00:00Here are 10 ways you can maximize storage all over your house, and even your yard.
00:05Plain plastic drawers are great for organizing, but they can look cheap and ruin your room's aesthetic.
00:11Grab one of these three drawer bins from Walmart.
00:14I picked up some half-round pieces of wood, and I need to cut them down to roughly 4.5
00:19inches each.
00:20Now it's time to attach them to the drawers.
00:23I picked up a multi-surface glue, so this is going to work really well on wood and plastic.
00:29And it dries clear.
00:31I'm just going to put a dab of glue on each side of the wood and put them all the
00:35way across the drawer.
00:36Now that everything's dry, I'm going to take this outside and add a coat of spray paint.
00:40I'm opting for a neutral beige color, and I'm going to cover the front of the drawer and the wood.
00:45I really like the contrast between the beige and the white, and I think these drawers look stunning.
00:50It's a huge upgrade from the basic drawers I started with.
00:53Wrangling an overflow of grocery bags can turn your pantry into a cluttered, frustrating mess.
00:59So I'm going to show you how an empty tissue box can rein the mess in.
01:03Take one plastic bag and put it in.
01:06Leave the two handles sticking out.
01:08Take a second bag, flatten it, and feed it through the handle loops.
01:13Give it a little bit of a bend and push that into the box as well.
01:16Repeat this process until you've filled the box completely.
01:19Now, you can neatly store your plastic bags and just pull one out as needed.
01:24Mismatched sheet sets tumbling out of your linen closet can make bedtime a nightmare.
01:29Start with your largest sheet folded in half, then lay your fitted sheet inside of it.
01:34Fold your large sheet in thirds over the smaller one, and then take one end and fold it halfway.
01:39Starting at the other end, you're going to do two half folds, and you're going to tuck it into this
01:44neat little pocket on the other side.
01:46Then, in that same pocket, you can tuck your matching pillowcases.
01:50Give them a quick smoothing out, and there you have it.
01:53Now all your matching sheets are in one adorable bundle that can be stored easily in your linen closet.
01:58A tiny bathroom sink leaves virtually zero room for soap, toiletries, or daily essentials.
02:05So I ran to the hardware store and picked up some wood.
02:08Once I got home, I determined how high I wanted my shelf to be.
02:12I have a pretty high faucet, so I needed to make mine pretty tall.
02:15You'll adjust yours to the height that's appropriate for you.
02:18I cut my wood down to the right length.
02:21Then, I simply placed my two pieces of wood together using an L-bracket.
02:25I didn't want the rough edge of the wood to show on top of my shelf,
02:29so I made sure to attach the L-bracket in a way that kept the rough edge underneath the top
02:34shelf.
02:34I set it into place and started playing around with how I wanted to organize my things on the new
02:39shelf.
02:39You can also stain the wood, or paint it, or do whatever looks great in your bathroom.
02:43That awkward gap between your washer and the wall is a waste of space, and it's where items get dropped
02:49and lost.
02:50I placed the tension rods between my washing machine and the wall.
02:53I made sure they were both level, and then I got a piece of wood to fit on top.
02:58I trimmed another scrap piece of wood for the front, and I used a brad nailer to secure them together.
03:03I grabbed shelf liner from the dollar store and stuck it to the wood to make it look like one
03:09large, thick board.
03:11I trimmed the edges and placed it on top of the tension rods.
03:14Now, I have a solution for more storage in my laundry room that actually looks good.
03:20Exposed odds and ends can make your shelves look cluttered and disorganized.
03:24Pick up a couple of bins and these barnwood boards at Walmart.
03:27These boards are already prepped, we just need to remove the twine from the back.
03:31I want to add a little detail, so I'm going to add a stenciled number to the top of each
03:35board.
03:36To the bottom, I want to add a little knob.
03:38Now, if you're using thicker wood, you can absolutely drill a hole and use the screw that comes with the
03:43knobs.
03:44Since this is very thin wood, I'm just going to use some super glue to attach it.
03:49Now, I want to place the board on the bin.
03:51This bin doesn't sit completely flat against the board, so I'm going to use some gorilla mounting tape on the
03:57clear bin.
03:58And then, I'm going to press the board on there really well.
04:00You can either set something heavy on top of this or use clamps to hold it in place for about
04:0530 minutes until it cures.
04:07Then, I'm going to hide some craft supplies in there that don't really fit anywhere else.
04:11Now, I have a beautiful, clean look on the outside and can easily access everything I need when I pull
04:16these out.
04:18Bulky cutting boards and heavy pans take up way too much cabinet and drawer space, so I grabbed this towel
04:25rod for the best kitchen hack.
04:27I used a stud finder to locate the studs.
04:30I wanted to drill at least one end of the towel rack into the studs.
04:34I put one end of the towel rack on, placed a level on top, and marked where the other side
04:39of the towel rack needed to be so that the rod would be level.
04:42For this side, I used drywall anchors to ensure a strong hold.
04:45Then, I grabbed some black shower curtain rings, placed them on the towel rack, and hung my favorite cutting boards
04:52and frying pan.
04:53Now, I have modern kitchen decor that's quick and easy to make.
04:57Standard utility pegboards add great storage, but they can ruin your room's decor.
05:03Grab some inexpensive pegboards, hooks, and shelves from your local dollar store.
05:08I have some leftover peel-and-stick wallpaper from another project.
05:12Lay your wallpaper face down on the table and position the pegboards on the paper with a few inches of
05:18space between each board.
05:20Outline each pegboard with a pencil and cut out each piece of wallpaper, including an additional inch outside the outline.
05:27With some sharp scissors, cut out the corners of the wallpaper.
05:30Peel the backing off the wallpaper and lay the pegboard face down on the sticky side of the paper.
05:37Press down firmly so you know the wallpaper is sticking.
05:40Wrap the outer edges of the wallpaper up and over the sides of the pegboard.
05:44Take a screwdriver, pencil, or other sharp object, and poke holes to the wallpaper and into the pegboard holes.
05:51Hang the boards with the hardware provided so it's secure on the wall.
05:55Line up the wallpaper pattern on your wall with the covered pegboard.
05:59The hardest part can be matching up with the pattern on the wall.
06:02But once you find it, it's so fun to line it up and see the pegboard disappear into the matching
06:08pattern.
06:09Insert the hooks into the wallpapered pegboard to hold your keys,
06:12or hang a pegboard shelf to hold dryer sheets in your laundry room.
06:16Style with pretty home decor or use it to store functional items.
06:22Gardening tools left leaning against the shed end up falling over and creating a mess.
06:27So pick up a free pallet from a dumpster or a curb.
06:31I wanted to paint it the same color as our shed,
06:33which is actually the same color as the trim of our house.
06:36That way, it would blend into the side.
06:38You can certainly paint labels on for the different sections of the tool storage,
06:42but I decided to use a Cricut so that it would be nice and neat.
06:46Next, I cleared the area by the shed to make sure there was plenty of room,
06:50and it was time to put our organizer in place.
06:53It rests right up against the wall, slightly at an angle so it doesn't fall forward.
06:57I love the way it turned out, and how it disappears into the shed.
07:01I know we'll be able to use this for a good number of years.
07:04It gives me a place to put tools when I'm done using them,
07:07and lets me access them quickly without needing to unlock the shed,
07:11especially in the spring and summer, when I'm gardening pretty much every day.
07:15The blank ends of kitchen cabinets are missed opportunities for extra storage.
07:20The first thing I'm going to do is measure my cabinets,
07:23and I'm going to make a couple of marks at 31 inches.
07:26I'm going to cut two boards at this size.
07:28My next two are going to be the top cuts,
07:31and those are going to be cut at 20 inches and 3 quarters.
07:35I'm going to join those up, and once I get those secured, it's a strong joint.
07:39No worries about it breaking.
07:41I'm going to put a railing down the middle.
07:44Now, once those are on and it's super strong, we're going to stain it.
07:47Now it's time to put it all together.
07:49I'm really happy with how closely the color matches.
07:52I'm going to use a few brad nails long enough to go through the boards and into the cabinets to
07:57secure it.
07:57I'm going to take the command hooks and put them on the cabinet.
08:00Now take a family cookbook, or any book that you like, and put it in there.
08:04I'm going to tuck some oven mitts in there as well, leaning them against the railing.
08:07And then I'm going to use those command hooks to hang utensils I use the most.
08:12It turned out so well, and the color was so close, it almost looks like it was built in.
08:17I'm going to take out the other side of the board.
08:17I'm going to take a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of
08:18a little bit of a little bit.
