00:00The more you watch Bluey, the more you realize how much the show is hiding from you.
00:04Today, we are sharing the secrets we found.
00:06Coco has been one of Bluey's closest friends since they were babies.
00:10We see them together all the way back in the Baby Race episode.
00:13She appears regularly throughout the series, but here is something interesting.
00:17Coco has a dad and eight siblings, making nine kids in total in her family.
00:21And yet, we have never once seen any of them on screen.
00:24The only evidence they exist is a single family photograph shown briefly in one episode.
00:29Her dad has never appeared.
00:30Her eight siblings have never appeared.
00:32For a character who shows up as frequently as Coco does,
00:35having an almost entirely invisible family is a surprisingly large gap.
00:40Now let's look at a tiny detail in the episode The Pool.
00:43It's a very hot Queensland day, and Chili and the kids are hanging out in the lounge room.
00:47And Chili picks up a leaflet and uses it to fan herself in the heat.
00:51And if you look closely at that leaflet,
00:53it is from the same Chinese restaurant that appears in the episode Takeaway.
00:56The same restaurant where Bandit has his legendary battle with the crows.
01:00This is very clever detail, linking the two episodes.
01:03The episode Christmas Swim confuses a lot of international viewers
01:07because everyone is at the pool on Christmas Day.
01:10But that is just Australian reality.
01:12Australia is in the Southern Hemisphere, which means December is summer there.
01:16While Europe and America are bundled up in winter,
01:19Australians are sweating through Christmas at the beach.
01:21The episode is not strange at all.
01:23It is just accurate to where the show is set.
01:26Though it does raise the question of what Santa's outfit looks like down there.
01:30Most people watch Flatpak and see a funny episode about Bluey and Bingo
01:34playing a funny game about frogs.
01:36But there is a lot more happening underneath it.
01:38The game the two girls play tells the entire story of evolution.
01:42From early water creatures, to frogs, reptiles, dinosaurs, flying animals, polar animals,
01:49and eventually monkeys who evolve into cavemen, then humans,
01:53then an advanced society that eventually discovers space travel and leaves Earth.
01:57That is the history of life on this planet, told through a pretend game between two puppies.
02:02But at the same time, the episode is also telling the story of a mother and child,
02:07growing up together until the moment the child has to leave home and say goodbye.
02:11And there is a third layer too.
02:13When Caveman Bluey points to the cave drawing and talks about beings up above who created
02:17everything, Chili looks down and says,
02:20We made them.
02:22Which works both literally as a parent and as a creator,
02:25looking down on life they brought into the world.
02:28Then, elderly Bluey gets a call from above and goes to join them,
02:31watching over Bingo from there as her child moves forward.
02:35Three completely different stories, evolution, parenthood, and creation,
02:39told simultaneously in a seven-minute episode that works perfectly for a four-year-old
02:44who just wants to see dinosaurs.
02:46The writing in this episode is genuinely extraordinary.
02:49Did you know the episode Octopus might actually take place during the events of the episode Bingo?
02:55In Bingo, Bandit drops Bluey off at Chloe's house for a playdate,
02:59then returns home without her.
03:01Later, Bluey comes home from Chloe's and says,
03:03See you, Chloe!
03:05That means there's a whole period where Bluey is at Chloe's that we don't see.
03:10So, it is possible that Octopus could be the playdate happening during that exact time.
03:15It's never been officially confirmed, but the timeline fits really well.
03:19You probably know Alfie, the newest employee at the local toy shop,
03:23who first appeared in the episode Quiet Game,
03:26helping Bandit figure out what Bluey and Bingo were trying to act out in their game of charades.
03:30But what most people do not know is who is behind the voice.
03:34Alfie is voiced by Robert Irwin, the son of the legendary Steve Irwin, the crocodile hunter.
03:40Robert has followed in his father's footsteps as a wildlife presenter and conservationist,
03:44and his appearance in Bluey is one of several celebrity voice cameos hidden throughout the show.
03:50Uh, I don't know, sorry.
03:52One thing that stands out about Stripe's family is how wealthy they clearly are.
03:56Their house in Brisbane has a swimming pool,
03:58and a house with a pool in Brisbane would easily cost over a million dollars.
04:02They have taken multiple holidays to Bali, which gets referenced more than once across the series.
04:07Uncle Stripe said we could use his pool while he's in Bali.
04:10Stripe's also bought a brand new electric car, which in Australia does not come cheap.
04:15And on top of all of that, the family owns a caravan that appears in the episode Camping,
04:19which again is not an inexpensive thing to own and maintain.
04:22For a character whose job has never once been mentioned or shown on screen,
04:26Stripe is living extremely well.
04:28The show has never explained where the money comes from,
04:31which is actually one of the more quietly mysterious details about the Healer family.
04:35In Bluey, almost every character has flat fur with no real hairstyle.
04:40It is just part of their design.
04:42But a small handful of characters actually have distinct hairstyles that set them apart.
04:47Frisky is probably the most well-known example.
04:49She has a proper styled hairdo that makes her instantly recognizable.
04:53Indy is another one, and also her mom has a hairstyle too.
04:56Frisky's dad also has a notable style.
04:59And also, Chippy from the episode Tradies has a unique hairstyle.
05:03And if you look closely at some background characters across the series,
05:06there are occasional others with actual hair rather than just fur.
05:10Bluey looks like Bandit, and Bingo looks like Chili.
05:14That much is obvious.
05:15But here is the detail most people miss.
05:17Their patterns are actually swapped.
05:19Bluey's back spots are more spread out, which is a trait she inherited from Chili.
05:23And Bingo has one large spot on her back, something she got from Bandit.
05:27So while they look like one parent on the surface,
05:30they carry the other parent's pattern underneath.
05:32And then there is the yellow belly patch.
05:34Bandit has one, and neither of his daughters do, yet.
05:38But in the flash-forward sequence in Daddy Drop-Off,
05:40older Bingo has developed the same yellow patch on her belly, just like her dad.
05:44Each daughter took after one parent in looks, and the other in pattern.
05:48And while we are talking about spot patterns,
05:51Rusty's family has one of the most interesting ones in the entire show.
05:54Rusty has a diamond-shaped spot on his chest.
05:57His little sister Dusty has a small circle.
05:59Their mom has a zigzag pattern.
06:01His older brother Digger has a V-shape.
06:04And Rusty's dad has a downward arrow.
06:07Every single member of the family has a completely different chest marking.
06:11And they are all geometric shapes.
06:13In the episode The Sign, whenever Bandit crosses paths with the real estate agent
06:18trying to sell the healer house, he seems visibly annoyed.
06:21And there is a very specific reason for that.
06:24That real estate agent is Bucky Dunstan,
06:26Bandit's childhood classmate who first gets mentioned in the episode Dragon.
06:30When Bandit was six years old, Bucky made fun of his drawings.
06:34Bandit even makes a remark about Bucky becoming a real estate agent in Brisbane.
06:38And then The Sign brings him back as a real estate agent trying to sell the healer's home.
06:42A childhood bully showing up to sell your house.
06:45The show set that up episodes in advance
06:47and paid it off without ever drawing attention to it.
06:51In the episode Alongside,
06:52if you look carefully at the items scattered around Bluey's room,
06:56almost all of them are references to previous episodes.
06:59The purple sticky gecko on the wall is the same one from the episode Bedroom.
07:03The golden crown is the one from Queens.
07:06And if you look at Honey's room,
07:07there is a castle poster with a broom decoration on top of it,
07:10which is a clear reference to Harry Potter.
07:13In the episode Early Baby,
07:15the hat that Bluey wears has a red cross on it in some versions.
07:18But in other versions, the cross is purple.
07:21The reason is that certain regions have content regulations
07:24around the use of the red cross symbol,
07:26which is a protected emblem under international law.
07:29So some prints of the episode had the red cross altered to purple
07:32before being released in those regions.
07:35Earlier, we talked about Bluey's characters with actual hair.
07:38And now let's talk about tattoos.
07:40So far, Chippy is the only dog we see with tattoos.
07:43Currently, he has two tattoos,
07:45a tiger on one arm and two cherries on the other.
07:48And the cherry tattoo is really special
07:50because it's a subtle tribute to his girlfriend,
07:52whose name is Cherry.
07:53It's a really cool detail, isn't it?
07:56During the wedding in the sign,
07:58Nana and Bob start flossing on the dance floor,
08:00which is the exact same dance Bluey taught them
08:02in the episode Grannies.
08:04They remembered it, and they brought it to a wedding.
08:06And speaking of the sign,
08:08there are two hidden long dogs in that episode.
08:10One is a toy sitting inside the healer car.
08:13The other is visible on the back of Busker's laptop,
08:16hidden in plain sight across two completely different parts
08:19of the same episode.
