00:24Enjoy the win without having to make these sweeping conclusions.
00:28Keep in mind last year, beat the Seahawks, and then got embarrassed by them afterward.

00:35I don't find anything equal about this year and last year, and largely that's not my point.
00:41The list I have going against the Rams right now, the 49ers' victory over them, is not even the first
00:47thing.
00:49And by the way, I'm not making a sweeping conclusion, but I feel something's wrong.

00:58And all I can do, all any of us can do on this show or in any conversation is share
01:04what we feel.
01:05And I feel like something is wrong with the Los Angeles Rams.
01:09And yes, can you accuse me of being a little theatrical in saying that the 49ers did this?
01:16They broke them.
01:16But there's a piece of it that is that.
01:19The Rams spent an offseason as the big bad Super Bowl favorite, and I would argue that they welcomed that
01:27label.

01:29They did walk around with a little bit of a head held high.
01:32They did sort of let the world know that they thought that they had this trip figured out.
01:39We went to Europe last year this way, and we killed the Jags.
01:44We know what we're doing.
01:45Europe from the East Coast, by the way.

01:49Which is not like Australia at all.
01:53So, when you do that, when you let everyone believe that Aaron Donald and Miles Garrett are going to be
01:58unstoppable,
01:59and then one of them doesn't even go, and the other one doesn't play well and now ends up on
02:03IR.
02:04When your quarterback looks old overnight as he approaches 40.
02:11When you then hold a press conference, and I'm sorry, I know he's trying to back this statement up, but
02:17he still made it.
02:18I just want to see us be present right now and move forward.

02:23It's almost like you try to do the men in black thing where you say, all right, hey, I don't

05:35And then he signs with you, and you let everybody do the whole week of Aaron Donald and Miles Garrett.
05:41How are you going to block them?
05:43And the two of them combined for zero stats in the game.
05:48And now you want us to forget it.

05:55It becomes more forgettable if they beat the Giants.

05:58And, you know, you get to one and one, and God forbid the Niners have a hiccup, and they lose.
06:02And so now you're back tied with the Niners, although the Niners beat them in the head-to-head, so
06:06you'd still be ahead of them.
06:07But looking at the Rams schedule, this one shapes up to be pretty, pretty damn important based on what the
06:14Rams are facing in the near future and even in the short-term future.
06:18So, yeah, to fall to 0-2 and then have Buffalo and Kansas City both looming in the near future,
06:24that could be tough.
06:26I feel like something is off.
06:29That's really all I'm trying to say.
06:31I feel like something is off.
06:34And you can say that that's easy now because their best defensive player ended up on IR.
06:41I'm not even sitting here telling you that the Giants are going to beat them.
06:45But you pointed this out a number of times.
06:47Look at their schedule over the next month.
06:50This is problematic.
06:51Short week at Denver in week three, then you travel to Philly week four, home for the Bills in week
06:58five again on a Monday night,
07:00and then a short week against the Cardinals at home, and then you go to Vegas and take on the
07:05Raiders.
07:06So if you look at, okay, you beat the Cardinals, you beat the Raiders, even if you beat the Giants,
07:12but you lose to the Broncos, Eagles, and Bills, you're three and four.
07:16And that's not on a playoff track.
07:18No, and I'm not, you know, like, I mean, we're getting ahead of ourselves.
07:21I'm just like, they feel shook to me.

07:27You know, like, you don't need a flashy thingy.
07:32You just play the next game.
07:35If it didn't bother you, then just blow it off and go play the next game.
07:40And I realize that people are asking them questions and whatnot, but everything that they have touched so far from
07:49the Aaron Donald situation,
07:52Miles Garrett's knee, the trip and the travel plan to Australia,
07:58every single thing that they have conducted so far has not worked out.
08:04And it goes well, well past, this is not 49er bravado.
08:09This goes way past they lost a football game.
08:14So far, their plans have all not happened.
08:18All of them.
08:20Every single thing that they have planned to do.
08:23The way that they conducted the load management of Miles Garrett in August.

08:29The way that they conducted the return of Aaron Donald and let everybody think that he was definitely playing week
08:36one.

08:37The travel schedule.

08:39And then the performance itself.
08:40Nope.
08:42Like, just no.
08:44Like, no plans have worked and something feels very off to me.
08:49They might beat the Giants.
08:50I don't think they're going 0-17, but something feels off.
08:56And it would not surprise me if, as you put it, in a few weeks, we're talking about the Los
09:01Angeles Rams in grind mode.
09:04Grind mode.
09:06And sort of like refocusing what the expectations of the season are.
09:11It's because of just the way things are going to be going forward.
09:15And that's why, if I'm looking at their choice to fly in and fly out, I do believe, in their
09:21mind, it was going to be the best for them in week two.
09:24And then week three, by the time you get through week three, I think everything's back to, quote, normal.
09:29Although week three, they do go to altitude on a short week.
09:32So you go to altitude, and it's not like you're going to suddenly be, you know, ready to go off
09:38that.
09:38Because it's altitude.
09:39You go to Denver, that's a tough spot.
09:41And the Broncos are going to be super motivated because of the way they started their season.
09:46And so the early part of the year, it's a little bit wonky for them, having gone to Australia and
09:52taken the loss.
09:53And the other piece of it is, I hope we never go there again.
09:56Well, you're one of the teams that actually has that as your market.
10:00And I'm not saying you'll go there again next year because they won't.
10:03But if they're going to have games in Australia every year, and I would bet that they do.
10:08I don't know if you saw the fan growth in Australia.
10:10They picked up, like, 1.2 million fans over the last, like, six months.

11:06But I'll say he won me over in the last week.
11:09And I think that you bringing on that Joe Thomas guy on Monday and then hearing Daryl Johnston earlier today,

13:26I've never seen a holiday that screams, don't ever be on a weekday more than Halloween.

13:49And then, in the blink of an eye, they go from cute and in a costume and wired to wasted

13:56Like, you don't realize when you're a little kid what a drinking holiday Halloween is
14:03until you get into late teens and college, and it's just debauchery.

14:13And we're out here doing it on a Tuesday some years.

14:57There's the, I'm a kid trick-or-treat.

15:00My parents have no idea where I am.
15:02And there's that little tweener where you're out there causing havoc.

15:06So he's probably at the last year of the, I can still pull this off, and then next year,
15:12we're out there smashing pumpkins.
15:14I miss the days, because now, mine are old enough, I miss the days where you got to just
15:19hang in the street with a beverage.
15:22And then, you know, yeah, go, go, go, go knock on the door.
