00:00At the moment we've got one million young people who are not in education, employment or training, that's the needs.
00:06And we've got young people who are coming out of school and going straight on to benefits.
00:10We're saying that is not okay, we're going to change that.
00:14So what we're going to introduce is if you're 18 to 24 and you haven't held down a job,
00:18you come forward to claim benefits, you're going to go on to our Get to Work programme from day one.
00:24And you need to participate in that, that's going to support you with getting into work
00:28and that's how you get your Get to Work allowance.
00:30If you don't participate, if you won't show up, then you won't get benefits.
00:33We're going to change this culture that has become normalised for young people to come out of education and on
00:39to welfare.
00:40At the same time, we're going to make sure there are jobs for young people to get into.
00:44We're going to be backing businesses, cutting the tax burden on businesses, cutting the red tape,
00:49so they can create jobs for young people to go into.
