00:00Think you've spotted all the hidden gems in Bluey? Think again.
00:03Today, we're diving into some sneaky details you might have missed that make the show even more
00:08special. As we know, Bluey is probably the most realistic cartoon show out there. This is because
00:14of all the amazing minor details in the show. And the best example of this can be found in the
00:19episode Bin Knight. And I'm not talking about how Bluey goes from white belt to yellow belt.
00:24There's another amazing detail that probably no one has noticed so far. Right at the beginning
00:29of the episode, we see Chili and Bingo sitting on the front stoop. Behind Bingo, there's a small
00:34flowerpot with a sprout. By the end of the episode, we see the same flowerpot again. And the sprout has
00:41now grown into a small plant. Details like this are what makes Bluey so realistic and fun. Did you know
00:46the creators of the show sometimes slightly change the design of the character without anyone noticing?
00:52One that caught our attention, that practically no one noticed, is the design of Sox. Sox got her
00:58name precisely because on her paws, we can see she has small stripes above the lighter spots,
01:03as if they were Sox. But as the character grew and started walking on two legs, note that the stripes
01:09she had on all four paws simply disappeared, indicating that the puppy's design underwent a
01:15subtle modification that very few people noticed. And Sox isn't the only one that had their design
01:21changed, because the same thing happened with other characters too, like Mackenzie's mom.
01:26In the episodes of the first season, like in Spy Game, we can see that she had a brown spot
01:31only on
01:32one side of her face. But when we see her again in the other seasons, her design is different.
01:37Now she has brown spots on both sides of her face. Many people have no idea, but there are
01:43several references to Bluey within the Bluey series itself. One of them happens in the episode
01:49The Quiet Game, where we see the book that illustrates the episode Fruit Bat in the window of a bookstore,
01:54that Bandit and the girls pass by. Another time we see self-reference within the series
01:59is in the episode Show and Tell, where we see both Bluey and Bingo painted on an electrical box by
02:06the
02:06roadside. But even more interesting thing is that this same electrical box exists in real life and
02:12is painted exactly like the episode represents it. And in the episode Kids, we found a really intriguing
02:18detail. During a quick trip to the supermarket, when Bandit and Bluey are passing by Toys Isle,
02:24we can see a toy in the background. And on the cover, we can see a blue dog that resembles
02:30Bluey.
02:30And not only that, on the cover, we also see a picture of a house. And if you look at
02:36it closely,
02:36you'll know it looks very similar to another house. I'm talking about Bluey's house. So the question
02:42here is, is Bluey a big celebrity in her world? Maybe she is. As we know, in Bluey, every background
02:49character has a role. They are not shown just for the sake of it. They are directly or indirectly
02:55involved in the episodes. This is what makes Bluey so fun to watch. For example, in the episode
03:01Market, we meet two ponies, Buttermilk and Biscuits. And this is not the only episode we see these two in,
03:08because in the episode Pass the Parcel, we can see them again. But this time, we didn't see Biscuit.
03:14And also, in the episode Curry Quest, we see them again. And this time, we can see both Buttermilk
03:20and Biscuits. It seems like they appear every time there's some sort of event or affair going on.
03:25Do you know, so far, audiences do not know who voices Bluey and Bingo? While viewers know who is
03:31behind Bandit and Chili, they do not know who voices Bluey and Bingo. The show's crew decided to keep
03:37the voice actors for Bluey and Bingo anonymous in order to protect their privacy. All that has
03:42been revealed about them is that they are the children of people on the show's production crew.
03:46This decision has been widely praised, especially considering the dangers well-known child actors
03:52face. In one of our previous videos, we talked about how some of the characters always wear clothes.
03:59And just like how very few characters in Bluey always wear clothes, in the same way very few
04:04characters have hair. Among the few who do are Frisky, Indy, Indy's Mum, Radley, Digger, Dusty,
04:13and Rusty's Mum.
04:14Did you know Bluey was created to be an Australian version of Peppa Pig?
04:18According to show's creator Joe Brum, he wanted to create a show that was similar to Peppa Pig,
04:23but had a more Australian feel. He also shared that his initial idea was to create an R-rated
04:29retelling of Peppa Pig, using the grammar of the show, but showing the realities of parenting.
04:34He explained that he had written the script for it and would like to revisit it one day.
04:39Now, I don't know about you guys, but I would definitely love to see a Bluey and Peppa Pig
04:43crossover.
04:44So far, a number of episodes of Bluey have been banned or censored. Although the show is mostly
04:50innocent, there have been some Bluey episodes that have been banned and censored for a number of
04:55different reasons. Some, for example, were deemed to be setting a dangerous example for children,
05:00and others were edited for sillier reasons, like talking about poop. Most instances of editing or
05:07removing scenes were due to the show being added to Disney Plus and needing to meet their strict
05:11content guidelines. However, there was one scene that was removed globally because of intense
05:16backlash. This is Season 3, Episode 29, Exercise. In it, Bandit can be seen weighing himself and being
05:24unhappy with the results. The episode garnered a lot of controversy, as concerned parents felt that
05:30it was spreading ideas of fat shaming and negative body image talk. Moving on in the episode Bingo,
05:36we noticed a funny detail involving the study of world geography.
05:40When Bandit returns, he asks a question to Bingo. And the question is, what colour is the Kiwi?
05:47If you don't know, Kiwi is a small bird native to New Zealand that can't fly. But Bingo doesn't
05:53know the answer. But she says she knows where it is, so she starts assembling the world map puzzle.
05:58But the last piece of the puzzle goes missing. At this moment, Bandit says,
06:03not again. This is a reference to old world maps that represented all countries but forgot to include
06:10New Zealand. In the end, Bingo finds the puzzle piece, and the puzzle was finally solved, putting
06:16the country on the map as it should be. In the puzzle, the Kiwi is the animal representing the country,
06:21and we can see the bird is brown coloured. At this point, most of us know about the healer's car
06:28license plate detail, where 419 means a shade of blue, and HLR means healer, so basically blue healer.
06:36But did you know there are other license plates with even more interesting numbers? For example,
06:40Terrier's mum license plate basically spells out Terrier. But the funniest license plate belongs to
06:46Bella. If we look at her license plate, it spells out too many kids, basically implying her nine
06:51children. As we know by now, Bluey's episodes are totally interconnected with each other, and this
06:57is demonstrated through small details that we see throughout the series. One proof of this is what
07:02we find under the couch cushion in the episode, Cubby. When Bingo grabs the pillow where Bandit is
07:07sitting, we find something underneath, the yes and no keychain, which is exactly the same remote that
07:14Bingo got in the dance mode episode, where she chose the moments when her parents should dance
07:18and embarrass themselves. At this moment, when the entire healer family starts dancing because Bingo
07:24commanded, right at that moment when the busker is playing his music, if we look at the hat where
07:29people put their contributions, guess what's in the hat? The same $5 bill that Bluey herself had
07:35donated to the busker in the episode, mark it. But the most intriguing detail of all of this is that
07:41we
07:41see the busker himself using this same bill in the episode, Quiet Game, to buy ice cream,
07:47which shows that the bill went around and ended up coming back to him once again.
07:52So, these were some of the small details we found in Bluey,
07:56and as always, we'll see you all in the next video.
