00:00Jacob, if your ownership of the Broncos, I mean, you think you come downstairs and start pushing the button there
00:06that, hey, Sean, we want you to take back the play calling duties here, because how long before that?
00:12I know Webb was a guy that was hotly pursued by people for a OC job or potentially a head
00:19coaching job.
00:19But I mean, when does it get to a point? Because the Bronco offense wobbled throughout the start of the
00:24season here.
00:26Yeah, I think we're getting very close to that, Dan. I could see it happening very soon.
00:31I think Sean Payton, maybe he'll be reluctant to do it because he really wanted to back Davis Webb.
00:36He really wanted to keep him. And, you know, taking this kind of measure might open that door for another
00:42team to hire him as a play calling offensive coordinator during the offseason.
00:45But listen, the Broncos coming into this year, we're going to be Super Bowl contenders, Super Bowl, you know, not
00:51favorites, but a team that a lot of people expected to take the next step.
00:55That offense, things haven't been working. The natural thing to do is make some sort of change.
00:59The path of least resistance is to change up the play caller. And Sean Payton is a fantastic play caller.
01:04We know that we have 20 plus years of data on that. And look, Davis Webb could eventually be a
01:10great play caller as well.
01:11But things are just not going well in that regard right now. So I'm not calling for it to happen
01:16this week.
01:16But I think soon enough, Sean Payton may have to look at what he has in front of him and
01:21say, I got to take back play calling to protect my team and to protect Davis Webb a little bit,
01:26too, because you don't want his confidence to be completely destroyed by the time you potentially take that away from
01:31him either.
