01:28So what you're saying, the stats are awful, they're ugly.

01:48You're the only person on the planet, I think, that looks at it as a three-game sample.

01:56Everyone else that has eyeballs and a brain is looking at last year's and how the season ended
02:05and using that as a continuation into this year when they evaluate Drake May.
02:09And if you do that and you look at the last seven games, the last seven games Drake May has
02:14played, the four playoff games in the Super Bowl last year combined with the three regular
02:19season games so far this year, he's got 16 turnovers.

02:25Now, I'm the biggest Drake May honk there is.

02:30But there's something off with him.
02:33And if you can't see that based off of the way the season ended last year and the start
02:39of this year, then I think you're fooling yourself.

02:44Do I think this is a referendum on how he's going to be for the rest of his career?

02:50No, but there are some alarming things going on where you haven't even seen even hardly
02:56a little bit of a smidge of a flash of maybe there's some good football in him other than
03:02maybe the beginning of the Seahawks game when he had A.J.
03:05Brown healthy and available.
03:08So I just think it's kind of crazy not to include the inning last year when you're evaluating
03:14the start of his season so far.

03:18And the other thing that these games, I think, have done is it's given a little more of a
03:21clearer vision as to the fact that it's not the things that are around him that are the
03:27worst problem.
03:28The worst problem is him.
03:30He isn't confident.
03:31He can't take care of the football.
03:35Okay, but why is that the case?
03:37You think he just forgot how to play quarterback?
03:39Why is it flipping out of his hand?

03:43The pick in the end zone was horrible, but you don't think the things around him impact

03:48I think the receiver depth, the O-line structure, the calling of the plays, the coach.
03:53There are wide open players that he's not seeing.
03:56There are players that, I mean, how many times has he underthrown passes in the past several
04:00weeks?
04:01He's got no zip on the ball.
04:03There's something wrong.
04:04And I really hope, and this is not saying I hope someone's injured, because I don't
04:10want anybody injured, but I really hope it is an injury that we just don't know about
04:15or he's not talking about.
04:16Well, he kind of brought that up, too.
04:18Well, I mean, yeah, but because injuries heal.
04:22If it's mental, if he's all of a sudden shaken from a hit that he took or from the PTSD
04:29from
04:29the Super Bowl and I'm with you, I know he was bad before that, but I thought it was
04:32an injury, if that's the case, that's a hell of a lot tougher to get out of.
04:38So you hope that it is, because he's not the same, he's just not the same quarterback.
04:42And Ted, you know, there's a theory that, you know, in the second year he kind of took
04:47everyone by surprise and now everyone's got tape on him.
04:50But, I mean, do you believe that that's part of the problem?
04:52I don't think that's part of the confidence problem that he has, right?
04:59His confidence to me is, it's a carryover from last year.
05:04Like, again, I keep referencing this, you know, the analogy where you're, you know, it's
05:09like you've got to chill in your bone and you just, no matter what you do to try and warm
05:13up, you can't get it out.
05:14It's just kind of, you're just, you're freezing.
05:16And I feel like there's just, his body, it just, it's fed up.
05:22He can't slow down.
05:23He can't relax.
05:24He can't just take a beat.
05:27And he's, his timing's off.
05:29His footwork is off.
05:31I mean, guys, he had a throw.
05:33He, they had a play design that was perfect for him.
05:37You know, I've been calling for these moving pockets.
05:39All right.
05:39And it was, it's called a dash play.
05:41It's like a half rollout.
05:42All right.
05:43And, and what it does is it gets him moving to his right, which is where he naturally wants
05:47to go.
05:47So, and it has, there's a route where it's a shallow and a deep route.
05:52And it was a wide open corner route to Demario Douglas.
05:57And he's got a great lane, great lane, a sight, a sight line to throw it to him.
06:04He's wide open and he does his traditional skip and rip where he kind of jumps and throws
06:09it.
06:10Last year, he was money.
06:12Didn't miss any of those.
06:14Yeah.
06:14He overthrows pop Douglas on wide open.
06:16That would have been an easy touchdown.
06:18It's so hard to explain guys what, what it is.
06:21You can sit there and say, they're putting too much on his plate and maybe they are.
06:23But if you look at the first play of the game, what the first play of the game was for

06:27Patriots was a, was a, a, a play to get him loosened up and in rhythm.
06:33It was like a little kind of mini swing route screen play to Ramondre Stevenson.
06:40All right.
06:41And they got nine yards and it was like an easy kind of just boom, throw it out to Ramondre
06:45on a swing route.
06:46He catches the ball, breaks the tackle and gets, it gets a, of like three or four yards
06:50and just to get them in rhythm.
06:52And even that doesn't work.
06:53So I could see what Josh was trying to do to get him in the right frame of mind to
06:57kind
06:57of settle him down.
06:57But then it just, it went back to the, you know, his, his kind of his, like the cat on
07:03a hot tin roof guys is, and he can't stop just, uh, you know, kind of settling his, his
07:08mind and his body right now.
07:10And it's, uh, it sucks because he's a lot, he's a lot better quarterback than he's playing
07:14right now.
07:14It's funny.
07:15Cause I said this on the air last week and I see somebody on the tech saying the same
07:19thing is my hope was that he didn't have the yips.
07:23Like if it's in his head, dude, that is one of the scariest things you've seen.
07:27You've seen players just absolutely.
07:29And it happens a lot, obviously in baseball and it happens in football where you just,
07:32oh, they're never the same person again.
07:34But I don't think that I still think that somewhere in there that Drake may from last
07:39season is there.
07:40And I don't know what, it just seems like every game, it becomes more evident that the
07:46majority is just on him.
07:49It's not as much the plays.
07:51It's not as much the personnel that he misses.
07:53It's him.
