00:06troubleshooting steps you can try on your PC or laptop. Before we do get started if this tutorial

00:22maybe it's just not opening or it's just stuck on the loading screen there's a couple of things you
00:26can try. The first thing you're going to want to do from your desktop is come down to your search
00:30box
00:30in the taskbar at the bottom. In here you want to type Minecraft and it should come up underneath
00:35best match. What you want to do first is come to the right hand side and click to try to
00:39run this
00:40as an administrator. Now if that didn't work for you the next thing you can try from your desktop
00:45is if you come back down to your search box in the taskbar at the bottom. In here you want
00:50to type run
00:50and then open up run underneath best match. Once you've done that in the run box that comes up
00:56in the bottom left hand corner you want to type app data or one word and then click on to
01:02okay.
01:03What that's going to do is open up a folder like this. From here what you want to do is
01:07click onto
01:08the roaming folder and in the roaming folder you want to look for the dot Minecraft folder which
01:14should be at the top of the list. Double click to open up the dot Minecraft folder and from here
01:20what
01:20you want to do is just scroll down until you find a json file which called launcher profiles
01:26and you actually just want to delete this file from this dot Minecraft folder. Once that's done close
01:31this window down what you can then do is see if you can now launch Minecraft. Now if you're still
01:36having problems the next fix you can try is if you come back down to your search box in here
01:41you want
01:42to type add or remove and then underneath best match click onto add or remove programs. Now what that's
01:49going to do is open up a window like this from here you want to come and click into the
01:53search box at the top
01:54and type Minecraft. What you want to do is find the Minecraft launcher come to the right hand side
02:01click onto the three dots and then what you want to do is click onto advanced options. Then what you
02:07want to do is scroll down on this screen to the reset section and click the button to perform a
02:13repair.
02:14So it only takes a couple of seconds and it doesn't affect anything like your save data or any app
02:18data
02:19but once that's done you're going to get a small tick. What you can then do is close this down
02:23and again try to
02:24launch the Minecraft launcher. Now if after trying all of these methods you're still having an issue
02:29what I would recommend is a for an installation and reinstallation of the Minecraft launcher. So
02:35again from your desktop you just want to come down to your search box and then type add or remove
02:41programs and then open up add or remove programs underneath best match. Now once you've done that
02:46again use the search box type Minecraft into here and next to the launcher click onto the three dots
02:51where you're going to find the option to uninstall. So what you want to do is give that a click
02:55and
02:56run through the steps to uninstall the Minecraft launcher. Once you've done that what you can do
03:00is reinstall the Minecraft launcher and that should hopefully fix the problem and get the Minecraft
03:04launcher up and running again. So that is how to fix the Minecraft launcher not opening. Hopefully this
