02:40and technically you are correct right they've done what they had to do in the non-conference they beat

03:07a much more sophisticated defense very much like we saw for brett venables
03:12how was bryce throwing the ball against brent venables not well not well but he also wasn't
03:19asked to do a lot and nine completed passes um i i do think we'll see more quarterback runs
03:25than we saw against utep i just don't have the faith that we'll be able to run the ball
03:33against the iowa defensive front it took until the second half and then it was just merely you know

04:05right tackle he's an athlete he can do that but we've talked about the challenges of switching
04:09sides um evan link started last year at left tackle so he's got that in his bag of tricks he

04:17the left they didn't know until friday night so they didn't rep that that that entire offensive line
04:23in those positions at all last week so getting those guys a week's worth of preparation at those
04:31positions should help but they've also had an entire off season of preparation to have a better
04:38and reliable run game and i just don't trust that they'll be able to do that if they don't
04:44it complicates matters with bryce because if you're asking him to go win you a game against a phil parker
04:50iowa defense that's where i really have a lot of angst you might say yeah so the total to give

05:14for a college football game but it's michigan led by their defense and it's iowa always led by

05:30illinois they did play iowa state depleted and who's michigan played they can't run it on utep i
05:35agree i'm just this is kind of we're in that no man's land of you're starting conference play
05:41what do we believe i believe history that's does play a matter like i their reputation is exactly as
05:48you would expect a damn good defense they are playing the way iowa defenses typically play
05:55which is problematic for a michigan team that has struggled to get a push outside of eventually
06:00wearing down utep in the second half which by the way the field was so slanted michigan's defense
06:05really helped them out third quarter utep had negative 10 yards i mean at that point it's three
06:10and out three and out three and out you're gonna lean on someone you're gonna break the dam and
06:14michigan did but that's not how it's gonna be most weeks so in terms of confidence i mean they're
06:20favored but i don't even know if they should be this really feels like a coin flip game in ann

06:33traditionally they got a really good defense i believe they have a good defense even though i've
06:36just said you know hey they haven't really played anybody they've done what they're supposed to do
06:40i believe as well that michigan has a really good defense this is going to be their best rushing
06:46attack that they've faced and uh multan the number one running back for iowa didn't play last week he
06:53was a little nicked up so they turned to their next three running backs and they all ran for over
06:58100 yards they accounted for seven touchdowns okay so again northern iowa right so take it with a
07:06grain of salt but they may be the deepest backfield in college football interesting
