00:00 Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the top 10 things you missed
00:08 in the background of Bluey.
00:18 For this list, we'll be looking at the most notable details lurking just out of focus
00:21 - proverbially or literally - in Bluey, that many didn't catch the first time around.
00:27 Which of these background elements is your favorite?
00:29 Let us know in the comments.
00:32 Number 10.
00:33 Bluey learns martial arts.
00:40 While the family is taking out the bins and watching the trash truck, Bingo's learning
00:44 about finding a way to become friends with a new, initially combative person.
00:48 However, upon closer inspection, we realize that she isn't the only one learning something
00:52 new.
00:53 Bluey appears to be wearing a karate uniform during the evenings the bins need to be taken
00:57 out.
01:00 On the first night, she's wearing a white belt, indicating that she's a newbie to the
01:04 karate world.
01:05 However, with a keen eye, we can see that by the end of the episode, she's advanced
01:10 to a yellow belt.
01:18 It's a neat little bit of storytelling that provides a subtle glimpse into the character's
01:22 evolving lives as time passes.
01:35 Number 9.
01:37 Chilly marked her territory.
01:48 In this episode, we get to meet Chilly's father, who initially has a hard time slowing
01:52 down even though he's getting older.
01:54 Soon, Chilly is led on a mad dash to catch her dad, Bluey and Bingo.
01:58 As they run and hide from her in the wilderness, we get a quick glimpse of something that gives
02:02 us insight into her younger days.
02:06 Indeed, carved into a tree just out of focus is Chilly's name.
02:21 We can assume this is something she did when she was running around these very same woods
02:24 as a young pup.
02:25 It's an adorable little peek into what everyone's favorite mom was up to when she was closer
02:30 to her girl's age.
02:32 Number 8.
02:33 Mom's musical tastes.
02:45 The weekend is here and it's time to play.
02:47 While acting as a moving statue, Bingo happens upon an adorable insect that captures her
02:52 attention.
02:53 However, there's something different in this episode that we didn't notice the first
03:08 time around.
03:09 Looking closely at Chilly when she goes for and returns from her jog, we see her music
03:13 player.
03:14 In the background, and you'll see the album cover, is a dog version of the famous prism
03:18 from Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon.
03:22 We don't usually see much of the parents' preferences when it comes to music and entertainment.
03:27 This neat inclusion allows us to get to know Chilly a little better, outside of mom duties.
03:32 Number 7.
03:34 The Wiggles make an appearance.
03:43 When Grandad comes over to the Heeler house for some playtime, he ends up quite surprised
03:47 by how much Bluey and Bingo work phones into games.
03:50 When he learns to adjust, eagle-eyed viewers might notice a very special guest appearance
03:55 in the background.
03:56 The Australian children's music group The Wiggles appear in a signed photo.
03:59 Or, at least dog versions of them do.
04:02 It's an especially interesting catch when you realize that the leader of The Wiggles,
04:05 Anthony Field, has actually voiced both Posty and Rusty's father in the show.
04:15 This is hard to spot or recognize at first, but once you know, it's clear it's a sweet
04:20 nod to other figures in Australian kids' entertainment.
04:28 Number 6.
04:29 A friendly doodle.
04:36 Jean-Luc, Bluey's French-speaking friend that she met while camping, made a strong
04:40 impression.
04:44 In fact, in his original episode, we can see that the family is likely French-Canadian
04:49 based on the maple syrup on their table.
04:51 But in this episode, we realize just how important he is to Bluey when we see the drawings she
04:55 presumably made of the two of them.
04:57 The work of art actually makes more than one appearance in the series, displayed on the
05:01 wall in Bingo's eponymous episode, as well as in the Mother's Day-focused The Show.
05:08 There's important conversations being had in the foreground while it's visible in the
05:12 background, but it's adorable to know how much that trip and friendship means to Bluey.
05:18 Number 5.
05:19 Fire Emblem Easter Egg.
05:23 Is there anything quite as exciting as a trip to a warehouse store with all sorts of odds
05:27 and ends?
05:28 While our eyes are drawn to Bluey and Bingo's imaginary homes in the cart, we nearly miss
05:33 what's going on elsewhere.
05:35 As the cart heads down a large aisle, you can see items in the background with an interesting
05:39 set of names.
05:51 Pay attention, and you'll notice that Dimitri, Claude, and Edelgard are written in bold letters.
05:56 These happen to be names of the house leaders in Fire Emblem Three Houses, from the popular
06:00 strategy game franchise.
06:02 There's something so satisfying about spotting the references that artists sneak into their
06:06 work from media they presumably enjoy.
06:15 Number 4.
06:17 Low Budget Lighting.
06:26 Some kids want to avoid seeing their parents be romantic – sorry, romance.
06:30 Others, like Bluey and Bingo, sometimes just want to see a smoochy kiss.
06:35 To try and set the mood, the imaginative family creates a pretend fancy restaurant.
06:46 As usual, mom and dad play along.
06:55 As Bandit declares this restaurant to be the fanciest in town, a set of sharp eyes will
07:00 reveal that even the lights hilariously disagree.
07:09 Just as he finishes his sentence, one of the bulbs in the string lights behind him flickers
07:13 and burns out.
07:15 Here follows suit a little bit later in the episode.
07:27 It seems like the fanciest restaurant in town might be in need of some repairs.
07:32 Number 3.
07:33 The Family License Plate.
07:38 The license plate of a vehicle might not be a place your eyes typically wander, so you
07:42 probably missed this creative detail.
07:45 The Heeler family's car license plate reads 419 HLR.
07:49 While most could probably guess that HLR stands for Heeler, there's seemingly more to this
07:54 hidden message.
07:59 Hexadecimal color codes are used to identify different hues.
08:02 It just so happens that 419 FFF is the code for a shade of blue that looks a lot like
08:08 something we see all the time – Bluey and Bandit's fur.
08:12 Even better, if you take the message all together, you get Blue Heeler, the very same breed of
08:17 dog our title character and her dad are.
08:22 Number 2.
08:23 The Tooth Fairy Money
08:30 What's better than a cute background detail?
08:33 One that's stretched over several episodes.
08:45 In markets, we see Bluey eager to spend her Tooth Fairy money and the many hands the $5
08:50 exchange gives.
09:04 This cash happens to have a special sticker on it that allows us to find it tucked into
09:09 other scenes as it passes around the entire city.
09:12 In dance mode, we see the same bill in the hat of the aforementioned busker.
09:24 Later on in The Quiet Game, astute viewers will notice the very same performer spending
09:29 that exact bill at an ice cream stand.
09:32 Talk about dedication on the creative team's part.
09:35 Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
09:39 One sick dog.
09:40 While Bandit blocks the slide, the pup waiting at the top wipes his boogers and doesn't look
09:45 too good.
09:59 Playtime consistency.
10:01 Chloe and Bluey continue their game of princess and horse.
10:11 Undertale Easter egg.
10:13 That stuffed animal looks an awful lot like Sans, doesn't it?
10:25 Present preparation.
10:26 Festivities are clearly coming soon with the wrapping paper and gift already out.
10:45 One hundred and one dalmatians.
10:47 Chloe's house address is properly numbered to remind us she's a dalmatian.

11:23 Long dog.
11:25 Animators often know how much folks love Easter eggs, so why not make one for dedicated fans
11:31 to keep track of?
11:42 Long dogs are small dogs of various forms and colors that appear in the background across
11:46 the series.
11:47 In the first episode, for instance, we see a blue long dog with stripes resting on a
11:52 shelf along with other toys.
11:53 A different one is hiding in Christmas Swim wearing a Santa hat.
11:57 Even in a flashback-heavy episode like Baby Race, a long dog makes itself present, hiding
12:02 on top of a cabinet and wearing a diaper.
12:05 And those are just a few examples out of many.
12:07 If you're on a rewatch of the show, take some time and see how many you can find.
12:17 Do you agree with our picks?
