00:17gentlemen what's going on again thank you guys for having me yeah we're excited to have you
00:21how was your show today i know you just wrapped it up what are you all talking about and thinking
00:25about with this game man we're talking about a lot obviously we know the 49ers are a damn good
00:32football team brock purdy is playing at an elite level and a lot of people should start to respect
00:36them a lot more than what they do you got to take out that mystery relevant from that man the
00:41man
00:41has done it all has found ways to keep his teams in games has been to a super bowl and
00:47all he does
00:47is make plays the broncos in broncos country over here knows how good brock purdy is how good he
00:53takes care of the football he has no interceptions right now and the man doesn't take a sack and a
00:58sack is the quarterback stat as as i think people are starting to understand that quarterbacks have
01:02to get the ball out of their hands as fast as possible uh make the right reads because if they
01:07hold on to the ball too long and take that sack i mean you're not giving your a chance your
01:11team a
01:12chance to win score points move the chains that way so uh here in broncos country everybody's
01:18respecting what the 49ers have to offer kyle shahan and what he brings to the table christian
01:24mccaffrey and although he's getting older still dynamic still elite it's gonna be a fun game but
01:30there's a lot of respect over here from broncos country going going against uh 49ers what's been
01:34the situation with denver we can't really figure it out out here it looks like the defense should be
01:40better than what they've shown what's been going on with denver especially defending against the run
01:45yeah i mean it's been a struggle and and i'll say this there's two guys that's missing one is
01:51johnson cooper and dealing with his situation he's on the exempt list commissioner exempt list so we
01:56don't know when we're getting him back and he brings a different dynamic to the game on that edge
02:01where he's coming off the edge to help balance out nick bonito and so he doesn't nick bonito right now
02:06doesn't have his partner in crime so it's hard to bottle up some of these teams like the 49ers we're
02:11going to play that love to do the outside zone running and get outside and stretch you out another
02:16thing is we don't have that presence like we did last year where we had zach allen plus john franklin
02:23myers okay john franklin myers went to the tennessee titans and got a lucrative deal with tennessee and
02:29leaving a void right there with zach allen so what i what i'm trying to get at is we don't
02:34have the depth
02:34like we did last year and then it's about the players just being stout alex singleton just as
02:40starting at the linebackers they have to do a better job of clogging holes and tackling and
02:46if they can do that then we can get the running game under control for somebody like the 49ers to
02:51be third and long and now you dictate the game so what i'm getting at is denver has to do
02:57a better job
02:58of stopping the run on first and second downs and forcing these third and longs to help them help

03:14good in the second half but you know not in the first man we are still trying to figure that

03:20right now i mean champagne doesn't even know the answer to why bo nix played so great in the second
03:26half and it's like he doesn't show up in the first half the only thing i can think of is

03:31things right davis webb and i'm not gonna even put throw him under the bus because sean payton has been
03:36a coach that has has been very slow starting at the beginning of years especially with his offices
03:42um you gotta get that first first down you gotta you gotta get the first first down you have to
03:49be
03:50good on your first 15 of the of the day and that comes down to play calling with davis webb
03:55the new
03:55play caller and it also comes down to bo nix relaxing taking what's given to him i think there's a
04:01lot of
04:02times where he's trying to press the issue trying to force something that's not there and i think
04:06that's what brock party does a great job of he just gets the ball out of his hands and fast
04:11get the ball
04:11out of his hands and put it in his playmakers hands players make plays players win games for you
04:16so for bo nix take the easy throws evan ingram are tied in get him in box across the middle
04:21of that field
04:22okay dump down to rj harvey run the football uh bo nix he hasn't utilized utilized his legs enough in
04:30the
04:30first three games of the year and i don't know if that's just like him trying to prove a point
04:34and prove to the world that he can play within within the pocket or if he just doesn't trust that
04:40ankle that he had surgery on twice so i think for for bo nix it's about slowing the game down

04:45getting everybody involved taking the easy throws utilizing those beautiful legs that god giving you
04:51or gave you and you go from there you look at jk dobbins and i see a guy who has
04:57not really
04:57gotten going he hasn't been that consistent does that kind of go to what you're saying about the
05:02play calling and the slow starts in the first quarter and beyond most most definitely like it
05:07starts with the run game and now you know me i'm a running back so of course i want 100
05:11carries a
05:12game but you must control the game by the run and if you could put yourself in third and manageable
05:18and and keep a defense guest and keep them on their their their uh heels like that's what you want
05:23to see and in order to do that you got to be able to run the ball get downhill jk
05:28doesn't look healthy
05:28to me right now i think that they had a different approach with jk because he hasn't been able to
05:33stay healthy for a full season yet so their approach during camp was we're gonna we're gonna put bubble
05:38bubble wrap on this man and get him ready for the season i don't think that's the right thing to
05:43do
05:43for a running back i think that the right thing to do and i believe in is you got to
05:47callous your body
05:48it's a long 17 game season plus the playoffs so you have to get into some hyper rhythm well jk
05:54missed
05:55almost half the games last year because he ended up with that foot injury week 10 and so he didn't
06:00get to play the rest of that season and then going into the into the camp they didn't let this
06:05man
06:05really do a lot of running and then of course he didn't do any preseason games so i think that
06:10he's
06:10having this slow start because he needs to get kind of and get on top of getting back into shape
06:17and then going from there but jk has not looked good so far and they got to get that man

06:22on top of rj harvey coming out of that backfield type of like uh christian mccaffrey type of role
06:28of throwing a lot of balls to him philip lindsey with us uh former bronco running back 104 the three
06:35104 three the fan in denver philip what about this i think a lot of people are circling this
06:41as the matchup this weekend and that is the broncos pass rush against the niners offensive line
06:46brock purdy has not been sacked this year not once and that is a big part of what denver does
06:52to make their defense go so how do you handicap that matchup it comes down to so you have nick
07:01benito who hasn't been the same without jonathan cooper nick benito has to get pressure pressure
07:07must get pressure on brock purdy force brock purdy to throw illibyes pass right get him out of sync
07:12get him in uncomfortable situations in order to do that i think vance joseph the defensive
07:18coordinator for the denver broncos i think he's gonna have to disguise his zones and man back there
07:23so brock purdy can't eat you apart and beat you that way and i think you're gonna have to bring
07:28pressure from your safety to nickel so you got jayquan mcmillan's or nickel that can come off the
07:34edge the fonga as you guys know uh can come off the edge and make big a big time difference
07:40in the
07:40defense like he did on sunday night football versus the rams so i think it's gonna be on our
07:45defensive coordinator to scheme up these blitzes to get after brock purdy and make brock purdy feel
07:51unsettled and force some type of turnover you guys gotta you guys gotta get get uh ready for a lot
07:57more zone with the broncos this week because they want to keep everything in front of them
08:01and being pressure off of the off those zone looks is that what pet sertain does at his finest
08:07is he a guy who could play a lot of man is he a zone player because i i watched
08:12denver and it
08:12doesn't seem like he shows up that much because teams don't want to throw to his side yeah he plays
08:17a lot of man so vj historically loves man coverage but he wants more turnovers in order to get turnovers
08:25you need to bring pressure and get pressure from your hands and your pass rushers and zach allen down
08:29that middle and then you know you you want people to keep everything in front of them as a safety
08:35and a
08:35cornerback that's how you generate more pressures more opportunities when you're playing man your
08:40backs always turn to the quarterback and you're chasing these athletic fast receivers around
08:45and trying to stay up with them so that's the tech can do a lot but he thrives in man
08:50and they love
08:51going man because he can shut down that one side of the field and now they can double team and
08:55help
08:56riley out on the other side philip you were a running back let's say you got one game to win
09:01who do you
09:01want calling your plays sean payton or kyle shanahan oh why are you putting me on the spot
09:08yeah why are you putting me on the spot yeah i love i love both of them and i know
09:12both of them will
09:13um when i was playing i really wanted to be a part of sean payton's uh offense because he was
09:20so
09:20versatile with with the running backs you know three four running backs were going to play uh alvin
09:26kamara was catching out of that backfield but here's the thing kyle shanahan he's just on another
09:32level right now there's a reason why sean payton gave up play calling duties he doesn't have that
09:36fastball like he used to and that's why davis whoever's our new play caller kyle shanahan's going
09:41to run that football where someone like sean payton if you ever seen on his on his play calling sheet
09:46he has to remind himself to run the ball as a running back i don't want to have to be
09:51reminded to run
09:51the ball i want to just run the ball kyle shanahan's going to do that and he's going to be
09:56creative with his run scheme on top of that he's gonna he's gonna find ways to to generate
10:02uh the explosiveness from everybody that's out there and bring out the superpower and all the
10:09guys that's on that field all living guys christian mccaffrey has had a lot of success in the nfl
10:14but he's thrived with kyle shanahan because kyle shanahan knows how to use him give me kyle shanahan
10:19if i had to choose oh all right we'll be sending that to the denver broncos uh courtesy of mr

10:37residents and denver bronco fans thinking of this team it seems like two and one they should be
10:43pleased but at the same time they haven't been great to the eye test what are broncos fans thinking
10:48right now right now we're just happy that we're winning these games but we also understand we're
10:53we're a smart fan base and we also understand that that's not going to cut it if we can't get
10:59the
10:59points we need in the first half and and at some point the rams you know they dropped the ball
11:05if
11:05the rams would have continued to run the football they would have beat the denver broncos on sunday
11:09night but they decided to go away from that just like the bills did in the playoffs against the
11:14broncos so maybe it's the script and that's just how it's supposed to be but if but but but if
11:19the
11:20broncos do not get the run game going and they don't build an identity see that's the issue right
11:26now broncos country's having a problem with we don't know who the broncos offense is we don't know
11:31what they want to be i think i know what they want to be they want to be a pass
11:35first team but that's
11:36not going to cut it in today's nfl everybody in the nfl they're going back to 13 personnel three titans
11:42on the field playing smash mount football and then setting up that play action so for denver they
11:48got to figure out who they want to be and then they got to go and stick with it they
11:52got to start
11:52trying to find the rhythm on the ground running the football and then build off that play action
11:57with evan ingram our tight end and then of course we got two really good receivers my former teammates
12:03courtland sudden and of course jaylen waddle hey um i'd love to know what you truly believe now i know
12:10where you live and what's your work and where are you talking and all that stuff yeah you believe
12:17that niners or broncos are winning this game i believe the denver broncos are going to win this
12:23game i i believe that i i think that the the broncos they they they're an interesting team
12:31but one thing about the broncos is they're resilient on the road they got a bunch of veterans just like
12:36the 49ers i think for brock purdy you can only be perfect for so long i think that vance joseph
12:42brings a lot of different disguises that are going to throw him off uh hafonga brandon jones these guys
12:48you don't know who's coming off the edge i think that we're going to see from the denver broncos and
12:52i'm not trying to be a homer because i had the broncos losing against the rams and i was wrong
12:57but i think this is going to be the first time that the denver broncos put together a full
13:02game davis webb going into to week four at the new play caller he's starting to understand what
13:08needs to happen i think that they're going to try to establish the run and bo nix is going to
13:12open up
13:13with his legs a little bit more than he has this year waddle has been explosive but also you got
13:18cordless sudden and two guys by the name of pat bryant and troy franklin i think it's going to be
13:23a
13:23close game but denver finds a way because they're going to keep it tight in that first half and of
13:28course
13:29if you've ever watched the denver broncos they explode in the second i had this game going
13:33broncos 24 49 or 17 oh boy if you denver holds this team to 17 points that's going to be
13:42a real
