
03:11They were kind of I forget how the category worked, but they were like maybe in a category above the
03:16Corn Fairy Tour graduates or somewhere in that sort of world.
03:18And you're looking at less and less cards, you know, we've gone from one, whatever it was, 125 to 100,
03:25and it's going to be 90 in this new for the new championship series.
03:29So how many cards are you going to give if you want those field sizes to be like 120, 130
03:33on the championship tour, and you're going to still have 20 Corn Fairy Tour grads?
03:38How many of those cards can you give to DP World Tour guys?
03:40And that should be going into effect, you know, so the current 10 for this season for 2026, that will
03:47stay the same.
03:47But there is going to be a criteria change for the 2027 grads that enter in 2028, and there is
03:53a good chance we're going to see, golly, 5, 7, 10 live guys trying to play their way back on
03:59the tour through that route,
04:00because they will serve their, in effect, one-year ban from having the last live event that they played.
04:06So that, you know, this is effectively what Patrick Reed did this year.
04:09It's going to be a very interesting picture on the DP World Tour next year to see who ends up
04:15playing it and how many cards they're awarded that can earn their way back to the PGA Tour.
