Hamas releases six last hostages in first phase of ceasefire agreement  The six included three Israeli men seized from the Nova music festival and another taken while visiting family in southern Israel when Hamas-led militants stormed across the border in the 7 October, 2023, attack that triggered Israel’s 16-month bombing campaign in Gaza. 00:00Five of the six Israeli hostages to be released by Hamas this weekend have now been freed.

00:09The sixth is expected to be released later on Saturday, in exchange for more than 600

00:14Palestinian prisoners.

00:17Hamas also released the bodies of four other hostages on Thursday.

00:22This is expected to be the last swap between Israel and Hamas during the first phase of

00:27the ceasefire.

00:32Most of the hostages released since the 19th of January have been Israeli men aged between

00:3620 and 40.

00:40Three of them were taken during Hamas' 7th of October attack on Israel in 2023, in which

00:46250 people were captured by the group.

00:52Talks are now underway to discuss the conditions of the second phase of the ceasefire, in which

00:57Hamas wants Israel to completely withdraw from Gaza.
