00:00On this week's edition of First Things First, who else would I catch up with?
00:04But the winner of the Goodwood Stakes and all the connections.
00:13Forge Steel gets his ticket punched to the Breeders' Cup, winning the Goodwood win,
00:18and you're in here with the winning connections.
00:20And Edwin, well done indeed.
00:23It's a one-two for Safi Joseph, a guy who supported you so well.
00:27Tell us about your trip aboard Forge Steel and how game he was.
00:31Yeah, I talked to with Safi before the race.
00:33He called me. He didn't give me too much introduction.
00:35He said, Edwin, break running to see where you're at.
00:38And I'll break running to see if he let me go to the league or if he knows I keep
00:41him,
00:41I have the position on the side.
00:43And when I passed the 3-8, I passed to the league.
00:46And I was waiting for the horse from behind.
00:48I let him bring my heart, waiting for him.
00:51And when I'm asking, he give me a green light and he keep going.
00:54Mike Iverone, Mike Fresh in the Business.
00:56Mike Iverone, your first win at Santonichi, your first win ever in a horse race.
01:00Yeah, it's just insane.
01:02Like, the way he ran today, wow.
01:04We've got Jules, Mike Iverone's wife, on FaceTime right now.
01:08Yay!
01:09Say again?
01:10Congratulations to everybody.
01:11Oh, my God, so excited.
01:13He's bringing me here in Spain.
01:14Wow.
01:14All right, well, Jules is in Spain.
01:16How excited are you?
01:17And tell us about bringing Mike Iverone into this great sport that we love.
01:20Well, first thing I have to say, Safi, for a young guy, is building a Hall of Fame career.
01:23I mean, he's won two in this race.
01:25He sent me a video last night of this horse in his stall.
01:29He was rolling around.
01:29He was squealing.
01:30I took one look at it.
01:31I said, if this horse doesn't win, I don't know who is.
01:33And then congratulations, huge for Edwin.
01:35First grade one.
01:36I told him before the last race, this is going to be a first grade one.
01:39I was wrong that week.
01:41But I was right this time.
01:42And he rode the horse just amazing.
01:45Maika to be here, get a first win as a grade one.
01:48It's just, that's ridiculous.
01:51And look, two weeks in a row, I win grade ones.
01:53I mean, that's why I'm in the game.
01:54And just blessed.
01:56What's better than that?
01:57Onward to Breeders' Cup.
01:58And congratulations, Edwin, on your first grade one win right here at the Great Race Place.
02:07Many thanks.
02:07Always a great pleasure to talk to Mike Iverone.
