00:00Welcome back to the best Android apps for June 2026. You guys know the drill. Just like every
00:04month, I've got 15 awesome Android apps that you probably never heard of, but are definitely going
00:09to want to check out. And all I ask in return, if you end up downloading even one app from
00:12this
00:13video, just drop your quick thumbs up and leave a comment letting me know which one was your
00:17favorite. All right, first up, Vyxel Apps. This is a new third-party app store that makes it super
00:22easy to find free and open source apps from all over the web. I mean, we're talking F-Droid,
00:26GitLab, EasyAndroid, and a lot more. But the thing that really caught my eye is that it just helps
00:32you discover new stuff from GitHub too, which is huge because GitHub is not that great for browsing
00:38new apps. Everything is scattered all over the place on that website. And what makes Vyxel even
00:43more attractive too is that you can download everything inside that app without even needing
00:46to hop to other sites. It's even got smart APK detection too, so it automatically picks the right
00:52version for your phone, which is great because if you know, if you go to download apps from GitHub,
00:56that's not really an option. You have to already know what to choose. Oh, and if an app is in
01:01another language, it also lets you translate its description into English right then and there.
01:05There are a ton more features packed in here, and here's the crazy part too. This store just launched
01:11only about a month ago, and it's already got way more features than so many other repositories out
01:16there. Shout out to Skedits for recommending to see me on my HowToMan Reddit page. If you've got an app
01:20too that you think that I should check out, just definitely drop it there. So that way,
01:23a feature on the next episode, I can give you a shout out too. If you're an OG Samsung Galaxy
01:28user,
01:29you probably heard of Goodlock by now, and there's a module in there called One Hand Operation Plus.
01:33I love that app because it lets you assign all kinds of extra gestures to the sides of your screen.
01:39Well, I've always wanted something similar on other Android phones too, and I finally found it
01:43with One Hand Control. It basically turns the edges of your screen into customizable gesture zones.
01:48So instead of only swiping from the side to go back, I can now swipe up diagonally on the left
01:53edge to
01:54launch a touchpad that makes it easier to reach the top half of the screen. I can also swipe diagonally
01:59down to open the quick settings. On the right side, I have an upward swipe to launch my favorite apps
02:04as well, while a downward swipe will open up my media controls. And I can even triple tap my navigation
02:09bar,
02:09so that way I can just open a full app drawer of all my apps, so that way I can
02:14quickly switch around.
02:15And trust me, I've barely scratched the surface here. There are a ridiculous number of gestures,
02:20shortcuts, and actions that you can customize. It basically makes the normal swipe back gesture even
02:25more powerful. A huge thanks to SHAD1214 for the recommendation on my HowToMan Reddit page.
02:31And hey, that's just two out of the 15 apps that I got for you for this month of June
02:352026. I spent a ton of
02:36time digging around the internet trying to find the most underrated Android apps possible,
02:40and it's honestly getting harder because a lot of these aren't even on the Play Store. So if you're
02:45enjoying the series, a quick thumbs up and a comment just really helps out a lot. Last month we hit
02:4914,000
02:50likes, which is insane. Thank you guys so much. Maybe this month we can hit 15,000 likes. I think
02:56we
02:56can do it. And don't forget, as always, I've saved the craziest app in this entire video for the very
03:00end,
03:00so stick around. From there, I have BeatBridge. I've been loving this one for when I just want to play
03:05some
03:05music because basically whenever I turn on my Bluetooth speaker and it connects to my phone,
03:11Spotify automatically opens so I can pick a song right away. Yup, and it only works with that specific
03:16speaker too. Not every device that it connects to, like my earbuds or car. And inside the app,
03:21you can just pick which Bluetooth device you want to trigger it, or you can just choose all of them,
03:26and then you pick the app that you want opened up when it connects. Simple as that, and it's open
03:31source
03:31too, and it just saves you from needing to hunt down your favorite music app every single time you
03:36connect. Did you know that your phone might not actually be using 5G even when the 5G icon is
03:41showing in the status bar? Yup, there are actually two types of 5G. There's standalone 5G, or SA, which
03:48is true 5G. And then there's non-standalone 5G, or NSA, which still relies heavily on older 4G
03:55infrastructure behind the scenes. That's why your speeds can sometimes be surprisingly slower,
04:00even when your phone says it's connected to 5G. What's even crazier is that your phone can switch
04:05between these two different connections throughout the day without you even noticing or the icon in
04:10the status bar not even changing at all. That's where this app called Signal comes in. It just monitors
04:15your network connections in the background and tells you whether you're actually connected to a
04:19true 5G network or if you've fallen back to 4G. It can even send you notifications whenever your
04:24network changes too. I especially love that it keeps a history log so you can keep track of how
04:29stable your carrier's coverage really is. Shoutout to AgileChip1328 for the recommendation on my Reddit page.
04:36If you're a big FDroid user and currently use Droidify for a cleaner experience, you might also want to
04:42check out Floride. It's a newer FDroid client that brings a really nice material through design,
04:46and honestly, I kind of dig the look. Right on the home screen, it highlights popular apps of the
04:51month to help you discover new stuff, while also showing you the latest apps and recently updated ones
04:56too from FDroid. Of course, you also still get all the essentials like a nice description page for
05:01each app with an easy way to download them too, plus an update manager, search functionality,
05:07and support for Shizuku to install apps without any approvals needed. It's definitely a great alternative.
05:13You know, it's kind of crazy that most phones still don't support a proper 3D depth lock screen where
05:18the clock just sits behind the wallpaper. They just look super nice too. Luckily with Depth X, I was able
05:24to bring something similar to pretty much any Android device. Now, keep in mind that you can't
05:28use your own photos, but the apps do come with a huge collection of wallpapers that do use that
05:333D depth effect to make objects just look like they're popping out on your screen and then have
05:38the clock sitting right behind them too. And honestly, a lot of them look really good. You can
05:43customize just about everything too, including the clock style, the fonts, color, position, the effects,
05:50and a lot more. Plus there are over 200 wallpapers available to try out in this app. So you'll
05:55definitely find something that you'll like. The only thing that you need to do is just hide your
05:59phone's default lock screen clock. And the app actually includes guides for most Android manufacturers
06:04too, to show you exactly how to do that. Next up is SideDoc. And this app actually adds a floating
06:09sidebar to your phone that's actually loaded with useful tools, not just shortcuts to apps and contacts
06:15either. Like it's actually useful stuff. For instance, it includes an entire clipboard manager, so you can
06:20quickly access copy text. You can take crop screenshots too, which is super helpful when you just want
06:25to capture a specific part of the screen and not the whole thing. It's also got a built-in speech
06:30to text tool that just works better than Andrew's native voice feature. And my favorite tool is that
06:36it has these things called text snippets, which means I can save little shortcuts that type out longer
06:42phrases. For example, I made one where I just type out address and it lets me quickly drop in my
06:48full
06:48mailing address. And the same for my name as well. If I type in name, it'll put my full name.
06:53Super
06:53useful. Now pretty much all of these features are behind a paywall of $1.50, but honestly,
06:58I think it's worth it. Shout out to Fartoday8670 for the recommendation on my Reddit page.
07:03So the summer is almost here in California and I've been really wanting a better way to just cool down
07:08my
07:08place. And this new Drill Turbo Cool outdoor misting fan 765S, who's also sponsoring today's video,
07:15has easily been the best option. I mean, it literally shoots out this really cool ultra fine mist with a
07:21strong airflow that feels amazing on your skin and just instantly cools you down. And you don't even
07:26get wet too because the mist is super fine. 17 micrometers. The second it touches anything,
07:32it just evaporates. I've had it running next to my desk while I'm editing and none of my gear ever
07:36got wet.
07:36It even comes with a huge six liter tank. So you get up to seven hours of turbo cool air
07:42or even up
07:43to 24 hours or more on lower settings. Plus the airflow is seriously powerful too. I could just feel
07:49it across the room and still, even with it being so strong, it's surprisingly very quiet as well.
07:54Even while I'm sleeping or editing late at night, it kind of just fades in the background. Plus you can
07:59control everything from the Drio app, the included remote, the fan itself, or even with Amazon Echo or
08:06Google Assistant. Still though, if this fan is just too big, Drio also has a smaller version called
08:11the 51 6s. It's just perfect for placing on any desk and keeping your room nice and cool with that
08:16same ultra fine mist that instantly evaporates. So if you want a nice way to stay cool this summer,
08:21definitely check out these turbo cool misting fans from Drio. Links at the top of the description.
08:26Okay, this next one is called Ultra and I normally don't cover reminder apps because there are so many
08:31out there, but this one did catch my eye because it uses your location and your movement to just
08:37remind you about things at exactly the right time. For example, whenever I get to the gym,
08:42I sometimes forget to start tracking my workout on my smartwatch until I'm already halfway through my
08:47session. So I set up Ultra to just remind me the moment that I arrived to the gym. That way
08:52I can
08:52start it. It's really great. I also made another reminder that pops up whenever I get to Chipotle and
08:57it shows me my healthy custom order that I just found on the internet and that way I don't forget
09:03it on the spot. That's really nice too. And that's just scratching the surface. You can create reminder
09:08based apps on pretty much anything including when you're driving, when you're walking, or just
09:12standing still too. Maybe arriving somewhere, leaving somewhere, and a whole lot more. Best of all,
09:18everything just stays local on your device so none of your location data gets uploaded anywhere. It's great.
09:23Next, I have Waypoint and it's one of those simple apps that's surprisingly useful. Basically, it lets
09:28you save any location and then it gives you a giant arrow that points you right back to it later.
09:34For
09:34example, let's say you're out camping and then you decide to explore some nearby trails. Before you leave
09:39your campsite, you can just drop a pin. Then when it's time to head back, Waypoint can just point you
09:44directly to where your campsite is with an arrow. And it also has a live compass as well, which is
09:50handy.
09:50Other great use cases for this app is that maybe you can use it when you're trying to find your
09:54car
09:54in a massive parking lot. You can mark your favorite fishing spots or really any place that you want
10:00to return to later. And the best part is that it works completely offline too. So even if you're in
10:05the
10:05middle of nowhere with zero signal, it'll still point you in the right direction. Shout out to
10:10Afire Inside for the recommendation on my Reddit page. If you have a problem with doom scrolling,
10:14you need to download Scroll Trace. Unlike regular screen time apps, this one specifically tracks how many times
10:19you've actually scrolled past the video on Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. Not only that too,
10:25but it also gives you other interesting insights like the estimated physical distance that your thumb
10:30has traveled from scrolling so much. Like, yeah, that's crazy. Plus it shows you patterns that it
10:37notices on your behavior with scrolling and even gives you a score to let you know if you're in a
10:42healthy
10:43scrolling spot. I know it seems ridiculous, but honestly, some people can actually use this and find it to be
10:48helpful. Unfortunately though, it doesn't support TikTok yet. So hopefully that does come in a future
10:52update. Then I have this app called Zenith, which is a full blown digital wellbeing app and definitely
10:58the best looking one that I've ever come across. It just nails that material express the design
11:02perfectly and it can also help you use these addicting apps a lot less. Like my favorite feature
11:07inside of it is called mindful gateway. Basically, whenever you try to open certain apps, Zenith will
11:13actually show you a menu before letting you in and will ask you how long you're planning to use the
11:17app for. Once you choose, it'll add a small floating timer so you don't overstay your welcome.
11:23It sounds super simple, but honestly it's surprisingly effective at just stopping those moments
11:27whenever you try to open an app purely out of habit and waste your time. It also includes other stuff
11:32too, like it has a bedtime mode that can automatically enable do not disturb mode and help you stay off
11:37your
11:37phone at night. And it also has some beautiful material widgets that track your progress and app usage
11:43streaks right on your phone. It's definitely a great alternative to Google's digital wellbeing.
11:48Here's a simple one. It's called custom animator and it lets you quickly change the animation speed
11:53on your phone. Sure, you can do this within the developer options of your system settings, but
11:57those are only for a few preset options like 0.5x or 1x. This app lets you dial in to
12:04virtually any value
12:05you want. So if you feel like 0.5x is just too fast and then 1x is just too slow,
12:11you can specifically
12:12choose 0.75x and make your phone feel exactly how you want. It also lets you save different presets too,
12:19so you can quickly switch between animation profiles whenever you'd like. And on top of that,
12:24it includes a built-in DPI changer which lets you fit more content on your screen or make everything
12:29larger depending on your preference. It's definitely a niche customization app, but if you're obsessed with
12:34tweaking every little thing about your phone, this can be right up your alley. Next is nFile Manager,
12:40and this might be one of the nicest looking file managers that I've seen on any Android. It's built
12:44by a developer who got tired of file managers being filled with ads, subscriptions, and outdated designs,
12:50so of course he did the complete opposite and just made one that has a moderate interface
12:55and a BS-free UI. It even comes packed with some useful features like you can browse zip files without
13:01extracting them. You can open PDFs and office documents directly inside the app, and you can
13:06even install xapk files which not a lot of file managers can do on their own nowadays. Definitely
13:12worth checking out if you're looking for a cleaner way to just manage your files. Next up, if you've got
13:17a printer that can scan documents, you're going to love ScanBridge. It lets you connect to certain
13:21printers effortlessly, no drivers needed. You put the paper that you want to scan in your printer,
13:25then you select your printer in the app, it should show up automatically, and then you can tap on the
13:31gear icon to change the scan resolution, and then just tap on the scan button to start scanning. After
13:37a few seconds you'll get a scan which you can save as a PDF or a picture, it's that easy.
13:43And for those
13:43curious too, it uses an ESCL protocol which is why it can discover printers without needing their drivers.
13:50You can even scan multiple documents and save them as a single PDF too, and for that cherry on top,
13:55it's free and open source. And now for the most unexpected but really cool app, Glow Bar. You
14:02know how Google is planning to release new laptops called Google Books that come with a Glow Bar on
14:06the front? Well, you can now get that same animated color bar right below your status bar on your phone.
14:12Yeah, that's right. It's pretty great. It animates beautifully. Why would you want this though? I mean,
14:16to be honest, why not? It's just cool and satisfying and it's free to use. Plus, you can customize it
14:22if you
14:22want if you pay a dollar to unlock those features. I think it's nice. Anyway, if you want to keep
14:27watching my videos, you should definitely check out my top tech series. Just like how I look for
14:30underrated apps on Android, I also look for underrated useful tech that will make your life
14:35easier and more productive. I appreciate you for watching all the way through and I'll catch you guys
14:39in the next one. Kapow!
