00:03It was a long, wet and windy weekend on Long Island as residents of the island dealt with an early
00:09season nor'easter.
00:11Strong winds lashed the island on Saturday morning through Saturday night causing tree damage,
00:16bringing down trees and large tree branches and causing power outages for some communities such as East Hampton.
00:22Then on Sunday as the storm got closer, residents along the south shore were dealing with floodwaters.
00:27Tidal surge and storm surge coming in caused water to go over roadways and even into some homes and businesses.
00:34Even still today as the storm slowly moves to the north we're still dealing with rainy conditions causing difficult rush
00:41hour travel conditions this morning
00:42and making for generally a wet, rainy, dreary day.
00:46Thankfully this being an early season storm we dealt with tons of rain and not feet of snow that was
00:51typical with a late season nor'easter.
00:53And because of that residents were able to get back to normal life with people going to work this morning
00:57and students going to school.
00:58As the storm moves off to the north we'll continue to get rain here on the East Coast and hopefully
01:03we'll see some sunny days ahead.
01:05But this early season storm may be a harbinger of what's to come later this fall and winter with a
01:11busy nor'easter pattern.
