Storm chaser Aaron Jayjack reports from Des Moines, Iowa, as severe thunderstorms start ramping up in the Hawkeye State once again.
Transcript
00:00The parade of severe storms continues to march across the Midwest this week with yet again, another severe threat here
00:07in Iowa this afternoon and evening. Right now I'm here in Des Moines, Iowa, and it is very humid. The
00:14sun is out and conditions are continuing to increase for a severe weather threat today. In fact, right now we
00:21have some severe weather just to the northwest of Des Moines that is currently above north of a boundary that
00:27will be a focal point today for that severe weather.
00:30The storm right now is likely just a hail producer and strong wind producer, but later this afternoon, late this
00:36afternoon, into the evening hours, we are expecting supercells to fire south of the boundary, and that boundary will be
00:43across southern Iowa. So somewhere south, southwest of Des Moines and points to the east across southern Iowa will likely
00:51see severe weather this afternoon and evening. That will pose all hazards risk. Strong winds, damaging hail, and tornadoes will
00:58all be possible.
00:59with any supercell that can form in this warm sector today. Reporting for AccuWeather from Des Moines, Iowa, I'm Aaron
01:06J. Jack.
