00:00So while they're celebrating the fact that Joe Shane is the GM for a couple more years,
00:05they got bad news that Malik Neighbors, their star wide receiver, is not coming back for week one.
00:14Well, I mean, that was expected.
00:16Or maybe ever, by the way.
00:18Yeah, you talked about this earlier in the week, though.
00:20You mentioned, I think it was a Tuesday.
00:22Usually when you're getting another surgery, they'll try to say, oh, this is routine, blah, blah, blah.
00:26It's never routine to go in more than once unless they announce ahead of time we're going to have to
00:31go in more than once because it's complicated.
00:34It's a shame because the guy looked like he could have been, you know, on to a star level for
00:38a long time.
00:39But I don't think the Giants can bank on him ever returning.
00:42And now it makes the offseason and the draft a little bit more curious because they didn't do everything they
00:49could to take care of that quarterback,
00:50knowing that this guy's career is in peril, unfortunately.
00:54Yeah, it sucks.
00:55So I guess he had a meniscus problem.
00:57He obviously tore the ACL as well.
01:00He even said at Jump Street it was a much different injury than when people first thought.
01:05It was a much more detailed surgery, apparently, than when they first thought, you know, before they went in arthroscopically.
01:10And now we're finding out, of course, that he's not going to be ready week one.
01:15The question now becomes, how bad was that knee damage?
01:19How slow is this recovery?
01:21And is Malik Naver ever going to get his speed back?
01:24Because, remember, his entire game is built on speed.
01:28And if you take the knee away from a speed guy, he's no longer a speed guy.
01:33That's a major blow to the New York Giants.
01:36So for all the talk this offseason about how the Giants are a 10-win team and an 11-win
01:41team,
01:42I know you Giants lunatics are trying to convince me they're a playoff team.
01:46And Jackson Dart actually completed a pass in a seven-on-seven drill.
01:50And you guys went, oh, go, go, go, go, go, go.
01:53Because you saw him actually throw a spiral.
01:56You're running back's an idiot.
01:58Your quarterback spent more time getting dressed with his girlfriend and playing football.
02:03And now your best wide receiver is not going to be ready for the start of the season.
02:07Oh, and by the way, another defensive lineman went down.
02:11What's his name?
02:12Roy Robertson?
02:13He went down to a torn Achilles.
02:16Achilles.
02:16So he's out for the year.
02:18So the Giants have no defensive lineman worth talking about.
02:22They have no depth and wide receiver worth talking about.
02:25Their second-best running back can't add two plus three and get it right.
02:30And all of a sudden, I'm saying to myself, huh, huh, huh.
02:35Maybe the Giants are not going to be a 10-win team this year.
02:39Maybe the Eagles have nothing to worry about.
02:43Oh, we don't have anything to worry about.
02:45But I want to ask you a New York question.
02:47Go.
02:47Right now.
02:48Right now on May 22nd.
02:50The answer is the Jets.
02:51Great question.
02:53The Giants or the Jets?
02:55You're suggesting right now.
02:56See, Sam, I know you.
02:58I know the question.
02:59Before you ask it.
03:00You do know the question.
03:01Who's going to have a better season, right?
03:04Yeah.
03:04Well, I want to know right now, what do you think?
03:06Obviously, we still have training camp.
03:07There's still going to be other moves.
03:08But right now, who do you think is better, the Giants or the Jets?
03:12Because the perception is Giants borderline playoffs, Jets bad.
03:17But it doesn't feel like you'd think that.
03:18So here's how I'll answer that question.
03:19It's a great question.
03:21I know what Geno Smith is.
03:23Geno Smith is a bad quarterback who had a good year and a half,
03:27if I'm being totally honest with you,
03:29and was well-deserving of comeback player of the year when he won it.
03:32I don't think he was deserving of the contract he got, but good for him.
03:35I don't begrudge a guy, even if I don't like the guy, that he got paid.
03:38Good for him, right?
03:39All good.
03:39I don't hold any resentment about him getting paid.
03:43Here's the reality, though.
03:45I do not know what Jackson Dart is.
03:48He could be better than Geno Smith.
03:50He might be worse than Geno Smith.
03:53So from that standpoint, and that standpoint alone, I'll say it.
03:59I think there is a chance that the New York Jets have a better season
04:05than the New York Giants.
04:08I think that's on the table.
