00:18And then it lasted one drive into week two.
00:24Jameis looked outrageous.
00:28Not, and that's not a compliment against the L.A. Rams.
00:32And by the way, the Giants agree
00:34because they're immediately talking about trading
00:38for a handful of quarterbacks that aren't like that much better
00:41than Jameis Winston.
00:42So it turns out his World Cup correspondent days
00:45maybe took his focus away a little bit here.
00:48What did you make of the Jackson Dart injury for the New York Giants?
00:51Well, I want to piggyback what you said too
00:53because it did look like Jameis Winston was unprepared
00:55to run the offense the way it was.
00:57He just did not look right in it.
00:59And I understand the game plan is different for Jackson Dart
01:01than it would have for Jameis Winston.
01:03But here we are now with Jameis Winston
01:04and the YOLO balls will come in.
01:06And we know it's sometimes they're going to find Giants
01:09and sometimes they're going to find the other team.
01:11That's just, that's what it is.
01:12So it becomes a really difficult investment
01:14with anything New York Giants
01:16because whenever you're stopping those scoring drives
01:18or turning the ball over at the rate that Winston does,
01:20it's problematic.
01:21And look, I love Winston.
01:22He's really entertaining.
01:23We all enjoy him for his nonsense and his fun.
01:25He's a fun personality,
01:26but he did not look like he was ready to take the reins.
01:29And I understand it was a bad situation,
01:32but we could also argue he made it worse.
01:34And yes, we've had a ton of quarterback injuries.
01:36A couple of years ago,
01:37we broke the record for most guys actually
01:39to take a start under center.
01:42It was 64 guys a couple of years ago.
01:44Who knows if we're on pace already?
01:46I think it feels magnified
01:47because all these QB injuries have come so early
01:50in the first couple of weeks.
01:51We've had a lot of QB injuries
01:52over the last couple of years,
01:53but I think it's the fact
01:54that they've been so early in nature
01:56that really magnifies how bad they have been,
01:59especially to quarterbacks in situations
02:01that we had high hopes and expectations for.
02:05The interesting thing for the Giants
02:07is just how early in the season we are, right?
02:10I don't think they can just,
02:11you can't hand wave a season.
02:14The reality is no one enters
02:15the National Football League intending to tank, right?
02:19Or at least almost never.
02:21And the Giants certainly don't fit that description.
02:24So you owe it, I think, all involved to give it a go.
02:28It's very difficult to,
02:30like, does Mac Jones really mean give it a go?
02:32Like, I know there's some, you know,
02:33Mac Jones believers, but that's all, again,
02:36so much so that they think he's unavailable
02:39from San Francisco.
02:40So it's kind of, you know, a catch-22 then, I guess,
02:43if any backup will inspire confidence,
02:45probably can't be had.
02:47I think we'll learn a little bit today in their game.
