00:00The New York football Giants made a trade today.
00:03A fifth-round pick is going to the Minnesota Vikings
00:07for former first-round pick in 2024, J.J. McCarthy.
00:12And listen, this is logical.
00:16I want to give the Giants and Joe Shane and John Harbaugh a lot of credit.
00:20Last week, when the Giants got the awful news that Jackson Dart was out for the season,
00:24we made a list of four quarterbacks that made sense for the New York football Giants.
00:29And J.J. McCarthy was on the list.
00:31J.J. McCarthy in college was a quarterback who played for Jim Harbaugh.
00:37And that means that John Harbaugh knows everything about J.J. McCarthy.
00:42Now, J.J. McCarthy, as a pro, was injured his rookie season.
00:47Then he was terrible last year.
00:49He lost the quarterback battle with Kyler Murray,
00:52which never really was even a quarterback battle,
00:55and then was so bad during practice and training camp
00:59he went from the fake battle with Kyler Murray
01:02to being demoted to third string.
01:05To the extent when Kyler Murray was hurt,
01:08you saw Carson Wentz go in the ballgame week one,
01:11and Carson Wentz, not J.J. McCarthy,
01:14get the start for the Minnesota Vikings in game number two.
01:17So I think the Harbaugh connection matters here
01:22when it comes to acquiring J.J. McCarthy.
01:24Because John Harbaugh was at all those games
01:27that Jim Harbaugh coached for J.J. McCarthy at Michigan.
01:32Take a look, and I think it's important here
01:33to remember what John Harbaugh is thinking about.
01:36Look at the resume for J.J. McCarthy at Michigan.
01:41And I made the case there were two guys
01:45that the Giants should consider in the 2024 draft.
01:49And I had it ranked in this order.
01:52J.J. McCarthy and Malik Nabors.
01:55J.J. McCarthy, when healthy, coming out of the draft in 2024,
02:00I firmly believe would have been a phenomenal pick
02:03for Brian Dayball and the New York football Giants.
02:07Now, McCarthy goes to Minnesota,
02:10and he gets injured and rips up his knee
02:13and didn't play in the first year of his career,
02:17didn't even take a practice rep, and that mattered.
02:20And Sam Darnold came in, he was phenomenal,
02:24and J.J. McCarthy, as a Minnesota Viking, was a bust.
02:29And that's why he got traded today.
02:31The numbers are just absolutely deplorable.
02:37Absolutely dreadful.
02:38And when the Minnesota Vikings, with this trade
02:42and with where McCarthy was on the depth chart,
02:45tell you we would rather have Carson Wentz playing football
02:48for a team that is thinking about making the playoffs
02:51or making a run in the playoffs this year,
02:52the 3-0 Minnesota Vikings,
02:55and they tell America that we would rather have Carson Wentz
02:59than J.J. McCarthy, that speaks volumes.
03:02The numbers are atrocious.
03:04I'm going to give the Giants credit here
03:07because Jameis Winston is still their starting quarterback,
03:11and Jameis Winston was awful against Tennessee.
03:16The Giants won.
03:17Jameis Winston, I'm on record saying it,
03:20one of the better backup quarterbacks in the NFL.
03:23I think that Jameis Winston has been,
03:26let's be crystal clear here, terrible.
03:29The first two times he's played this year,
03:32in relief against the Rams, he was awful.
03:34And then Jameis Winston yesterday against the Tennessee Titans,
03:38terrible.
03:39Absolutely, positively atrocious.
03:42And the Giants very easily could have lost that game
03:45based upon how Jameis Winston was playing.
03:48J.J. McCarthy is going to play this year.
03:52J.J. McCarthy is under contract for next season.
03:56J.J. McCarthy is a Harbaugh family favorite.
04:00I am fascinated when they brought this up
04:04as a possibility to Matt Nagy and the coaching staff,
04:08what they had to say.
04:10I also think there is an interesting irony,
04:13and I'm not predicting this,
04:15but in terms of the old change of scenery,
04:19could J.J. McCarthy turn out to be Sam Darnold?
04:24Sam Darnold, you knew he had talent coming out of USC,
04:27and he got jetsed.
04:28Now, of course, Kevin O'Connell is the one who fixed Sam Darnold.
04:33Kevin O'Connell is the quarterback whisperer.
04:36Kevin O'Connell was invested in J.J. McCarthy,
04:39and he just threw him out.
04:41I think this makes a lot of sense.
04:43I thought the obvious answer for the Giants
04:46was Jimmy Garoppolo,
04:47because he was there.
04:50He was available.
04:51He didn't have to make a trade.
04:53He didn't have to give up a draft pick.
04:55This one has more upside,
04:57because J.J. McCarthy, without question, has talent.
05:02I think he's been completely rocked,
05:04completely spooked, physically, mentally.
05:07He has been a mess.
05:09The fact that he is going to be coached up by somebody named Harbaugh,
05:13this, to me, is amazing for him.
05:15I root for J.J. McCarthy.
05:17Make no mistake, as a Minnesota Viking,
05:20this past season in 2025,
05:22J.J. McCarthy was a disaster.
05:25He's the reason why?
05:26They have to fire their general manager.
05:28It was that bad.
05:30When Carson Wentz leapfrogs you on a depth chart,
05:34it tells you that we think you're no good at football.
05:38I think you're going to see McCarthy play.
05:40I think he's going to play at some point over the next few games.
05:43I think this is a great opportunity for him, for John Harbaugh,
05:47for the New York football Giants, for Matt Nagy and the coaching staff,
05:51to maximize his talent, his ability to win.
05:54And I love that we have that picture of him winning the Rose Bowl.
05:59I love that we have the picture of him on the screen right here in a Michigan uniform.
06:04Because this is the guy the Giants are trading for, in their mind.
06:10They're not naive to the struggles.
06:12They're not naive to what he's been through mentally.
06:15They're not naive to the injury and everything that happened when he missed his rookie season.
06:20This is a smart flyer.
06:22And when you give up a fifth-round pick,
06:25which is oftentimes fourth-round, fifth-round,
06:28where you draft your backup quarterback
06:30and you think there's a shot he's going to start,
06:32that means it's going to be a little bit of a look-see.
06:35And look, I don't think J.J. McCarthy
06:39is going to ultimately be better than Jackson Dart.
06:44But I am also on record saying,
06:46because of the accuracy here when it comes to Dart and his health,
06:50Jackson Dart is officially a hypothetical for next season.
06:55You just don't know.
06:57You don't know if he's going to be ready physically.
07:00Don't know if he is going to be ready to be an every-down starter for the rest of his
07:05career.
07:06So J.J. McCarthy's upside here should energize the Giant fan base.
07:12So I think there's a lot of logic.
07:15I'm not even going to credit Joe Shane.
07:17Clearly, this is a Harbaugh move.
07:20I think there's a lot of reasons why the Giants are making a smart decision here with J.J. McCarthy,
07:25who, again, I want to stress, was terrible as a Minnesota Viking.
07:30But that's not the guy in their mind the Harbaugh family's trading for today.
07:35I'm going to even include Jim in this.
07:37I'm going to include the dad in this.
07:39John Harbaugh is trading for the guy his brother was in love with at Michigan.
07:43I think there's a lot of logic attached to this move.
07:47Now, the Giants did win the aforementioned game against the Titans yesterday at MetLife.
07:5112-7 was not exactly a thing of beauty.
07:55But I love what Cam Scadamu had to say after the game because without question,
08:00it would have been a different result last season.
08:03Yeah, I mean, that was a great win.
08:05You know, a year ago, we lose that game, 100%.
08:08And this year, we were able to pull through.
08:10You know, Coach Denarga does a great job with those guys.
08:12Javon's been in his playbook.
08:14He knew where that ball was going and who it was going to at that time in the game.
08:17And he was able to make a read and pick the ball off.
08:19You know, that's a player that is very good in the film room and also very good on the field.
08:25And when you can put those two things together, he's going to make plays.
08:28You know, he had an interception and two forced fumbles last week.
08:31I think he was gifted this week with that one right there to finish the game.
08:33What I love about the Giants and their win, it's all about John Harbaugh.
08:40And Scadamu is 100% correct.
08:42That's a game the Giants lose last year.
08:45And it goes noted, by the way, they needed Brian Dayball to help screw that up at the end of
08:49that game
08:50in terms of what he did, what Cam Ward did, the interception at the end.
08:54And this, to me, was terrific and dynamite here from a Giants standpoint in terms of team
09:01and being resourceful and being tough because, obviously, Jackson Dart being done for the season
09:08is a killer.
09:09And now Brian Burns is out for the season.
09:11And by the way, we're allowed to have this conversation.
09:16I didn't like that Burns played.
09:18That was one of those where you saw that he was active on the heels of the injury he suffered
09:22at the end of the Rams game.
09:24You're like, that's interesting.
09:25And Burns is the ultimate tough guy.
09:28And the fact that he tore his ACL, I mean, that's, this is no good.
09:34This is a, it was very bizarre that he even played in the first place.
09:39So now, if you're the Giants and a diehard Giants fan,
09:43your quarterback, Jackson Dart, is done for the year.
09:46Your best pound-for-pound player, Burns, is done for the year.
09:50But at least you have a coach.
09:52Because you have Arizona coming up.
09:55You have Washington coming up.
09:57And even though the enthusiasm is going to be curbed like no other,
10:01the Giants now have elite coaching that's going to keep them in a lot of games
10:06that they shouldn't be in and have them win games when they don't play at their best.
10:11So, I'm not trying to sit here and cheer up any fan of the New York football Giants.
10:16The game was ugly.
10:18The season's been ugly.
10:20The injury report is ugly.
10:22But if you didn't know, now you know.
10:24The New York football Giants absolutely have a head coach.
10:28And that is amazing news if you're a Giants fan.
10:33Up next, it's time for Monday Music.
10:35With everything else going on in the NFL world,
10:38we're going to begin in Rio with that debacle of a Cowboys loss next on Chime Time.

10:52Frustrated as hell.
10:53Excuse me.
10:55Embarrassed.
10:56We call ourselves the best offense, you know, Gotti.
10:59And we get down in the one-yard line and don't put it in.
11:03Yeah, it just sucks.
11:04Coach called the play.
11:05We all, everyone was on the same, same, same timing.
11:10Zay did a great job.
11:11Lion did a great job at protecting.
11:13Zay ran a great route.
11:14And I just had to deliver the baby.
11:16He called it.
11:17And I would just, as soon as he get down, I'll,
11:19please see me, Ralph.
11:21Yeah, but he did.
11:22Twelve games in the NFL this past Sunday were decided by one possession.
11:27It was the single craziest NFL Sunday ever.
11:31And what transpired in Rio with the Ravens and the Cowboys?
11:36I've never seen anything quite like it.
11:38In fact, it was genuinely historic.
11:41First time in NFL history, both teams made a field goal
11:46in the final 10 seconds of regulation.
11:50Look at this.
11:52Absolutely, positively insane.
11:55And the fact of the matter that Brian Schottenheimer
12:01went full McDermott and opted to not squib that kick and kick off
12:09and they're able to get at the Ravens at the 35-yard line
12:13with the touchback, as you see right there,
12:15seven seconds becomes what 13 seconds was for Buffalo Bills fans.
12:20And then, bam, from the 35, Lamar Jackson drops back.
12:25The defense Christian Parker ran was nonexistent.
12:29What the hell was that, prevent?
12:31I mean, that's amateur hour.
12:33And the fact that you saw Jackson drop back and throw that missile,
12:38and then, bam, Tyler Loop hits that.
12:41So he throws the missile, Flowers catches it, instantly calls the timeout.
12:45One second left.
12:46Loop makes the kick.
12:48This is the same Tyler Loop who ended the Harbaugh era
12:51when he missed that kick in Pittsburgh.
12:55That was crazy.
12:56Man, unbelievable.
12:58And you heard what Dak Prescott had to say at the beginning of this segment,
13:02which was they had the opportunity to win it.
13:06And anyone who's ever watched a Brian Schottenheimer coach team,
13:10every single Jets fan on planet Earth.
13:14I mean, we could go back to Championship Sunday against Pittsburgh,
13:17and where's Sean Green and LaDainian Tomlinson, right?
13:21Every, anyone who's ever watched a Brian Schottenheimer coach team,
13:24this is why you can't trust Shottie.
13:27I mean, this is the same Shottie who ruined Christmas
13:29when he's throwing 50 times with Mark Sanchez in the Victor Cruz game.
13:33The fact of the matter is, it's first and goal.
13:37And they called pass interference on Nate Webster,
13:40and it was an atrocious call.
13:42Unacceptable call.
13:43And J.J. Watt was all over this on the CBS broadcast.
13:46Terrible call.
13:47The officiating was bad all game.
13:49The Ferguson, you know, fumble, that was terrible.
13:53Should have been incomplete.
13:54Refs are bad on all sides.
13:56Dallas absolutely outplayed the Baltimore Ravens.
13:59They should have won that game.
14:00They called that P.I. on Webster, and it was a terrible call.
14:05But you have to capitalize if you're the Dallas Cowboys.
14:08And it's first and goal from the two.
14:10And you see an incomplete pass to Pickens.
14:14Okay, second and goal.
14:17False start.
14:18And then Prescott scrambles for a couple yards.
14:22And then Shottie with 14 seconds to go.
14:26Timeout!
14:27Why?
14:28Why would you stop the clock there?
14:30Made absolutely no sense, which set up everything for the back end.
14:36So then on third down, and I love Dag Prescott, George Pickens is wide open in the end zone.
14:43He got spooked.
14:45He threw it away.
14:46He didn't want to pick six.
14:48And then you have the Aubrey field goal, and the rest is literally history.
14:51I mean, this, this is the anatomy of a debacle, a disaster, as bad as it gets.
14:58Seven seconds.
15:00Seven seconds.
15:02And that Tyler Loop, that kick, the Jim Nance call, a trio in Rio, sheer perfection.
15:09That's one, if you're a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, I mean, you are sick.
15:14You stoned Derrick Henry on fourth and goal a couple of times.
15:17You, it wasn't one of those games where Lamar Jackson was just absolutely off the charts.
15:23You outplayed him.
15:25I mean, it's simple as that.
15:26Look at this.
15:26Look at the numbers for Lamar.
15:29I mean, they're fine.
15:30They're, they're good.
15:32They're not eye-popping.
15:35Dag Prescott was the better quarterback.
15:38The fact that they couldn't win that game, cash in, capitalize, was a disgrace.
15:45And honestly, that's all coaching.
15:47Seriously, I feel bad for the Cowboys fans.
15:50You guys absolutely deserved more.
15:53You deserve better.
15:55And that's pathetic.

15:59That was, you know, credit Lamar, credit, obviously, Loop, credit Flowers.
16:03This, to me, was about the Cowboys choking.
16:06That was just a complete and utter waste of time, a disgrace, the way that Brian Schottenheimer
16:12managed the end of that game.

16:19Let's head to Denver.
16:21I'm comfortable with, like, this is a team that can, because our, our, our games, you're
16:27going to be in tight games.
16:29But, um, as the head coach, you can't possibly be comfortable with the way the first half
16:36unfolded.
16:37Yeah, it's tough.
16:38You know what?
16:38But this is sports.
16:39You sign up for all of it.
16:40And, uh, love our group.
16:41Um, just came up short.
16:43Give the Broncos credit.
16:44They found a way to get it done.
16:45We'll look at ourselves and figure out how we can improve.
16:48The Rams got robbed.
16:51There is no other way to frame it.
16:53The Rams got absolutely positively robbed.
16:58There was a pick six that should have sealed the game.
17:02And you saw Josh Wallace with that interception, and the game was over.

17:10And the fact that they called pass interference on that particular play was a true crime.
17:16An embarrassment.
17:18One of the worst calls I've ever seen.
17:20It made the aforementioned call with Webster and the Baltimore-Dallas game look like child's
17:26play.
17:26Because on the heels of the back and forth, the ebb and flow, you see that interception,
17:32and they say pass interference?
17:34It was a clear as day.
17:36And Bryant, the receiver, he absolutely sold it.
17:39Give him an Emmy.
17:41Give him an Oscar.
17:42Give him an Academy Award.
17:43I mean, he was like Denzel Washington out there.
17:46I mean, that was acting personified.
17:49That can't happen.
17:50You know, is that Sean McVay, Sean Payton, New Orleans Rams payback?
17:55I mean, Terry McCauley on the NBC broadcast just destroyed the officials.
18:00By the way, on the rest of the drive, instead of a game-winning, game-sealing interception,
18:05you know, Bo Nick still has the ball.
18:07And then the third down penalty with the illegal hands, that was a disgrace.
18:13So instead of a game-tying field goal, we're talking about a go-ahead touchdown.
18:19The whole thing was a disaster.
18:21A complete and utter disaster.
18:23That Wallace pick, when it's called, I mean, a phantom pass interference, that is a joke.

18:32Listen, the Denver Broncos were able to get a win.
18:35But in no universe is any Bronco fan sitting here thinking, you know what?

18:46The Rams got hosed.
18:47Now, if you're a Rams fan, what you're upset about, and I thought the NBC broadcast did an unbelievable job

18:56Melissa Stark had a great report on Sean McVeigh telling his team to play with some more juice on the

19:01Listen, you're up 16-0, and you blew it, okay?

19:08You choked, and you allowed Denver to come back in this one.
19:13Matthew Stafford had that pick six.

19:17But then, bam, Matthew Stafford was able to come back and just respond brilliantly with the four-play 77-yard

19:25The touchdown to Mumfield, 48 yards.
19:28That should have been the game winner.
19:30The fact that they called pass interference on that particular play, and that didn't go down as a game-sealing
19:39interception,
19:40and now the Rams are 1-2, and they're on the wrong side of history here in terms of the
19:47officiating, a disgrace.
19:49That was robbery.
19:51It was thievery on national TV.
19:55That's one of the worst calls that impacts a win or a loss I've ever seen.
20:01If I'm a Rams fan, I would be sick to my stomach, and I would never, ever get over this.
20:07Look, we can go back to the Seattle Rams game last year, that Thursday night.
20:12Crazy call.
20:13Bad officiating.
20:14Not hyperbole then to say that cost the Rams home field on Championship Sunday.
20:20So now, the Rams are 1-2.
20:23That means there are a couple of games behind San Francisco, and San Francisco has, you know, one game head

20:31That is brutal.
20:32I would never get over that.
20:34Sean McVay was pissed.
20:36The team was pissed.
20:37I'm pissed.
20:38Rams fans are pissed.
20:40That was a disgrace by the officials last night.
20:43Staying in the NFC West, the biggest upset of Week 3, took place in the nation's capital,
20:48where the commanders, led by Marcus Mariota, took down the defending Super Bowl champs, the Seattle Seahawks.
20:57This was, on a wild NFL Sunday, the biggest upset special of them all.
21:03I still can't believe this actually happened.
21:06Sam Darnold, in my opinion, we talked about this when he got hurt originally.
21:10Should not have played.
21:12I'm not a doctor.
21:13Occasionally, I play one on television.
21:14I didn't think he was ready to come back, and I was surprised that this transpired.
21:19It was a weird week for Seattle, coast-to-coast flight.
21:22Mike McDonald is fighting Graham Benzinger in what was on record, off record, the whole
21:27Sean Payton nonsense.
21:29And listen, you know, the two interceptions, including a pick-six that Darnold threw, that's
21:33not great.
21:34And that's, you know, not what you want if you're a Seattle Seahawks fan.
21:38It's not what you want if you had Seattle in your survivor pool.
21:42I didn't.
21:43I had Kansas City.
21:44You're welcome.
21:44I hope you paid attention when I told you to take the Chiefs.
21:46Marcus Mariota pitching the perfect game against the Seahawks defense.

21:55Listen, I think the Seahawks will use this as a learning experience, use this as a rallying

22:01I think the world of Darnold, Jackson Smith, and Jigba had a big game.
22:05But this was stunning.
22:07It's one thing if Jaden Daniels beats you, right?
22:09The commanders stink.
22:10Line is awful.
22:11Defense is awful.
22:12Coach is awful.
22:13Organization's awful.
22:14Field is awful.
22:15If Jaden Daniels lights you up, okay, this made absolutely no sense.
22:21And honestly, at the end of the day, I still can't believe it transpired.
22:25I'm not going to hot take either side in terms of the commanders are better than I thought
22:31or Seattle's going to fade away.
22:33But this was, to me, pound for pound, as stunning a result as we've had all season long in the
22:42National Football League.
22:44The leaders in the NFC West, we reference them.
22:46The 3-0 San Francisco 49ers, led by the elite play from Brock Purdy.
22:53Is he right now the best quarterback in the NFL?
22:57Is there any quarterback in football right now playing better than Brock Purdy?
23:02I mean, I'd be surprised, but I don't study the other quarterbacks right now, so I don't
23:06really know what anyone else is doing except for the guys that we go against.
23:08I don't get to see any of that.
23:09But, I mean, I think it's really hard to play much better than he's playing right now.
23:14Shanahan is right.
23:15And I think that when you look at Brock Purdy and what he's been able to do the last 10
23:21times
23:21he has played football, it is historic.
23:25Seriously.
23:26Look at this.
23:27And also, factor in last year and this year, all the injuries for the San Francisco 49ers.
23:35I still believe the leader in the clubhouse, it's three weeks, but again, there are odds
23:39on this, and it's a talking point.
23:41I believe the leader in the clubhouse for NFL MVP is Josh Allen.
23:46Brock Purdy is number two on my list.
23:48Like, I literally keep a list.
23:50I'm one of the 50 voters for the award.
23:52If the season ended today, and it doesn't, my ballot would go Josh Allen number one, Brock
23:59Purdy number two.
24:01Considering everything, all the injuries, the domination, the accuracy, the way Purdy is
24:08just in step and in sync with Kyle Shanahan, I think Brock Purdy could be the most underrated
24:14quarterback in the history of the NFL.
24:17Seriously.
24:18Because I think he's always, and I'm guilty of this sometimes, he's always under the radar
24:24because we always have to tag it with, well, he's playing for Kyle Shanahan.
24:28That's not meant as an insult.
24:31That's meant as a compliment.
24:33And Shanahan runs such a tremendous and terrific offense.
24:37And just like when Matt Ryan won the MVP with Kyle calling the plays the year that Atlanta
24:42went to the Super Bowl and ended up losing to the New England Patriots, and Matt Ryan was
24:47the MVP.
24:48Right now, you feel these kind of vibes with Brock Purdy.
24:52Listen, we just got done talking about how Seattle lost to the Washington Commanders with Marcus
25:00Mariota.
25:01Brock Purdy has been the best and most dominant player on the San Francisco 49ers.
25:08So I truly think that he deserves this kind of love, this kind of early season attention.
25:14And Brock Purdy has been the best and the cleanest quarterback in the first three weeks of this
25:24NFL season.
25:25You know who else is 3-0?
25:27The Vegas Raiders.
25:44All right, man, hey, man, hey, guys, that's what resilience looks like, okay?
25:49That's you guys believing in each other, okay?

26:47They won three games all of last year.

27:04Max Crosby, after everything that happened with the Baltimore Ravens, back with the Raiders.

27:48And they were able to make plays on defense and come back.
27:51How about when they forced that fumble, and then, bam, Kirk goes, able to hit White for
27:56that touchdown on that rifle in the back of the end zone.
27:59How about Clint Kubiak calling the plays, keeping everything buttoned up and buckled up, and
28:04the energy going, and the organization.
28:07And Brock Bowers is back.
28:09He's the best tight end in football.
28:11Now he's back, and he's healthy.
28:1310 catches, 116 yards, and a touchdown.
28:17I mean, my goodness.
28:20That's who Brock Bowers is.
28:22And when you look at the schedule, they can absolutely keep the good times rolling.

29:24And if you can beat the Chargers in the fashion that you did, if you can take care of business
29:28in New Orleans and come back against a brilliantly coached Kellen Moore team, and you can go
29:35into the Superdome.
29:36That was a home opener in New Orleans.
29:38They have unbelievable fans, unbelievable crowd, and you can stay together, you can
29:44meet anyone, including the Kansas City Chiefs in week number four.

32:14Flip side of your Bills, fam, I'm going to stress the positive because we're looking at

32:31Every Bills fan alive knows prior years, according to the script, according to history, you lose
32:39this game.
32:40And it's a disaster, and the sky is falling, and you don't get home field advantage in the

32:46The fact that you were able to win this game with New England coming up this week, that
32:53is a terrific and tremendous job and an ugly performance by the Buffalo Bills, which is
33:00why I think you could only stress the positive here if you root for Buffalo.
33:04Now, we know the Chargers stink.
33:06You know who else stinks?
33:07Drake May.
33:08His performance yesterday in Jacksonville, and let's be honest, the last seven times he's
33:13played football has been absolutely positively abysmal.
33:18I want you to look at this, right?
33:21Drake May has been atrocious.
33:25Absolutely atrocious.
33:27The last seven times he has played football.
33:31He, I mean, look at the total touchdown to turnover ratio.
33:35Because we're talking about the four playoff games last year and the three regular season
33:40games this year, they lost 35-6 to Jacksonville.
33:47They just kicked the Patriots' ass.
33:50I thought Jacksonville would win.
33:52It was one of my best bets of the week.
33:54This was a disgrace.
33:57Drake May looks like Zach Wilson.
34:00And understands that I think Zach Wilson is the worst.
34:05Like, as bad a bust as you could ever have in the history of the NFL.
34:10Watching him play, if you're a Jets fan for those years, was soul-sucking.
34:15And this is Drake May, who, and I'm a voter, was second on my list on my actual ballot for
34:21NFL MVP.
34:22Matthew Stafford was my clear number one.
34:24And I voted May for MVP, for number two for MVP, because he earned it.
34:29He was number two on the list.
34:30When we did our quarterback ranking going into the year on Shine Time for 2026, Drake May
34:35was in my top ten.
34:37I didn't think the Patriots would make the playoffs.
34:39I thought May would take a step back.
34:41But this, no chance.
34:44Three games this year, he has one touchdown and six interceptions.
34:47Last year, when he was number two for MVP, 31 touchdowns, eight picks.
34:55He has six picks in three games already.
34:58By the way, six picks.
35:01Most interceptions, okay, in three weeks, first three weeks of a season, for a quarterback
35:09who went to the Super Bowl since Rex Grossman.
35:15That's gross, man.
35:17Now, the Patriots, 29 points this year on 30 drives.
35:27Fewest points per drive since Zach Wilson's Jets in 2021.
35:33When you look like Zach Wilson, that means you have failed.
35:37And Drake May, and I want it on record, because I saw it last year.
35:42I'm not going to pretend that I did it.
35:43Drake May has everything you want in a quarterback.
35:46He's super smart.
35:47He's athletic.
35:48He's accurate.
35:49He throws the deep ball.
35:51He can handle everything.
35:53Drake May last year was phenomenal.
35:56This year, he's Zach Wilson.
35:58He looks broken.
36:00After the game, he blamed the fumble on blood on the football.
36:04The center was bleeding.
36:06Blaming it on blood on the football.
36:09If you're a Patriots fan, your heart bleeds every time you watch Drake May drop back to pass this year.
36:15What a disaster.
36:17And again, schedule last year was cake.
36:19This year, it's difficult.
36:21We said the Patriots would miss the pops, and A.J. Brown's hurt.
36:24And the teams they've played have good defenses.
36:27But this is a disaster.

36:32How is Drake May going to beat Buffalo?
36:34Spoiler alert, it's not going to happen.
36:36This is a full-fledged fiasco, if you're a fan of the New England Patriots.
36:42You have to remind yourself, Drake May did beat Aaron Rodgers in the Steelers last week,
36:45but how about our guy Aaron Rodgers turning it around against the Bengals on Sunday?
36:51Listen, this is not, you know, I know this is the media day and age that we're in.
36:55There's overreactions when we put up three points and look like, dog, you know what?
37:00You know, we had a nice game today.
37:02We put up over 400 yards and 30 points, and it could have been a lot more.
37:07But every week is a different week.
37:09Different challenge, different opponent, different defense.
37:12We've got to be critical of some things.
37:14There's a lot of things to clean up.
37:15We had some drops, had some MAs, but I thought it was a tighter week for us mentally,
37:20as far as execution-wise.
37:24That was vintage Aaron Rodgers.
37:27292 yards, three touchdowns.
37:29Aaron Rodgers threw completions to nine different receivers.
37:34This was Rodgers against the Bengals defense that I have been raving about
37:38in the first two weeks of the season was as good or better than anyone in the entire league.
37:43That was it.
37:44Let's give Mike McCarthy credits.
37:46He revamped the offensive line.
37:48That's where it started.
37:49Let's give Jalen Warren credit.
37:50They couldn't run the ball at all the first two weeks.
37:53Rico Dowdle was heard.
37:54Warren was magnificent.
37:56And as a result, play action worked brilliantly.
38:00Rodgers hit Roman Wilson for a touchdown.
38:03DK Metcalf decided he wanted to catch the ball.
38:05Ben Skoranek had a touchdown.
38:07Loved the involvement of the tight ends.
38:09The way Washington was able to rumble.
38:12The whole thing was ridiculously impressive from a Pittsburgh Steeler perspective.
38:17This was everything you wanted if you're a Steeler fan.
38:20This is what you expected.
38:22This is exactly what we thought was going to happen for the Pittsburgh Steelers before the season started.
38:27Look, I never sugarcoated it.
38:30Week one and week two, that was awful.
38:32The offense was terrible.
38:34But I think a lot of people were just giving up on Rodgers and McCarthy, which never made any sense.
38:40By the way, with the win yesterday, their 100th victory as a pairing.
38:44That's an all-time great kind of match.
38:47Seventh quarterback and head coach combo to have 100 wins together.
38:50That's pretty unbelievable.
38:52And a golden opportunity now to ultimately go to Cleveland coming up on Thursday and start the season 3-1.
39:01And this, I'm telling you, this is a big deal for the Steelers.
39:05They made plays on special teams.
39:07They made plays on defense.
39:09It was a terrific game back and forth.
39:11Joe Burrow doing his thing.
39:12Touchdown to Tee Higgins when he was basically on his derriere in the end zone.
39:18Burrow, great connection with Jamar Chase.
39:20The Jasecki touchdown, that was incredible.
39:23But the defense forced that fumble late.
39:26Special teams caused a fumble, which was terrific.
39:29The crowd in Pittsburgh was awesome.
39:32I thought this was just a reminder.
39:35Relax.
39:36As Rodgers once famously said, R-E-L-A-X.
39:40And I still think that Pittsburgh Steelers are going to make the playoffs in 2026.
39:45So the Steelers are 2-1, just like every team in the AFC North.
39:50And that includes the Browns.
39:53Deshaun Watson led a game-winning drive against the Panthers on Sunday, much to the delights of the dog pound.
40:01Let's give Watson credit.
40:03I thought he did a really good job.
40:07A couple of touchdown passes to Harold Fennin Jr.
40:10And this was one of those games where if you're a Browns fan, you say to yourself, yes, you feel
40:15like there's something going on here with Cleveland.
40:19That the game against Tampa in Week 2 was not a fluke.
40:24Listen, Panthers have talent.
40:27Panthers are well coached.
40:28To be able to come back in this game, I thought was a big deal.
40:33And if nothing else, right, it just quiets everything down.
40:39It gives the Browns fans a reason to be optimistic.
40:43Because at the end of the day, this team, the pessimism, the chaos, the confusion, all the Shador Sanders stuff,
40:51all the previous Deshaun Watson nonsense.
40:54It's nice to give the long-suffering Brown fan a reason to be fired up as you get ready for
41:01Pittsburgh on a short week.
41:02Now, are we going to start believing in Deshaun Watson big picture?
41:06No, absolutely not.
41:08Are we going to give credit where credit is due for the last two weeks?
41:11Yes, absolutely.
41:13Coming up, it's New York State of Shine.
41:14The Jets come up short.
41:16The Yankees are ready for the Red Sox.
41:18And the Knicks begin their repeat quest at the podium.

41:57They're very even.
41:58They basically played the same game.
42:01Jameer Gibbs was outstanding.
42:03He deserves a lot of credit.
42:05Had a bunch of majestic runs.
42:07And the Lions win the game at home.
42:11If you're looking for a hot take on the Jets losing to Detroit 31-24, you've come to the wrong
42:21place.
42:22I don't think this is a game where you look at it and say, Aaron Glenn can't coach.
42:29Or the Jets are cursed.
42:31Or same all Jets.
42:33I think it underscores what happened in Week 2.
42:37That was the game the Jets absolutely had.
42:42And they blew it.
42:44And Aaron Glenn cost the team.
42:46And they absolutely destroyed the Green Bay Packers in every possible way until the end
42:53where Glenn and Frank Reich doomed them.
42:55And they beat them up in every way except for the final score.
42:58So, sometimes in the NFL, things happen.
43:03And you have to credit the other team.
43:05I thought the Jets were capable of winning a one-score game.
43:09They lost a road one-score game to a team that's better.
43:15Week 3 is not a referendum on anything.
43:19Seriously.
43:20If anything, it just hits home the agony of Week 2.
43:24Because we will continue to raise the bar when it comes to Jets football.
43:30Because if the New York Jets, at the end of the day, don't show significant progress,
43:36they will have a new head coach.
43:38I think Matt LaFleur is a terrific name as the next head coach of the Jets.
43:44I think Cliff Kingsbury makes sense.
43:47I think Declan Doyle makes sense.
43:49I think that someone like Davis Webb makes sense.
43:52Obviously, if he wants to come out of the booth where he is fantastic on Football Night in America,
43:58Mike Tomlin wants to coach the Jets?

44:01You want Brian Flores, the New York native, to coach the Jets?
44:04Great.
44:04But I also think it's a little early for this conversation.
44:08And I don't think Week 3 is the fire Aaron Glenn week.
44:13I think it was Week 2, which is why, if you're a Jets fan, or if you expect it like
44:18I did,
44:20this team to win 7-9 games based upon talent and schedule,
44:25that's why this is such a disappointment to be 1-2 at this stage.

44:34I mean, he is unbelievable.
44:35The defense is not loaded with talent.
44:38I thought, again, against a high-powered Detroit team, Amon Ross St. Brown was great.

44:48If you're looking for a hot take on the Jets in Detroit, you're not getting one from me.
44:54It underscores, though, the absurdity of Week 2.

45:36Phillies, Braves, you know, two teams that have, you know, big-time fan bases, NL East.
45:41That's going to be a lot of fun.
45:43But obviously, all eyes are on Yankees-Red Sox.

45:49And the Yankees yesterday announced their plans in terms of the pitching rotation.
45:55And they did exactly what we said they should do.

51:43who celebrated all over the fields and since has been suspended a couple of things here and there's
51:52a lot with this particular hit first of all you hope Dante Moore is okay seeing Kim lay there and

52:01Dante Moore and any player you're thinking of health and safety and you know obviously his well-being and
52:07you know Dante Moore decided not to at the end of the day go into the draft and needed more
52:13experience and I
52:14applauded him for that because he wasn't ready and he gets hit and I'm worried about him but it was

52:21because we can debate the hit and let me say this the hit was ugly clearly going for the head
52:31more slid late all can be true but when you see that awful image and I was watching the game

52:42Saturday night seeing Steven celebrate like this he suspended for a game it should be significantly more
52:51that was repulsive disgusting damning and there's no place for that we can have an intelligent football

53:58realistic chance that the Miami Dolphins don't win a game I don't think they're trying to win a game
54:05I think they're clearly breaking it down to build it back up A-Chan was clearly the best player on
