00:00Three years after Israel launched its war on Gaza following the October 7 attacks,
00:06the enclave remains devastated by death, destruction and a deepening humanitarian crisis.
00:12A ceasefire that took effect in October 2025 brought an end to major fighting
00:17and raised hopes that the war could finally end.
00:20But those hopes have proved fragile, with Israeli strikes continuing and much of Gaza still in ruins.
00:30The October 7 attack killed around 1,200 people in Israel and saw 251 hostages taken to Gaza.
00:38But the Israeli response has been massive in scale,
00:42with more than 74,000 Palestinians killed and another 100,000 more injured over the past three years.
00:49Around 90% of Gaza's population is now displaced, with millions living in precarious conditions.
00:56About two-thirds of the population faces crisis levels of food insecurity,
01:01while malnutrition among young children continues to rise.
01:05Fewer than half of Gaza's health facilities are even partially functioning,
01:09while water, electricity and communication networks remain severely damaged.
01:14Humanitarian operations also remain constrained by restrictions on aid entering the enclave.
01:20A year after the ceasefire began, the U.S.-backed peace roadmap remains stalled,
01:25with Hamas's disarmament and Israeli troop withdrawals still unresolved.
