00:00Here's where my mind goes first, though. I think this is fascinating. There seems to be a little bit of
00:06a hesitation out there to go ahead and fall into what is obvious and real.
00:12And I'm curious, across the board, 888-957-9570. First of all, how long until you think it is okay
00:22to judge a team? And how do you then blend that in to now?
00:28Here's my quick take on it. I would like to, right now, roundly reject anything that suggests we need to
00:37wait. We need to wait before we decide this, that, or the other. I just don't think that's real. No,
00:46you don't. You don't need to wait.
00:48Things can change, and it doesn't make you wrong for what you're seeing right now. And I don't know if
00:55this is part fear, like someone's definitely going to get hurt, or if this is concern that you'll end up
01:04on old takes exposed, or what have you.
01:08But the answer to when can we start judging teams and players is now. Now and always now. I can
01:20judge the Rams for their week one performance, and now I can judge them for their week two performance.
01:25And we can predict, and we can guess, we can analyze, and I think most importantly, we can just tell
01:32everybody who might be listening how we feel.
01:35And right now, I think it feels really, really good to be a fan of the San Francisco 49ers. Somehow
01:43I'd like to get that across without sounding like I'm saying the Niners are going to win the Super Bowl
01:48this year, because that's months away.
01:50Do you understand how much shopping we need to do before the Super Bowl happens?
01:55You've got Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa. Diwali's in there too, I don't have the exact dates. We
02:02got a new year to celebrate. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday, and then we start thinking about February.
02:09And don't forget Valentine's Day, which is on the Super Bowl.
02:12Perfect. But between now and then, and shout out Indigenous People's Day, which is coming up before Halloween on your
02:19holiday calendar. So yeah, lots to do between now and then.
02:23And don't forget Pods Deadline, which is coming up before Halloween.

03:31So when you talk about, is it too early to judge?
03:33You're right, to the extent of, we judge all these teams every week, and I just was looking at the
03:39Niners schedule.
03:39Let's say they beat Arizona, Denver, and Seattle, and now you're 5-0.
03:44Oh, wow.
03:44Well, then you lose to Washington and Atlanta, and you go into the bye at 5-2.
03:48We'd be feeling a different way than if they beat Arizona, Washington, and Atlanta, but lost to those other two
03:56teams.
03:56So a 5-2, and it depends on how those go.
03:59If Seattle beats you 38-6, well, all of a sudden now, you're going to feel different than if Seattle
04:05beats you 15-14, you know?
04:07So to your point, the judgments are ongoing.
04:09Yeah, like, let's, like, I always love when people are like, because it's this great characteristic in humans, apparently, when
04:17they're not judgmental.
04:18And I'm, like, still waiting to meet the first human being that actually fits that description.

04:45But the idea that we don't judge things is crazy.
04:48Like, it's happening at a constant, rapid pace as our eyes are open and we walk through the street or

04:55It's happening constantly at all times.
04:58And a lot of it is just subconscious.

05:55You know, last week, I said I think the 49ers broke the Rams.
06:00Well, they looked really good last night.
06:02And then two people could watch the same game and go, ooh, see, the Rams are still the favorite.
06:09And then another person will go, the quarterback of the other team got hurt, and the whole thing went sideways
06:16immediately.
06:16And both things are true.
06:19So, I still think we've got to see, you know, like, I want to see this game on a short
06:25week at Denver at altitude now for the Rams, following this one, and missing a couple players.
06:30But Aaron Donald played, and by the way, he looks really good.
06:33So, I thought, like, last night carried a lot more good than bad for the Rams, no doubt about it.
06:39But that's as far as I want to take my judgment on them in this moment.
06:44But it is different than when we woke up yesterday.
06:47They now have a win.
06:48And so, same thing with the 49ers.
06:51So, 49er fans, I think that's something we want to get into today.
06:54Like, where are you in that discussion?
06:58And are you feeling sort of handcuffed by the world telling you, no, you have to wait before you can

07:09I am too, and I'm excited two games in, so I'm not quite ready to look at hotel rooms in

07:27And, yes, Miami's not very good.
07:30The Rams were, and you can say it was a funky trip to Australia, and the Rams weren't ready, and
07:34they didn't take it seriously.
07:35Whatever, you're going to come up against Arizona this weekend, and Arizona's a team full of professional football players, and
07:43you're home.
07:44You're more than a touchdown favorite.
07:45You are supposed to win, but Tampa was supposed to beat Cleveland, if I'm not mistaken.
07:51Baltimore was supposed to beat New Orleans.
07:53Right, so we can supposed to.
07:54The Chargers aren't supposed to be 0-2, so we can supposed to our way all the way through the
07:59season, or you just let it play out.
08:01Yeah, but I also, like, dive into each thing that does happen, and if there's one message that this NFL
08:10season, and they probably all do,
08:12but I feel like it's a little more intense this season, the message that I'm getting out of this season
08:17so far is,
08:18and we said it earlier, like, every Tuesday morning the world is different.
08:21It's completely different.
08:23We now live in an NFL world that, for the time being, will not include Jackson Dart, Caleb Williams, and
08:28Jaden Daniels.
08:29The NFC lost three major quarterbacks from, I don't know if they're contenders.
08:37The Bears certainly were.
08:38The Commanders wanted to think that they were.
08:40The Giants wanted to feel like they were an upstart outfit.
08:44The Vikings are 2-0.
08:46They're getting their quarterback back.
08:47Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
08:49We'll find out.
08:50And Seattle lost its quarterback.
08:52And they're 2-0.
08:53The Super Bowl winning quarterback.
08:54Right.
08:54And he might come back this week as well.
08:56Exactly.
08:57And they were talking about this earlier, and maybe, I think you threw it out there in the green room

09:02but the number of quarterbacks who play all 17, last year it was about a dozen of them, I think,
09:08and you were doing, like, a three-year look, if I'm not mistaken, like, how many quarterbacks have played in
09:14every game,
09:14and this is notwithstanding the week 18 where a lot of teams just shut them down, you know?
09:19Yeah, so the number was 40, this is since 2022, 41% of teams have their quarterback play all year
09:31long.
09:31Your week one starter then plays every game through week 17.
09:36Leave out week 18 because, as you said, some guys get held to the sideline.
09:40But that's the number.
09:42Over a four-year stretch, 41% of week one starters play and start in every game for the entire
09:50year.
09:50Now, that's not all injuries, but it's a lot.
09:52A lot of it is injury.
09:54Right.
09:54Some of that is our quarterback's not very good.

09:57Poor play.

09:58Yeah, and there's usually a small handful of those teams, like New Orleans last year, where they had the Rattler,
10:05and then eventually it was Shuck, and so they were trying to figure it out.
10:08But that actually is a higher number than I thought because last year, if I'm not mistaken,
10:13it was, like, 12 out of the 32 were able to have their quarterback play the whole time.

10:18Well, that fits somewhere in the neighborhood of that number.

11:08It just, yeah, it just meant a lot to me at the time because I didn't have serious sex.

11:21school.

11:23I got to say that the Warrior has been impressed with this from day one.
11:29I like to listen to the members of the uninformed media.
11:33I like to say Brock Purdy is a system quarterback, and that, yeah, he's a winning system quarterback.
11:40I think this team wins 13 games this year, obviously not including the playoffs.
11:45But I'm not a betting man, but I would bet that about 80% of the people out there have
11:51already been eliminated
11:52for their eliminator pool.
11:54I'm 2-0 right now.
