00:00Thank you
00:30Dan kita akan berusaha dalam beberapa bulan ini untuk membawa rang undang-undang itu ke parlimen
00:35In terms of the policy paper, it has been tabled to the cabinet
00:44Cabinet has agreed on that principle
00:47So that policy decision has been made by the cabinet
00:50So that's why the PM has announced it as a government policy decision for next year
00:55So the task for the Ministry of Transport right now is to come up with the Draft Act
01:00The Draft Bill
01:02Of course together with AGC
01:04That will take some time because we have to take into consideration many, many technical aspects
01:07How do we go about it?
01:09Because previously, under the current system is that we have a dual system
01:13We have a criminal system, we have a civil system
01:15So for any victims of root accidents
01:20Of course, anyone who drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs
01:26They will be charged by the police, by AGC
01:30That will be under criminal
01:32But for the victims, if they want to get compensation from the drivers
01:37They have to file a civil case
01:39This is where the problem lies
01:41Because some victims do not have the means to file a civil case
01:44And they will take years to get the compensation from a civil case
01:49So what we are doing right now
01:51Is that we want to combine these two into one
01:54So that when the case is brought to the court
01:57The judge can also award in terms of the compensation to the victims
02:03So this is a universal principle
02:07And it's very much an Islamic principle as well
02:10It's Diyad, right?
02:12Diyad
02:13That means any victims, they will be compensated
02:15So I think this is quite a universal principle
02:19Which we want to adopt
02:20And it will be applied to everyone
02:24I mean, to answer your question
02:26Perhaps we are targeting first parliamentary session next year
02:29To table
02:31Hopefully, because right now
02:32We are still in work in progress
02:34Thank you
